This was a blast to watch. The wife and I are heading over there from Orlando tomorrow for the first time. This is a bucket list trip I've been wanting to do for years now. But, it's a first for me, and it sounds like navigating that are can be a nail biter. I know my experience on Apopka was miserable because of how shallow that lake is, and you don't know if you're in 6ft of water or 6", which makes it impossible (or extremely dangerous) to be up on plane. If you're still reading these comments you got any tips? I'd like to fish this same area at some point prior to heading back home.
@@NormGfishing got my butt handed to me lol caught 2 little dinks, one in the square pond on a red eye lipless crank bait. Other dink was on a gold and black Cordell super spot
Coming down the end of February for 8 days of fishing. Mostly artificial but a little shiner fishing as well. Appreciate the videos. Might see you on the water. Thanks
Great video. I've been in Palm Bay for a year and half now and i still haven't made it out to Headwaters yet. It seems like there's always blockages and since i don't know the lake I want to get stuck out there by myself.
I understand. It’s not to bad. But there always some risks. I was pretty far south in this video. You can stay more North and be okay. If the S-canal has islands floating, that is when things can become risky. If you see too much grass/islands there. Turnaround
Awesome video!! We just went to headwaters today with our new boat after doing a guided tour with Roland Martin. Does the square pond have a ton of hydrilla now in end of June?
Thank You so Much Sir for this Vid, My home Lake is Toho and the Kissimmee Chain, I have fish Okeechobee but never this area, I definitely will be visiting, again TY! btw New Subscriber 👋
I followed your directions to the square pond and had no trouble finding it ,except for the blockages in the 45 and the east west canals, yesterday 3/19. However I was looking forward to fishing the trees BUT they where all gone...NO TREES at all there anymore
Norm...Great Content, so educational. Thanks...What Colors do you recommend for the Gambler Big EZ and what Tackle Shop do you support near the Headwaters (Coming from Vera Beach area). Thanks again
These videos were mixed bag. Not recent. Best time for rattle traps in the wood will be March through December. Shiners on the south side is anytime of the year.
Thank you
I just moved to Palm Bay area from North East. Need to learn fishing patterns at different times of year here. Thanks for the tips. Very helpful.
Happy to help.
Thank you so much for this information NormG! Being a local this is valuable info you are willing to share!

Great video
Much appreciated ✅
I even go far past that square pond. There is so many fish in those lakes.
Definitely
Wish that side still looked like that. All the trees are below water level now and not as many it seems
Some of the big storms have knocked a lot of those trees down underwater.
Going Saturday morning with a buddy, hope I can get him and I on some, thanks for the tips man!
Awesome. Good luck out there 👊

Good luck on that visit. It’s a beautiful place to fish.
Love to check out Three Forks but need a mud boat!
Three Forks is an awesome place. Some people take outboards. But, I would only recommend a mud boat there due to all the hazards under water 👍

Yes. The trees are under the water now. most of the trees have fell apart by the storms.
Thanks for sharing. What was the color name of the first trap you showed? To me, they both looked chrome/ blue.
The color is Chrome Shad.

I use Fellsmere Outdoor Adventures. Great shop and good people. Big EZ color “Red Ear” is the main one I use. Good luck 👍
@@NormGfishing Thank You !
Norm what time of year did you tape this. Recently or a while ago

Thabnks very much@@NormGfishing
Is headwaters on any chip yet? I heard a couple years ago some guy from Hummingbird was out there mapping it.
I’m not aware of one.
Stay out of my " secret spot" - lol
