I wanted to explain my experience with getting lash extensions, what I use and how I find is the best way to take care of mine - that’s why the video is so long. And also because I just love to chat - it’s who I am hahaha.
For those of you asking - I don’t do this every single day if I’m NOT wearing make up. If I’m wearing make up yes this is what I would do to thoroughly cleanse, dry and fluff up my lashes. If I have a few days of wearing no make up (which I do a lot) I would just do this every other day. But really the cleaner you keep your lashes the better for you, your lashes and your lash artist.

Hi. My lash technician said to me that the baby shampoo is not good for the lashes and the eyes get irritated and its not recommended for eyelash extension. I have Googled it and it's true. I have bought a special cleanser foam for my lashes. But thank you so much for your video so interesting but your using the wrong product to clean your lashes. X

The lipgloss wand is a great tip! I will be doing that from now on. I already blow dried my lashes though and washed them the same way.. makes a huge difference!

Such helpful video - I'm defo going to try these tips. I've had extensions so many times and have never really known how to take care of them. Yours still look amazing!
I am an eyelash technician and I would highly recommend you using a proper lash cleanser and a lash cleansing brush. Baby shampoo is drying and can cause your skin to produce more natural oil, this will break down the glue and cause the lashes to fall out. If you are to use it it should be in highly diluted amounts 1 tsp to 10tsp water in a pump bottle. Use the lash cleansing brush to get in between the layers and thoroughly cleans the base of the fans. It is recommended to tap the lashes dry with a towel to take of as much excess water as possible. Then dry with a hand held fan or hair dryer on cool whilst gently brushing with a “spoolie” or clean mascara wand x
if i was to do the 1:10 ratio, would a small amount of toner help around the eyes so the skin doesnt produce oil?

I usually get a lash lift once a month but I've decided to go for extensions for the first time EVER this Friday as I'm taking a trip to Edinburgh this weekend. I've always been put off having them due to the "high maintenance" but you have definitely made me feel at ease getting them done as you have made it look easy to care for them! Hi love! I’m a licensed esthetician and lash artist, great video! I find a lot of my clients get a better clean when they use a synthetic eyeshadow brush with the cleanser! Just brush downwards and across the lash line! Helps get in their a little more with the cleanser. 😊 beautiful lashes by the way 💓
Quick question, how often would you recommend cleaning them? I don't put make up on everyday.

MandyJay637 if you don’t wear make up everyday, I would say a few times a week (: if you have really oily skin, clean them a little more often! 💞

I'm so glad I found this video. At 51 I just got my first set of extensions. My real lashes are so long that even with waterproof mascara etc they rub off on my brow bone so I thought I'd give extensions a while. I have been scared shitless of ruining them and this is a lash life saver!

Hun, use a proper foam cleanser not baby shampoo, new research shows it is too drying and unsuitable for your eyes x there are sooo many lash cleansers on the market now and they are very affordable xx

I get volume too, but because my natural lashes are long I have to have pretty long extensions but I love a shorter look sooo much better! My natural lashes might be long but they look like crap though lol 😅

This was helpful. You have beautiful skin. One recommendation, do NOT tug and pull at your under eye skin. Under eye skin is similar to tissue paper, it tares easily as will then skin cells under the eye. The cells of your under eye skin only regenerates so many times until a wrinkle forms, getting bigger overtime. You are beautiful, we want to prevent those wrinkles!!!

I can not believe this is what your lashes look like a day before your fill.... I wish! 😣 I don’t wear eyeshadow and have lash cleaner from my lash artist and have a fluffy brush to clean them with but mine don’t look like this after 2 weeks. I am for sure going to try the blow dryer technique!

I used a cotton bud tonight to get my liner off and I yanked a lash out😣😓 it was my first time giving my lashes a clean....just got a full set yesterday. Super sad. Deff will use the cotton swab you used. Ugh. You live and ya learn
I just got extensions for the first time yesterday. They don't bother me at all, I was afraid they would feel heavy , itch, etc. Getting ready for bed last night I totally forgot I had them on and wet my whole face - now I'm worried they won't last as long because it had only been 6 hours since they were applied.

Brenda Lubeck No need to worry! I’ve gotten my lashes done now for 4 years and have a terrible habit of showering a few hours after I get them filled 🙈 it doesn’t affect them but I will say it’s better to wait until the next day to wet them!
3 months???? That's so good! Mine last about 3 weeks before I need infills or a new set
She would be getting infills in between. They last a month but you get gaps within 2weeks. I don't get infill and just get a new set after a month. But my lashes are long and I only get it for thickness. So gaps don't bother me.

Zoe Zhou baby shampoo is recommended because it is totally safe to use on babies and doesn’t have any harmful ingredients in, I wouldn’t recommend using a face wash to cleanse your lashes x
