I dont think u know what a MIDI actually is to be that disrespectful towards the original soundtrack that I actually have no emotioanl attachement to but still feel u discredit it for that.
I personally enjoyed the remastered version; when I played the original Final Fantasy X, THAT's how the song sounded in my head. People bitch about a lot, but there are actually a lot of games much worse than this one in the bad remasters category. Ignorance is bliss.
Original has something of a rhythm to it the arranged just kind of smooths over with this attempt at an epic sound that I think honestly is going to get a little tiring after a while, this is standard battle music after all and you hear this a lot in the course of one playthrough. I prefer to hear a snappy rhythm that I can groove to than get bombarded with music that’s constantly trying to be epic.
The sounds used in the original makes so much the personnality of FFX. Whitout it, it's not the same ! I played on PS3 the remaster and some songs are really good (Besaid theme, love it), but overall, the original sounds better and unique. Will probably buy it on switch now to replay the remaster with the original sountrack haha.
Well I don't know how I feel. because I played final fantasy x about a month or two before the HD remasters came out and enjoyed it then but I just bought the HD remaster for my vita and I love that too... I feel like this is what cheating feels like
As someone who is really new to JRPG’s. I started with Persona 5 Royal. I’m so happy I finally got to into Final Fantasy. I tried with 7 but it couldn’t grip me as much as 10 has so far. The arranged version goes really well with the visuals going on but original is still better for me
I hope you can give 7 another try! It was my first every FF and it's a clear favorite with the cast, music, themes, etc but even so it unironically took my 7 years to beat and I've always stopped at different points on several devices (mobile, steam, Kindle, Nintendo Switch, etc)
I know I'm very late to the party, but I've been occasionally gettin nostalgic to replay old FF games, Replayed 6 7 and 8 recently, need to finish 9, and I may do 10 and I have some contrasting opinions about the remaster music with FF6 vs FF10. I think FF6's remastered music is GREAT and faithful with selective additions to the songs to fill out where needed. Like the extra voice in Dancing Mad's first movement. I feel like FF10's remaster music went overboard. It's way too busy on some of the themes. The originals are a lot clearer and I feel have a bit more 'character' to it, where as the remaster added too many layers of extra 'epic' orchestration, which start to wash out a lot of the theme's core elements, particularly the bass instruments. I'm the type of person that like zoning into each instrument line to focus-listen to each one. The remaster is often muddy it's a lot harder to do that.
I finally got around to playing through FFX. I gotta say I prefer the new arrangement, except for the main battle theme. It just sorta "kicks" more in the original, if that makes any sense.
You have to be absolutely deaf or nostalgic if you prefer the original over the arranged... The ride cymbals in the second part of the original are so prominent precisely because the middle high spectrum needs to be filled with something... In the arranged that isn't neccesary because the song is an aural fest since the begining, although rides are there, subtly inserted into a mix that is finally proper audio and not just music info. I was recently finishing the HD remaster and I didn't recall battle theme being that good, even moving me to tears, so then I learned the music was arranged... And thankfully so! Also the added guitar parts absolutely rock and the toms from the drums are now the memorable part from percussion. Absolutely ADORE the arranged music and certainly takes the quality of the game to a new level.
Arranged soundtrack was engineered by a new age newbie.... its pure chaos which takes away from the epic vibe of the confrontation and has none of the emotional feel that the original had. they even had to sub in an electric guitar to make up for it, when the only electric guitar track was "Challenger" on the OS. not hating on it. but you had better believe as a die hard FFX fan i will NEVER be using the Arranged Orchestal Soundtrack. not by choice. P.S Challenger was forever the ultimate FFX Boss Battle Theme Change my mind.....
@@penguinlord9984The remaster is very muddled, the instruments are a bit difficult to make out which I think is a common problem with many orchestral versions. The original is clear and has excellent drums too which the remaster can’t really capture in the same way, also some of the synth sounds. Even the trumpet sound is better. I’ve seen fan made covers that are better than the remaster.
I remember watching the Dvd where Nobou Uematsu said that he made 14 songs in one hour. It may be amazing but I really wished he took it easy. We remember any themes in FF9 but not FFX. Maybe the Battle theme would have been better....
@@XDarket idk I think most people would recognize FFX songs over FF9 I've beaten 9 a few times over the years and the soundtrack never stood out at all. X was the last FF that had a great soundtrack that felt organic to the game. The only themes people would recognize from 9 was black mage village and the basic battle theme.
Goooood I hated that battle theme, I was pretty much sold with the HD version, makes the game so much more enjoyable to be being that you hear that theme quite often.
it just doesn’t fit the old style of the game and the instruments are just off for this, it feels like something that would be in ff7 remake and not ff10
Will always love & appreciate the original, but the remastered version is just a flat-out better version of it from a musical standpoint. Some may appreciate the ‘simplicity’ of the original though and I definitely understand that.

New comment but man, the remaster is so good
Remaster sounds better imo
Ich finde es klingt sehr sehr gut, ein neuer frischer Touch für ein so oft gehörtes Battle Theme :)
The remaster is way over the top. The textures and such are great but the faces have lost the "Emotion Engine" style.
yeah i'v noticed that the faces of the HD remaster look wierd especialy Tidus's face he looks more japanese. i actually dont like it.
Smiles exactly I was thinking the same shit when I played the hd remaster the faces look downgraded n bright in colour
The bass guitar in the original hits super fantastic!!
For me the original 🔥
Don't need to put on airs. And adding the sound effects was just cheap.
I feel they added too much reverb in the remaster, or maybe the type of reverb doesn't suit quite well, makes most of the instruments muffled
Final fantasy x remaster was my first time playing the game, and I played it with the remaster ost so I feel more nostalgia for the remaster ost.
i dont care...i just love this battle song...i think this is no1 ff battle theme. no2 goes to ff9
If I play ffx again it'll most likely be bc Auron is my all time favorite character
