Its the fact that Jimmy saw an opportunity that he could take advantage of. He saw that Curly was having a moment of weakness, stricken by guilt. Curly's issues were that he was too focused on himself to be aware of the people around him, especially the man he considered a good friend. That's what the real horror of mouthwashing is. Not that Curly didn't do enough, he wasnt given the chance to really. And honestly, would you wanna antagonize one of five people on board a freighter ship in the middle of space? Especially if he's been accused of a violent and horrific crime like that? The real horror is that people will earn your trust, make you think that theyre the only one you should rely on, only to finally show their true colors and not even have any remorse for it in the end.

Not because he’s doing good but because he couldn’t go against his friends for shit. Curly is decent while jimmy is a narcissistic asshole.
Jimmy is my favorite character due to how well the game portrays his descent into madness, and very human traits of not taking responsibility for his terrible actions.

I like how it shows that Jimmy was never a good person yet he denies and tries to hide all of his crimes away by saving Curly and offing himself, showing that he doesn't want to take responsibility for his actions and what he did, so that he wouldn't get caught, he just ends it all in the end

The reason why is because jimmy purposely refused to acknowledge what he did to her. Around the time daisuke died, he didn't even have dialogue for anya's corpse. Not once did he show a slither of guilt for sexually assaulting her and eventually getting her pregnant or any sort of sympathy for her in general throughout the game. In a way, he was always against her. And because of how emotional and vulnerable she was compared to the others, he took advantage of her.

I keep seeing people thinking that curly is innocent. Yes he is a victim of Jimmy but he isn’t fully innocent. He didn’t protect Anya when he KNEW it was Jimmy. He also didn’t tell anyone what Jimmy did to Anya and even trusted Jimmy as a friend. Curly was someone who wanted to see the good in everyone but that’s exactly what makes him not innocent. Jimmy and Curly are both sick just not equally
curly is definitely not innocent, but definitely doesn't deserve to be put on the same level as Jimmy. curly's optimism and ignorance was his own downfall, jimmy's selfishness was the downfall of everyone else.
