2015 VW Golf 2.0L TDI - Limp Mode Ref Circuit A open! Visual inspection for the win!

This 2015 Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDI stuck in limp mode! Glow plug indicator flashing CEL on. This vehicle has had some recent preventative maintenance and is now in pretty rough shape. There are multiple circuit open circuit intermittent/erratic codes P2456 P2452 P0641 P0121 all indicating there is an issue with the Reference circuit A. What we found was pretty shocking! Not a typical find but apparently quite a common issue after have the timing belt and water pump replaced on these vehicles! ALWAYS perform a thorough visual inspection!

Yes it was quite a melted mess! The shop who replaced the timing belt/WP had it towed it back and warrantied their work.. Pretty stand up of them, Good to see honest shops out there!

Thanks, luckily I didn’t need much on this diag lol.. I saw those codes and thought I’d be combining through a harness. Flashlight and visual for the win!
