I love parasols and unique umbrellas. My Grandmother had parasols and beautiful umbrellas. I have collected a few, that are modern, since much of my grandmother's belongings were sold. Your parasols are beautiful!!
I just found out about antique porcelain parasol handles. Some have gold gilding and courting scenes hand painted on. I think they are so cool. Ma am you are a ray of sunshine. God Bless.
Living in Florida I only use umbrellas. The sun can be shining and the next moment the rain is pouring down.... while the sun is still shining bright. They HAVE to be waterproof !!
Fantastic collection! 😍 Thank you, Christine!🤗 They are great. They all are so beautiful and so different! Such pretty handles, decor, shape and such pretty and different things which keep them closed! The pampon holder is extremely cute! 😁 And thank you for the explanation 🙏 I didn't know that these words are different in English 🙈. You are right, in my language these two things are called the same.
You are so welcome! It was a actually a Russian follower of mine who asked the question first. It was interesting to know that the words are the same in Russian. Languages are so fascinating are they?
@@TheGlambassador Absolutely true about languages 😃. Dear Christine, the follower who asked the question is me 😌. Nice to meet you😁. You can't imagine how nice it is to know that you decided to give an explanation because of my question 😃🙏🤗🤗🤗. So many thanks.🤗🙏
Oh my goodness!!!! I'm so sorry I didn't realize it. I appreciate the questions, sometimes we don't know how different things are for other countries and cultures.
Fellow parasol lover here!! Your collection is beautiful. I've been using parasols for about 10 years now for sun protection. Unfortunately, I have a severe sun sensitivity and so I have to confine myself to modern ones which are double layered with a dark or back interior, which limits my options. I've seen some really lovely vintage parasols that I've had to pass on because I know they wouldn't work for me. I always get a lot of comments on my parasols and it's fun to interact with people about them, especially when the sun is really bright and it's very hot and I'm about 20 degrees cooler than everyone else!
@@sophiepotvin5356 I don't have an actual link but if you search on Amazon under parasol, UV umbrella you will find stuff. Most of what I've bought are from Honey store. I find that the Asian sources have more feminine options
From one umbrella and parasol collector to another, your collection is amazing! I very recently commissioned someone to restore/recover a victorian parasol for me. You’d probably love how it looks! She did an amazing job. I believe she could help your parasols look as good as new, if you’d like a recommendation!😁
@@TheGlambassador I’m sorry but I’m trying to tell you the name of the shop, but my reply keeps disappearing. Just wanna make sure, are you deleting the reply or is UA-cam?
Love your collection💖 I always suffer from the sun as a very pale and photosensitive person but never thought of using a parasol! Ordering the everyday one you linked. Thank you On another note, I actually don't understand how people would take and post pictures of other people without their permission?!! So frustrating😑

Wow! Your collection is amazing. The "flower-looking-possibly-bakelite" parasol is definitely my favorite!

I love parasols and umbrellas also! They are super hard not to collect. 😂
Yes they are!
In Asia parasols were holdcabovr the heads of kings and vips as a symbol of their status
The longer handles held the canopy above the huge hats ladies wore
I am from Spain, and I must day that it's a pleasure to hear you speaking. Your voice and pronuntiaton are so beautiful and easy to understand! 🥰
