Nice to see a parasol recovering video/tutorial that doesn't pretend it's easy. I've covered 4 and am currently doing 2 more and they're so irritating! It never fits perfectly the first time...or even the second time. I appreciated seeing that you had to zhuzh and fuss with it til it fit like you wanted. I'm about to lose my marbles with these two and I needed a sanity check so I searched and found your video. Thanks for posting!
I hear ya! Recovering parasols is always finicky and irritating as hell. I have another one to do that I am avoiding at the moment! I don't know why anyone would ever pretend it's easy. I hope my video gave you a bit of extra will to continue with your project. Good luck!
Miss E. YOU DID a Great job as always . I get great ideas from you . I made one for halloween and I put vintage black beauliful tear drop beads around the bottom of the unbrella. Bless it day.
Wow wow wow! Gorgeous work, Missy! And I didn't know until just now that my life was missing a holographic parasol, but upon this revelation I fear I may be incomplete until I acquire one. /retires to fainting couch to lament
Thank you for not sugarcoating the difficulties faced when recovering an umbrella. I seriously would rather know the obstacles I’d have to face when doing this sort of thing. I’ve bought two old parasols that I’m planning to put new covers on. It’ll be my first time doing this sort of thing, but I’m not gonna let any difficulties get in the way of making something unique. I just want to ask though. How do suppose I could make an underside canopy like the one you did with the mourning parasol? Neither of my old umbrellas have the under-canopy. Were the original panels the same size and shape as the top canopy?
really cool , i was wondering could you make the inside lining of a parasol waterproof , its prolly odd to ask that , since its to block the sun , but the process is cool to watch and all the parasols are really cool.
So amazing. Doing this or making your own clothes, I admire and envy that so very much. I can only do jewelry and such, which is great, but ah the money I could save if I could make my own dresses! Morticia
JekyllHydeClub I do love sewing! The more you do, the better you get, obviously. But it certainly helps me get the creativity out of my mind and turn it into physical things.
What kind of parasol is this? And can you buy frames for that kind? Because I've been looking for a way yo make a special Parasol with lavender silk and a diamond-y top ornament
Brittney Veri Sorry! We try to shorten everything for youtube. People's attention spans on the internet are very short sometimes! This is also not a good project for beginners. It's best if you have some sewing skills before embarking on a project like this. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on instagram! I would be happy to try to answer them for you.
Walk away when stuff starts going wrong / annoying you is definitely a sewing tip to live by

@@MadameAbsinthe i will do at some point, I'm currently binge watching my way through your videos 😎😁👍🏼
Looks like a lot of hard and complicated work. It came out so lovely. You are very talented.

Amazing so much sewing talent i love the victorian mourning umbrella. Bam outfit change !! lol. Great upload thank you for sharing.
This is NOT an easy thing to do! My prof. at school said only a true seamstress can redress a parasol. You frick'n rock!!!

Wow, love this :D more sewing videos, pretty please
Wow, I love this video. I also love to recover somethings with sewing and gluing, it is so fun, although also stressing at some moments.
I now need a velvet parasol.
Everyone should have a velvet parasol! It's an absolute necessity!
What a nice show :-)

So close to 1K subs gurl!
Thank you, do you know who the original manufacturer was? My relatives were in the parasol business during the gilded age.

Rust removal
I bind you, edges, from doing harm. Harm against others and harm against yourself.
I wished you were more detailed in this video. It's a splendid project idea but its too disorganized for me to follow effectively. :/
