You make a good point there. There is a lot of cartel-like behavior in the matatu sector, you can't just innocently come and join a sacco and make money. To some extent this is a pwagu and pwaguzi situation, where some elements are unhappy that this fellow can dare operate independently without their interference. But then the vehicles are also not following traffic rules - like most Nairobi matatus, especially the ones on that route. This one is impunity squared.
That's why we believe, if you want change kenya, just begin with yourself mwanzo.
Kenyans are jelousy of one another, thats why they complain about the owners of the matatu, rather than the behavior of the people who work for him.
It might be even the owner, whom ever it might, not even aware of his employees behaviors, but the employees want to associate themselves with power of the owners relationship with the president.
This are the reasons we say it's we the ordinary people who become lazy to comply with the rules and try to make easy our work easy, only by using the owners name to flout the traffic rules knowing very well the political cost.
The law applies to all but depends mostly on how we respect the persons or the law itself, that applies to both the law inforcers and the citizens.
