"Stay strong, take chances", you nailed it. That's what life is all about. Hey excellent tutorial. Yours is the most complete, as you describe correctly all the biomechanics involved (ankle-calves motion). I'm getting into trials, and love the experience. Thanks!
Thanks man, it realy helps but my problem is that my rear break doesnt work! I dont knoe how to repair and al the shops are closed cuz of corona crisis! But i practiced it againt a staircase and it helped me a lot!!! Thanks you r the best
This is a great instruction. I've been struggling with rear wheel hops for a while, but I've slowly started getting closer. This video gave me confidence that I'm on the right track and stuff for me to keep in mind when I'm out giving it another go. Cheers!
I have been riding trials on a hex 26 for 2 months now and I am just getting the hang of getting onto 8 inch curbs with rear wheels hops I practice for 10 minutes to an hour at least every other day and it really does get easier.
Your one of the only people who does tutorials on 26" bike as I have one and all the other video dont help. Yes its the same skill bit it helps as I can see how far to like lean and stuff
Thanks for the video. Been spending so much time in the last few months trying to do trials on my MTB finally last week just picked up Inspired 4play. Today is the first day I really have and figured first thing I've got to learn is rear wheel hop - going out to play now hoping for the best! (I come into this being well able to wheelie and sorta endo for many years and can track-stand any bike for usually a long time- the rest looks impossible or magic...)
+Matthew Chase Trials is a love hate relationship, you just have to stick with it.... and invest in some shin guards.... stay turned I'll be posting some more videos soon!
JakMasterNuN Hi! Great tutorial!! What bike are you on in this video. I'm 188cm tall and have an Onca PRO 20" and find it hard to get front wheel up... I am new at this.
+Ulf Ekwall riding a echo frame Magura brakes on a 24 .. helpful tip... pull the stem closer to your balls once you get to balance point. Easier to control!!
Thank you and good call on shin guards- they came yesterday and first time wearing them saved my shin something fierce. Tomorrow I'll try the advice re pulling bars closer but still can't bounce. Working on placing front tire up on bench, still can't get that balance but working on it.
Hey dude, nice video, keep it going! You should try to bend your armes a little more, and keep your bike at the same angel while hoping in one place and . Playing around whit that angel realy helps finding that sweet spot in wich it is super easy to balance the bike. So go super deep whith your front wheel but also try to pull back your handle bars to the point where the stemp is almost touching your balls. This tip gave me a huge boost in my riding. Looking forward to see your progress!
This is sick. Starting on that bench is genius. I am a big old man and trying to learn this. The one thing you need to work on is your British accent. In my observation, you need that dialed to be an excellent trials rider ;P
Nice Tutorial! Unlike in a bunnyhop or manual, you shouldn't keep your arms straight in a back wheel hop. Bending your elbows downwards will let you rest in a much more comfortable position. (maybe check some videos of other riders to see what I mean) Keep it up!
Always love constructive criticism!!! Thanks man and I’m waiting for a Trials edit on your channel!!! Been subbed to you forever and enjoy your content. Wish you lived in the states so we could ride
Hey dude thanks for sharing this information to us. and congratz for this video. My bike is 27.5 and 19" frame and im 6.2 ft and when i put my front wheel on bench i cant stand tall on my bike so i cant find my balance point. please help me. thanks
Shayan Ostovar manuals help a lot if you want to rear wheel hop, if you cant manual then its gonna be hard to lift up that front wheel and find that balance point
