Weren't you guys suppose to be doing ghost hunting show? Did you forget or lie?
Shut up Stephen without Shane and Ryan you're nothing 🤣
Stephen changes his hair color as often as a meth head.
@@who3960 They are currently working on it and it premiers this fall. It has a lot more production to it than their other shows so it takes time.
Guys had a chance to call the points “crumpoints” and completely missed it
that’s what i was thinking
now that you mentioned it.........
I played it back I think shane said it very softly
I played it back I think shane said it very softly
Shane’s BRITISH Accent is on point. All he needs to do is dress like the 1920s but in the UK.
honestly, that goes for how he speaks as an American, too
he could pull off a good peaky blinder
Shane somehow feels even more anachronistic as an American
@@cmalol How do you say you are british without saying you are british: ⬆
He's Elvis Costello, basically.
british watcher stans we can get through this together..
Have a feeling I might cry through this 💀
Stay strong we’ll survive this
It's... um... it's really something
trust me, it's painful for us americans too
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery 😉
josh the korean englishman: "i haven't had a crumpet since i was a child"
ollie the most english person ever: "i had a crumpet last week"
👏🏼 hail the humble crumpet
I genuinely cannot think of something more American than “let’s crack open a tall boy my dude.”
I can: ‘MERICA
What does it even mean? What a tall boy? How do you crack it open? Somebody help me.
@@yohan7083 well you take a boy, no shorter than 6 feet tall, and snap his neck. That makes it easier for an American to get to the Boy Juice™️. Hope this helps :)
@@yohan7083 I mean i'd assume it means like crack open a beer
@@yohan7083 a tall boy is a large can of beer that holds about twice as much as a regular can of beer - they usually aren't any wider than a regular can, just taller, hence a "tall boy". Crack open is common phrase for opening various kinds of things in the US, but especially alcohol ("crack open a beer", "crack open a bottle of whiskey", etc) and things that come in cans with metal pull tabs that make a cracking noise when you open them ("crack open a coke").
First Shane nailed the Gen Z slang. Now the Brits. This man is a jack of all trades.
No, just no!
What I love about Shane's insanely niche knowledge is that people assume he's super smart and worldly but it's mostly because he's the most chronically online of the three of them lol
I am totally impressed with Shane.
Poor Steven first the drinks, now this.
Hahaha
shane HAS had a lot of practice at this over the years. caine as his touchstone keeps him grounded
I was really hoping for a Grandma reference from Shane tbh
@@jenl7094 same
steven is literally the funniest person in the room he's just quietly unhinged every time he opens his mouth i burst into laughter
Emotionally Damaged 💔 👤
Are you fr...? He is bland af.
It's honestly not offensive at all when people try our accents. If you do it badly it's just cute. If you do it well it's very impressive, it's a hard accent.
English accent = hard
Welsh accent = impossible
My friend was telling me how rude it is when I try to imitate an accent. And I think that is just stupid, how would it be offensive?? If anyone gets offended, they are just being too sensitive.
It is extremely hard to imitate an accent, be that of any origin. If you are able to do just that, nobody will be upset, just impressed.
@@balazs7235 it’s usually only offensive if you’re mocking the accent or purposely doing it badly
@@junhansguitar1036 Exactly. It can definitely be rude. For example as a Swede, I don't really get offended by people doing the Swedish Chef but it's just completely wrong so it's just awkward tbh. And it shows a lack of respect for the language. Basically, don't do it unless you know it'll be well received because people have all the right to get mad about it.
Agreed it's a hard accent. I couldn't watch a single British movie without the subtitles.
It’s so nice to see JOLLY X Watcher again! Our favourite chaotic quintet is back to make us happy.
Wouldn't it be a quintet?
@@MemClem I didn’t know Steven would be a part of it.
It was a crossover I didn’t know I needed
I’m commenting before liking, but it currently says 555 likes, which matches well with the term quintet
I love how mindblown the Watcher bois were about JOLLY = Josh + Ollie
Ryan briefly ascended to a different dimension 💀
Same face that Ryan gets when he thinks he cracked a case in the True Crime series...
Or when he thinks he witnessed something paranormal...
@@geniousjinious3477 lmao
@@geniousjinious3477 he always thinks he witnessed something paranormal
The funny thing is that Josh definitely has an American/non-British accent that mostly comes out when he's alone with his wife Gabie (if Ollie is with them the British jumps out)
I agree.
Yes exactly!!!
josh seems to adapt well to languages so his British accent probably fades a little when he speaks with gabie whos accent is more american.
@@duckiechen1321 He has an English accent...
He was an international student as a kid, so it's common to develop kinda a "medley" accent that can shift easily.
