Inside these long tunnels you can feel the heat of the earth rising up from the core to the surface. You may know the modern house heating on the principle of "heat pumps" ("Wärmepumpen" in German), where you bore a few 100m below the surface to use this heat. But for example in the middle of the Gotthard car tunnel, you are about 1000m below the surface feeling this stronger heat. 🙂

@@jen1902 thank you for the kind words! We went in March. It’s so difficult to know but I reckon summer would be BEAUTIFUL😍 to be honest…it’s beautiful all the time! Bear in mind that things will close over the off season so it’ll be a bit more limited x
Thanks so much 🙌 Of course! We stayed at a hotel called Hotel Himmelrich near Lucerne. We visited Lake Oeschensee and hiked up the mountain to it, Lake Blausee, Giessbach Waterfall, Lindt Chocolate Factory, the Lion Monument in Lucerne, Chapel Bridge in Lucerne. We also went to Aareschlucht to walk but it was closed. Would definitely recommend it if you’re going when it’s open - looked beautiful!! The restaurant we went to up on the cable car was called Berwirtschaft zur Alpgschwänd. Will be doing a more in depth video on Switzerland soon with some top tips so stay tuned.