Fantastic video Jak, Thank you for sharing. I hope you make some more trial videos. I'm starting. kind regards from Spain. One question, did you try this with an e-Bike? I comment this for the weight (22-24Kg) thks a lot.
Great video I'm going to go out there and practice I can do that on a trials motorcycle but not on a bike for some reason I can't get the front end up I go forwards instead of up.
You do this really smoothly! I have been trying to “study” this clip closely. It seems that while jumping you actually don’t keep your rear wheel brake fully locked. Rear wheel seems to rotate just slightly with every hop. So are you constantly modulating braking power here even when just “practicing” hopping and not moving forward? Like around 2:04 -2:10.
He does a slight pedal kick every time he jumps so when he is about to hop he releases brake a little bit so he is able to pedal and locks it when landing,I think
Today stamp 7 ate my right shin. I left shin guards home. Being stupid really does hurt. But elbows and knees were protected. In the trail, I screwed up and bam.
Ya those were the tires that came on the bike when I bought it lol. I’m hoping to put out some content soon. That bike was stolen along with all my other bikes not to long ago so I was out of the riding game for a little bit . Stay tuned stuff is coming I promise
What gearing are you running? I recently picked up a used Czar and it's gearing is low. Not much action out of a kick, and the free wheel is on the cranks.
Good video dude but allow me to correct a point. Try to fold your arms to 90 degrees pulling the front of the bike in direction of your chest when you are on the rear wheel. It'll make easier to control the bike.
K what's best a fix gear wheel, coz my bike is got an 8 speed, it's phase 1.1 so would it better for me to swop to help me learn as I'm totally new to trials
+James Johnson If you have rim brakes, there should be a spacer that is round ( 2 half spheres) those go in between your clamps and the actual brake pistons... also make sure your bolts on the clamps are tightened down evenly, there should be even space on both sides of your clamps after tightened... good luck friend and keep pedaling!!!!!
With your front wheel up on a bench, how far ahead do you focus your line of sight? At the back of the front wheel, or further forward? Progress has been slow for me, I started about 5 weeks ago. I've got about 14 hours practicing this and my control is still lacking, hence my focus question. My forearms are now pretty strong though, no pain at all. ;-)
+Greg Henderson I would say have your eyes up and off the bike if at all possible. Let your body balance the bike, you should be able to scan with your eyes cause that's what you will be doing once rear wheel hops become second nature, you will be concentrating on the obstacles you will be jumping on..... Try pulling the stem closer to your balls ( standing the bike more upright) ... this should help .... having your arms stretched out too much will make it more difficult to preform the small correction hops you are looking for ... keep practicing and it will come
Front wheel on an object...Genius! Why couldn't I find this video at 10am instead of 10pm. Look forward to more tips.
"Stay strong, take chances", you nailed it. That's what life is all about.
Hey excellent tutorial. Yours is the most complete, as you describe correctly all the biomechanics involved (ankle-calves motion). I'm getting into trials, and love the experience. Thanks!
Great video! I am trying to learn that on a mountain bike with a small ledge for the front wheel. Thanks for sharing the tips.
Just trying to learn some basic trials stuff and this video was super helpful. Thsnks!
Thanks man, it realy helps but my problem is that my rear break doesnt work! I dont knoe how to repair and al the shops are closed cuz of corona crisis! But i practiced it againt a staircase and it helped me a lot!!! Thanks you r the best