I think it is Shane's midwestern heritage. We have all the weird slang here that makes no sense so he just applied the weirdness to the accent and figured it all out.
🤣🤣 omg this made laugh so hard!👍🏻
or he just watched a lot of telly as all of us do
Ryan: *a crackhead and he knows it*
Shane: *unpredictable chaos every time*
Steven: *actually unhinged*
“I like going going over to the foggy town over the pond.” is so poetic. William Wordsworth and Robert Frost are QUAKING 🔥
I did enjoy a summer's night
In the foggy town over the pond
With respite in the moon's soft light
As on my face it donned.
Shane and Ryan's accent bits in Too Many Spirits have lead me to believe their British accents weren't this good. 💀
They were turnt off the juice of course they didn't sound impeccable.
@@TonyStark-kd5ti "turnt off the juice" lmao
* English accent
Shane kind of nailed it! Especially the “half” pronunciation
Alot of European countries use the comma for a full stop/period, in the UK, we use a full stop/period. Can get a bit confusing when you work with numbers from various countries 😂 the worst one when it comes to numbers is when America will write it mm/dd/yy because if its 01/04/21, that could either be April or January without context
Buying a thinking of money. Virtually every country except the US uses a, where we would use a decimal point. For example if something cost $15.99, you would put a, before the 9 and in the US we put a decimal point
@@LindaC616 The UK and Ireland would write that as 15.99 too. I think mainland Europe uses 15,99
I know that French writing conventions dictate the use of commas where we would use decimals.
Ex: 4,55$ = $4.55
In latin america we would also write $4.99 maybe it's just central europe
YES the date thing is so confusing
You know what makes Ryan one of the coolest people out there? The honesty and self-awareness.
Ryan: I like Big Ben, he's my friend
Steven: Big man??
Ryan: Big Ben, you don't know Big Ben?
Shane: I'm a big man 💀
I wonder if that was also a Sun Kil Moon reference too omg 😂
I love how proud Ryan is of Shane's Michael Cane impression.
The way Josh and Olly speak in an American accent sounds exactly like every other British person attempting an American accent and I love to hear it
Yeah just start off with McConaughey already.
I see you Ryan trying to win their fancy with that Paddington shirt...
shane's immediate yet casual "you've come to the right place" after josh says he needs a dose of cringe is perfection
The "Oh shit 😳 " at jolly =josh olly was me working it out after a year of watching them 😂
I love in America how “British Accent” is “Mary Poppins on Acid” some good efforts though 👏👏👏
Yeah nevermind Scottland, Wales and literally everyone outside of London ahahaha
I love how in England, "American Accent" is either "Texan cowboy", "1920s New Yorker", or "half-stoned surfer" 😉
i was absolutely crying of laughter when steven described "lost the plot" in the most literal way imaginable
Shane is a treasure trove of random knowledge. I can't believe he got zebra crossing.
For the zebra crossing: Shane might heard it while learning German. It is called Zebra-Streifen here, too. :)
Seems like somewhat universal concept in Europe, your Slavic neighbors use it too
He remembered more than "mustard" lol
we Indonesian also call it zebracross. I don't know if it's a loan word from the Dutch or not
@@akmalwazir4l Might be, in Dutch it's zebrapad (zebra-path)
@@eliskaneugebauer5338 Exactly, in Polish we just call it "zebra" or (even more often) "pasy" which stands for "stripes".
Did you tell them you think blackcurrants are a spice, Shane
😂😂😂😂 I forgot this happened. And they had no clue what blackcurrant squash was... Oh no.
I only learned that word existed like last week 😭
@@windrawindra1080 Are you from America? I can’t imagine not knowing what blackcurrants are!
@@charlief2085 yes I’m from USA. I had never heard that word before or even knew what it was. I did some research and I think they were banned here? Probably explains why I had never heard of them.
@@charlief2085 Blackcurrants were actually banned in the US for a while because the bushes were mistakenly believed to be the cause of some sort of tree disease, so they never really became culturally relevant here. To add to the confusion, we do have a product that's just called "currants," which are actually just raisins made from a specific type of grape, and companies sometimes falsely label them as blackcurrants. So a lot of Americans have simply never had the opportunity to try the real ones.
the way i was like "this is too easy" and then remembered that my country got colonised not even 200 years ago and up until like the 50s everyone here still kinda spoke with an english accent
tHIS XDD
same
I love seeing Steven in his own little world, throwing markers in the air and trying to come up with the most ridiculous definitions he can think of
I'm always in awe of how good Shane is at guessing slang and I have no idea why.
