I have watched the 4/27 coverage more than a few times. I wish my local meteorologists here in Illinois were half as professional as Mr. Spann and his crew were that day. Alabama's got a good one.
I feel sorry for James Spann for he keeps on blaming himself for the death toll on April 27, 2011 tornado outbreak! Most of the deaths were preventable if people would've just paid attention more instead of taking every tornado risk lightly"
@@mikexxxmilly that’s true And I don’t mean the people that took shelter and then they died that day they did the right thing they died trying to save their lives, i’m talking about those who were in their vehicles or those standing outside to catch tornadoes for their social media liking knowing that it’s turning toward their direction!
If it weren't for James Spann and other Birmingham TV meteologists, the death toll from the April 27th, 2011 tornado outbreak might have been 25,200 instead of 252.
Someone like him he does it to help people and finds it a personal failing when he doesn’t succeed. It is a sign of a man who cares deeply about what he does.
Spann saved me and three others on that day. The house was completely and utterly destroyed, but because of a two minute warning, we got to safest place and survived.
I wish we had more meteorologists like him all over this country I am thankful we have Meteorologists here in Philadelphia Pa who care about their jobs as well
Im glad I got to meet him. It was 4th grade in a cold January he came to Winfield Alabama and I actually got my Fat butt on TV And I got to spoke to him. He was really nice its awsome to see him still on air
Wtf obviously he sleeps, he might just not do it often or deeply enough to call it sleep. But the human body and brain absolutely need sleep to function properly. He functions well, so I know he is getting at least short power naps here and there.
Thanks you James Spann what you do for the people of Alabama and the Community And keep up the great work. Thanks you so much James Spann ❤
One of the coolest guys I have ever been introduced to. Amazing.
James is (one of) our local meteorologist, and fellow NWS Ambassador to me.... He's a great man.

Me too twice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I met him a few years back during one of the storm tours.

He says he is terrible at everything even though he is amazing.
To be fair, a couple of those tornados were not survivable unless you were in an underground bunker
@@mikexxxmilly that’s true especially the one in Philadelphia Mississippi that thing was violent

I agree. At the end of the day, we all are responsible for our actions and it’s up to the individual to do what’s safe.
None of the deaths on 4/27 were Spann’s fault. In fact, he saved more lives than anything.
The death toll could've been in the thousands if it wasn't for him

Love you James
He is a truly amazing person! He happens to be the Best meteorologist in thee country!
I became a thermodynamic geek because of one thunderstorm in Montreal .. July 14th 1987 ...and also because of this guy.
Me to james! He's way better than any weatherman in dallas market. They don't even talk about polygons.
He once was in the Dallas market in the 80s.But for a short time.

James Spann is Alabama
I was a classmate with James Spann. I know he doesn’t remember me.
James span has our man if he can't do it no one can
Hey Noe!!!!!
I am in the 10th grade
Wtf obviously he sleeps, he might just not do it often or deeply enough to call it sleep.

He has said on Weatherbrains (a weather podcast he's part of) that he goes to sleep most nights around 1am and wakes up at 4:52am.
He can thank Allbritton for giving him a chance! If ABC had no affaliate in Alabama, James Spann's career would've been no more.
