Fractional distillation is a way to separate alcohol from water because lower boiling point of alcohol. If having a distillation equipment, making witch hazel hydrosol from plant will be more efficient and cost effective.

Hi, to use the undiluted hydrosol can give strongest benefits of protection. It is not usual to have side effects but definitely encourage to do a patch test before using on face if having concerns. Spray on the arm or leg and then try small spray on face but avoid eyes before confirming it works well for you.
When you add all that ice, aren't you already diluting the hydrosol? And the witch hazel came out clear instead of brown because you did distallation instead of simple extraction; is that correct?