In fairness there are an AWFUL lot of British accents! Shane was going for Cockney (which is a London based accent) but this is wildly different to Brummy (Birmingham), Scouse (Liverpool) Manc (Manchester), Brizzle (Bristol), the list goes on and on and on! And that’s just England, let alone Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland! You should do a whole bit trying to guess the British accents! 🤣
Also there are a lot of differences between areas of London - a North London accent is different to that to South London plus then you have an Estuary accent (mainly Essex, Kent and Sussex) which is similar to a Cockney but with a few subtleties between them.
I'd love to see people try and emulate my Bristolian accent, or try and guess what "gert lush" means that would be hilarious
Same with American accents!
Shane: attractively
Shane with a British accent: illegally attractive
While Steven and Ryan were out playing their sports, Shane watched enough TV and consumed enough internet to learn every word or saying known to mankind
I love that whenever English people attempt an American accent they almost always go southern with it. I mean, of all the different dialects it is one of the more distinct I suppose.
It's easier because it's slower and the mouth actions are more exaggerated.
I think people usually go for a southern or a New York accent because they’re more exaggerated whereas like an LA accent is more subtle. It’s harder to replicate a subtle accent.
i'm amazed that shane knows zebra crossing but is unsure whether the UK uses pounds or euros lmao
5:11 shane's pure concentration in "size of a tangerine" and their utter confusion to it
I watched a bunch of tangerine edits after this and died laughing
I love this and it's funny seeing Josh struggle with an American accent because he actually talks in one naturally when he talks to his wife. If you watch some of Gabie's videos when it is just her and Josh, he changes his accent without being aware of it and he goes much more American. It's so interesting.
as a brit I was so proud of shane for getting ledge, and his british accent LMAO.
I’m so happy in the knowledge that Shane watched ‘The Gilded Age’ because I loved it. It was made by an English person but everyone in it was mostly American.
Brits wouldn't say the Gilded Age. I wish Julian Fellows would make a cross over and have it of when Lord and Lady (Cora) Grantham get together
As a Scottish gal, id happily adopt shane into the family as an honorary Brit. 🏴
As someone from the south of Britain (England) I can’t help but agree
i agree - welsh person (cymraes)
Brits getting along for once. Splendid.
Let's crack open a tall boy. Is Ryan threating Shane again?
Shane: I'm big men
Ryan: I'd crack that!
Nice video, they should try to do the English Yorkshire accent, that would have been funny to watch. They should go more northern for the accents rather than the London area.
I think I would have lost my mind listening to them trying to do geordie or scouse honestly
True they should’ve done more varied accents
Liking all the suggestions, would be cool to hear their attempts 😂
@@jimmy1929 Also calling a southern English accent a 'British' accent is a sure-fire way to get the northerners, midlanders, Scottish and Welsh all riled up 😅
London accent is the beginners' accent right?
The visceral “what… the fuck” in reaction to Steven’s definition of fiver JDBDJHDD
Still can't believe that my all time favorite youtubers are together. Jolly and Watcher are the best and coolest people!
13:45 The Netherlands do, Ryan! In The Netherlands a comma is a period and a period is a comma. So you'll get like 3,75€ (for three point seventy five) or 1.223€ (one thousand etc etc). 🦁
I could watch people attempting each other’s accents for a full month and not get bored. I dunno. It’s so adorable and humanizing
The paddington shirt is a nice touch for the episode 🐻❤️🍯
"im big men" had me rolling
Steven, on behalf of most of the world, thank you for not backing down on not having an issue in making a mockery out of the UK. They deserve it (:
Bruh
Yeah man put the colonizers in place 😎
I mean, we Brits are generally the first in line to do so. :D
Ahahahahha
true
my favorite people on the internet together in a video cracking themselves up imitating each other's accent, IS THIS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE???
loved this collab! i can't wait till steve, ryan & shane visits london to be with ollie & josh❤️
That zebra crossing is the one on abbey road! I have the webcam for it running on my second screen most the time, including whilst watching this video!
Loved this!! My 2 favorite UA-cam channels collaborated again. ❤❤❤
Shane is the professor so yeah, makes sense he wins
He can't be because the Professor is canonically dead
@@doctor_gibbo1392 didn't you see the preview for the upcoming season??

Yes Watcher!!! This content is so good! Been watching you 3 since ur days at BF.. subscribed since watchers inception.. Jolly I’ve been sub’d to for 2 years…. Love this collaboration so much 🫶 Josh and Olly should be in more vids if U can 🤩
It's the euro that uses the "," instead of the "." I learned that when I visited my boyfriend in the Netherlands and was terrified when I saw a price of something and I thought it was worth like a thousand something 🤣
This is COMEDY GOLD! 😂🤩✨
I just love all of them.