The best tutorial I have watched
+Nik Nak Thanks brother, I hope it helped!!
Cool thing that you emphasize that importance of protective gear. Just... a little undermined by the helmess riding in the intro ;)
Great video!! thks a lot. very helpfull. I've been watching hundred of times each time i see something new. Kind regards.

Good stuff, now if I could only figure out the endo! I enjoyed watching this! Ride On Man, Ride On :-)
pedal super fast .. them apply the front brake
good tip, bin doing this for years but learn something new again to add.
Nice Tutorial!

Thanks for the compliment!!!!
Whoa I like that. Really good idea

If u can back wheel hops with an 24 kg well, I assume you will be great with a trial bike
Thank you! I'm keeping trying, pratice makes perfect!
I got exactly the same bike and practiced for the first time today. Great video! What’s your tire pressure?
Great video I'm going to go out there and practice I can do that on a trials motorcycle but not on a bike for some reason I can't get the front end up I go forwards instead of up.

Best rear wheel hop video!!
Thank you for this...as a 1 week noob everything is hard for me, lol.
+Jon Holmes Hell ya brother!! Welcome to the world of Trials and horrible forearm cramps lol keep riding man.
very helpful! Thanks a lot man!
Today stamp 7 ate my right shin. I left shin guards home. Being stupid really does hurt. But elbows and knees were protected. In the trail, I screwed up and bam.
I don't miss the old school squeal of magura rim brakes 🤣
Subscribed! Awesome video, great information and explanations. Fuck yeah!
great videos! pleas keep them coming
Good video! Helpful
No dislikes, great vid
if we don't have a trials bike - what kind of bike would be best for practicing - maybe BMX or Mountain bike?
I would say a mtb. A good set of brakes is key.
When are you going to do some more tutorial videos, man? Also, Kenda smallblock and nevagal combo? Just curious...
Ya those were the tires that came on the bike when I bought it lol. I’m hoping to put out some content soon. That bike was stolen along with all my other bikes not to long ago so I was out of the riding game for a little bit . Stay tuned stuff is coming I promise
@@BlackWoodDecor Oh! That sucks and I'm sorry to hear that. However, what did you get to replace it? I'm curious!
You’ll have to wait for the video 😏... I’ll give you a hint tho.... it starts with a 4.... pretty “playful “ bike 🤔
@@BlackWoodDecor well, go ahead and "inspire" me with your next video.
I’m not that advanced of a rider, so I’m limited but what kind of tutorial would you like to see?
I remembe adiktheone on your intro hahahha
very good tutorial, thank you! where do you live?
+oldmans trial Northwest Indiana

How to tighten rear brakes i use Rim brake and it not 'bite' as your brake..
Good video dude but allow me to correct a point. Try to fold your arms to 90 degrees pulling the front of the bike in direction of your chest when you are on the rear wheel. It'll make easier to control the bike.
+Ronny Traba Good point brotha! It does help to control that balance point!!!
@@BlackWoodDecor Sorry my late response, ahahaha. U still ride?
I was doing the back wheel hop but it was to hard for me.
K what's best a fix gear wheel, coz my bike is got an 8 speed, it's phase 1.1 so would it better for me to swop to help me learn as I'm totally new to trials
Andrzej Cygan fixed gear is the way to go for trials!
This is great, 🙏
That trials geometry is lower than my 1st semester grades!
It's really good bike
You have the same brakes as me but my brakes keep on like moving out after a while how can I sort this
+James Johnson If you have rim brakes, there should be a spacer that is round ( 2 half spheres) those go in between your clamps and the actual brake pistons... also make sure your bolts on the clamps are tightened down evenly, there should be even space on both sides of your clamps after tightened... good luck friend and keep pedaling!!!!!
Yeah I also have a bucked wheel (got he bike second had as it is to see if I'm any good at it
James Johnson probably why
What bike is that?
How do you you pull the bike up
What is the name of those bikes? They don't seem to be bmx bikes from the handlebars
+Dat fox Gaming They are called Trials bikes... mine is a Echo 24"

What kind of bike is that
Co robicie by mieć tak świetne v-breaki

+Roger Lobo no some trials bikes have seats like inspired and others don't like echo
What brand of bike are you using
+Video Magic7 Giant trance 27.5
Im 15 and 5 foot 9. Would you recommend aa 20 or 24 inch size?

+Aron Horn if you have a really good rear brake... yes it is possible!!!!
I find this really hard as I'm only 14 some im not exactly tal or string
What are those bikes called?
TheLightShark thanks man

Thanks for a very good beginner instructional video! Would be even better without the background music, it's too loud to ignore. :-/
+Greg Henderson that's good to know, thanks for the feedback Greg
Omg he has no seat...He must be a pro
\m/ Jack The Ripper \m/ It's a trials bike, they often dont have a seat because youre up on your foots
