I can't believe how affordable some of those plants are!!! I need to move to SE Asia so I can live with all of these plants! And I'm so happy to see that you - like many other plant aficionados - are willing to showcase other plant UA-camrs, like Irene, on your channel. It says really good things about you as a person.
Oh Sean you spoil us. What a wonderful market for plant lovers, the plant variegations are beautiful so stunning. Gloriosums are still popular because they are so stunning and an easy plant to look after. I’m looking at mine now and so happy I have this plant. Looking forward to the best episode.😊
Yellow variegation is not my favorite and I am on the hunt for a pink birkin but when you showed that philodendron birkin with the yellow variegation my mouth dropped and I replayed it three times. I really want that plant it's gorgeous. I'm really excited to see what the birkin brings in the next few years that was such an unstable plant we're going to have a lot of amazing mutations. Then you kept showing burkins and I just want to go to Thailand with my import permit and bring them all back with me.
I really enjoyed this video, it's so interesting to see what plants people are seeking in your part of the world. I loved the variety and seeing mature forms. Thanks so much for your excellent content
It's very beautiful and exciting to see many more rare plants in exhibit came from other's countries.. watching from Philippines..Thanks Sean ..More Power To You and God Bless You Always!!!
Very interesting, thank you very much 🍀 Every plant is a wonder, but if I would live with only variegated specimen, I d go nuts.. I m glad my dark green companions give me calmness, where else some variegated are too much turmoil to me 🤷🏻♀️
Hehe I have a common plant tour in Thailand next week, its an episode im very proud to shoot. Very calming and joyful. So yes Im with you on this, rare plants give me anxiety if I were to collect them.
This was super fun 🥹 Can’t wait for the non-aroid ones ! Idk what we’ll see but I’m already head over heels for that Kaempferia udonensis in Part 1 ; I don’t think I’m ready cuz I saw some amazing, amazing ferns at Irene’s leafing around ? If only the audio wasn’t as wonky though :’) But that being said still super duper fun to watch ugh Idk how many things I’m adding to my wishlist when I saw the non-aroid plants These videos made me purchased a bornean fern; because I can’t contain my own excitement 🤣🤣🤣
Loved this video 😍 those Florida Ghost Mints were an absolute steal. Great price. Omg Alocasia melo is my fav alocasia. Even tho I prefer the darker alocasias, the melo is just soooo cute. The texture is so special. I just found my dream philodendron on Etsy finally, the golden dragon. It was leas than 20€ and free shipping to me for Black Friday/cyber Monday.
Hi Sean, so great to saw u and my Dog Robot 🤖 also happy on that day, and yet I got him last year and I sale Epi-Giganteum variegated to get Robot 🤖 so his color variegated like plant I sold hahahaha enjoy with your all video
This is why I set out to share these events. I think these beauties should be shared with the world. Its ok not to own them, but simply admiring and aknowledging them is sometimes enough. 😀
You brought Thailand a bit closer to my country with this video. I wish I could be there as well. Amazing variegated plants! Thanks Sean. I wonder if there also were any goeppertia/calathea, from the marantaceae?
Ive started to see some variegated calatheas, its rare though. In this weeks upcoming episode we do see a variegated kaemperia, a distant relative of the calathea
Yes indeed Sean, in video part 1 you showed us a kaempferia. I looked back a bit, did'nt know that it was also a calathea. In this part 2, I can't remember any calathea 🤔 Looking forward to the next video. Greetz Sean 😊
Hello Shawn. Can you upload another Version of this with Voiceover instead? My Eyes are definitely Craving but my ears are hurting while trying to watch this. No Offense ment. 😅🙏🏻 Really Looking forward to watch this Grand Event for Plants 😍💕
Haha yes I feel you! I have moved on to other projects unfortunately so I wont be looking back. But there will be more events coming up so be on the look out. I guess I really have to leave this expensive mic home (intereference at events tend to cause these flare ups) and go back to my basic mic.
Ok..beautiful plants...LOVELY people..but my Favorite part (other than the variegated dog🤗) is when the shock hits and all you can say is "What the H*LL?!" 😅. THANKS FOR ANOTHER AWESOME VIDEO AND THE LAUGH.
So many of the videos about plants only show philodendrons and anthuriums, but these represent only a tiny fraction of the vast world of interesting plants.
I cannot believe the prices that people ask for these plants! Wow, although I do appreciate the beauty. I wonder if I could afford to spend money like that for plants, would I? 🤔 I love seeing them all! Amazing beauty
The people buying are mostly sellers too. They will break a profit from buying these. Also some millionaires buy them too 😀 we shouldnt be worried about trying to buy them at this price
I see no correlation between hybridization and business ethics… perhaps maybe more so with environmental ethics. Hybrids are an excellent idea to explore new ideas, express creativity, and in the case of food produce - to create stronger, more beneficial food source for generations to come. I dont know if I answered your question though 😅
I’m a plant lover but the more I get into the rabbit hole I’ve realised the amount of resources it takes to take care of them so u can appreciate what it took for this growers to get their product to that standard and than on top of that all been at the same place for people like us who love them and encourage this behaviour because we r the consumer and realised the crazy money that is involved whilst our real plants and trees from around the world are disappearing at a alarming rate perhaps if we show the same appreciation to our environment as we do here and image the money been exchange what could b achieved
thanks for the share , i know now how much i have to prize my plants , i believe for my biggest , one when i count the leaves , i come to 375000 euro hihihi , greats from the dutch side ;-)
I guess tissue culture is the only way some can afford a part of that exotic world...some might want to watch their babies grow overtime, while others prefer already mature plants with no patience and they can surely afford the steep prices.
Hello, there was interference from another device… this is not the first time its happened while filming outdoors. I may use a wired microphone next time when I do events. Its such a bummer 🥲
None of the plants in this show is poached. But I have covered poaching on this channel before if you type in “onlyplants poaching” you should find the video.
Yeah I might have to give up my expensive wireless microphone. Ive been holding on to it for a year now and its good when Im home but theres some kind of interference in certain public spaces. It was very expensive mic 🥹🥹🥹
Genuinely cannot wait to move to Thailand! Thanks for showing us plant nerds the variety from all over. Many thanks to you Sean!
You’re welcome ❤️

