Overwintering Dahlias in the Ground - Zone 6B / 7A - How did they do? Was it a success?

  • In this video I share with you the results of leaving all my Dahlias in the ground this past winter...instead of digging them up like I generally do. Last year I left a couple tubers in the ground as a test run and with the success I had on those plants I decided to leave them all in the ground! I had 20 plants at the end of last season, at the conclusion of this video 19 of the 20 were up...and I can now report they all made it through the winter and are doing very well:). My location is very sheltered and right beside by house. Next year I plan on expanding to leaving some tubers in the ground in an area that I show you in this video that is at the front of the house.

    Interesting. I’m in zone 6. I may try this also.