Hell yea! 2 of my favorite channels. Lets go!
As a British person when they said fiver I was like "oh one I don't know" but then it was £5.... Like I didn't even think that was slang it is just so natural
Amazing collaboration! ✨Love ALL these guys !! 💕
What you US folk often don't realise is the Brits you see in movies and on TV speak very nicely like Hugh Grant or Michael Caine. You don't hear the regional accents that the majority of the country speaks. Someone from Glasgow or Newcastle or the Welsh Valleys would sound completely different and you'd probably need subtitles! And we swear a hell of a lot more in real life too.
steven is just going for whatever he’s thinking and i’m here for it
OMG OMG WHY DIDNT I NOTICE THIS VIDEO, I LOVE Josh and Ollie and Shane and Ryan, this is amazing collab 💛💛💛💛
I'm soooo happy to see my youtube faves together! I was literally cackling the entire time.
I love Steven saying he has no problem mocking people while in a shirt that says “Hate is a virus”. Mocking and hate aren’t the same, I know, the juxtaposition still tickled me. Thank you!
hes malaysian he gets to be a Little anglophobic. as a Treat
i love how shane and ryan are always in sync with their answers and steven is just completely off
They’ve come so far. 😭😭 congrats, Oilie and Jolly!
i wasnt expecting to get emotional watching this lmao, watching ryan and shane and josh and ollie in collab- who's vidoes cheered me up during many stressful times was strangely sentimental
Shane: i am distinguished gentleman with knowLEDGE of foreign languages
Also Shane: *blackcurrant is spice*
omg "LeT's cRAcK oPEn A-"
I lost it
He really did sound like Foghorn Leghorn
As an American, this is actually kind of fascinating to me, though. Does the "standard" American accent really sound to the rest of the world the way the Southern American accent sounds to us?
I think its just the most cliche and extreme version along with the California surfer type accent so its the ones people fixate on :)
@@glowwwwwwstick oh thank you! I didn't know that. And um, it's a little difficult because there are a TON of accents and regional dialects like with anywhere!
Like @declangraham mentioned there is the "california surfer dude". There's also a "new yorker" accent, a "boston" accent, a "new jersey" accent, and of course the southern accent, but I think most americans fall somewhere under the "midwest" accent with faint flavor shifts depending on which part of the united states you live in. Although of course, some places really do have extreme accents.
Personally, I've lived in Nevada, California, Florida, and Michigan so I've gotten to hear accents from a few places and most people really do sound the same. Tbh the most that changes is the slang (people say "pop" when they mean "soda" in the mid west and that was so weird to me as a west-coast kid).
@@glowwwwwwstick Standard US accent would be Midwestern, AKA American Newscaster. People with strong regional dialects often seek to emulate this if they work in communications, and yeah this is my natural accent 😁
@@Nyitemare Definitely agree lol. Likewise, Americans will always seem to go with a Cockney or cartoon like posh accent for 'British'. 😁
I love this so much. My tummy is tickled with laughter.
I love Jolly. It’s so exciting to have them with the Watcher boys too
I LOVE THIS CROSSOVER
I don't know why, but the soft yet intense WE WERE IN BURMA made me laugh so hard i cried

I wanted MORE, love you guys attempting our slang innit 😂♥️
Holy Smokes! I’m Chilean and we also call it a “zebra crossing” 😂
This video was desperately needed. These guys have been slowly damaging my delicate British ears over the last few years.
Would be cool to see them spend many hours with a coach to learn accents
와웅 jolly!! 여기서 볼줄 몰랐어요 반가워요☺️☺️
Steven always goes for such bright pretty colors! I love that!
Normalise using the term ‘lost the plop’ in everyday interaction.
I laughed so hard I cried and woke up my mom, this is brilliant!
my two favourite duos collabing is the best part of 2022 so far
Gotta say, Steven has gotta have one of the most unusual brains on planet earth. I’m constantly amazed to think that he exists even when we’re not looking at him.
Josh cringing at himself gives me life 🤣💗
my british relatives say "pedestrian crossing" not "zebra crossing", but also crosswalks at stoplights are called "pelican crossings" which evolved from "pelicon crossing" which stood for "PEdestrian LIght COntrolled crossing” which is so funny
In the UK, we say zebra crossing as a standard. But there are more types of crossings like pelican and toucan which you have to know when you start driving.
I need more videos of you all together, just a perfect combination, this is quality content 👌 I watch you separately and never thought of this combination but since the previous video I just can't stop smiling, so funny 👍👍👍👍