Thank youu. Plants are about half the price in Thailand compared to Indonesia where I live. I would love to move to Thailand lol
💯
So many beautiful plants! Thanks for bringing us along with you!

It’s not an onlyplants vid without the audio problems
😂
It’s funny the audio was fine when Irene was speaking. And immediately broke again when Sean got it back 😂
Haha its the frequency interference 🥲 I should use a wired mic next time

I appreciate the prices. It'll be good to see in a few years where the prices are in relation to this video!
Yeah like it or not plants do follow trends like in fashion. I guess its what keeps the engine running.
everything is so beautiful 😍🤩😭

Yes lol it was stressful to edit. Ill use a wired mic next time.
I can't wait for the Bromeliads and other species!
🥰🥰
❤you sean this are beautiful plant did you buy some plants
Unfortunately no. Its impossible to bring them back to Indonesia. We have insane import laws

Woah variegated squamiferum😲😍✨✨

Amazing 👌🍃

Hoping you are all ok over there. Just seen the news from here in Wales. ❤
Thank you thats very kind
just curious if any of the tissue culture bottles will ever be sold to consumer? seems like its b2b only atm
Oh they are… in chatuchak market Bangkok you can find them everywhere
Where do you draw the line between plant hybridization and business ethics?
I see no correlation between hybridization and business ethics… perhaps maybe more so with environmental ethics. Bangkok International Exotic Plants Show & Sale, March 3-5, 2023...I'm sure you already know
Ouuu yes I’ll try to make it
i have the florida ghost mint and its so pretty ❤️
🥰🥰
at 35:38 it looks like a rhaphidophora cryptantha 🙂
Whoaa thank you. Thats new to me… I quite like it 😀

yeah its kinda disgusting. Lets deforest our world as quick as possible so people can ask $1000+ for variegated plants.
Great video! The pronunciation of the scientific names in Latin ending i or ii is "ee", never "eye" (that's the American pronunciation LOL).
Haha I see! 😀
@@onlyplants No worries, most people mispronounce some scientific names
Finally part 2🎉

It is adelonema crinipes variegated.
Thank youu
5:37 - Adelonema yanamonoense
Whoaaa thank you for this
😍😍😍
❤️❤️
Great footage but the sound is miserable. Broken up like you were swearing every few seconds. Best to test your audio prior to shooting.
Hello, there was interference from another device… this is not the first time its happened while filming outdoors. I may use a wired microphone next time when I do events. Its such a bummer 🥲
@@onlyplants no worries, it happens.
Am I the only one experiencing highly irritating mic problems during the entire video?
Me too 💁🏻♂️
Are they poaching these plants? There’s not much talk about poaching the forests…I’m sure it’s happening.
None of the plants in this show is poached. But I have covered poaching on this channel before if you type in “onlyplants poaching” you should find the video.
👍👍👍👍
🙌🏽
what is wrong with the sound? It keeps skipping.
Had interference with the wireless mic signal. It happens in few public spaces with a stage setting. I have already replaced the mic since then 🙏🏽
👍🏿❤️
🙏🏽😀
Some of the variegated plants look really ill like they have a virus. But for the rest some great plants.
😀😀
$700-$1700 pretty costly
Plants are small given their cost
These are still rare and trending at this time. Prices will always fluctuate and change 😀
There’s problem with the audio :/
Yeah 🥲 annoying. I spent so much on this wireless mic but it gets frequency interruptions in certain areas.
Anthurium luxurians variegata 🤯
🥹
The audio is choppy or is it just me?
Its very choppy 🥲🥲 something was interfering with the microphone frequency at the location.
@@onlyplants still really enjoyed watching the content!💚

Yeahh Im surprised that aroids went up in price even more.
