I know you don't really follow this playstyle but for those who are more interested in having the ability to stand up for yourself if things go loud, you don't even necessarily need to set up a whole build for it, you can just put 3 points into Bullseye, put tombstone slugs onto the judge (you can one shot heavies as the DOT will finish them off and you can still blast doors open - the only downside is you have less ammo for making guards crouch) and then use a high concealment akimbo smg in your primary - like aki gen 21's and with hacker you have a pretty good setup for really no investment. Pretty useful if things go wrong last minute on a Heist like shacklethorne and you've already spent 20 minutes playing bag moving simulator or for Big Bank if you get a bad vault spawn and need to be able to hold out for a minute while moving the bags
payday 2 has made hybrid builds basically pointless. it's a lot easier just to restart than try to slog your way through with a build that is mediocre at both loud and stealth.
im personally an enjoyer of bringing the perk that makes ballistic vests stealthier, then running light armor, so I can just kinda tank a sniper shot from full hp on as high as mayhem
@@manboy4720 pseudostealth is good for Golden Grin, as you get way more XP doing pseudostealth than either full stealth or loud, and it barely adds much time. I use it when grinding infamies (basically stealth speedrun up until the part where you send the blueprints, and then get the keycard off the civ before it goes loud)
No lie, some of the best heists for stealth have been added recently. The fact we have a game designer who formerly worked on Assassins Creed really does show.
Nice! I've been running Grom Judge for over a year now, with skills to make it 100 accuracy. Its pretty nice, both for some light trolling, but also for the long range wall bangs. Great example is lining up shots on the camera operators on Border Crossing, since the bikers dont have pagers.
My only real comment beyond "damn, comprehensive AF, good work!" is that the newer "judge-style" pistol that has the push mechanic too is better in some cases, as with no buckshot, it can't accidentally break a window or something detectable behind the target.
Gecko, being a pistol, lacks in firepower compared to Judge, Locomotive, or any other shotgun. Sure, you may break windows more, but Judge is still better in my books really

3:01 I’ve found that acing Cleaner makes no sense here. There is no additional benefit beyond a second Body Bag Case, and seeing as that is your secondary in most heists, you’re only going to get just one anyways. Obviously if you’re going for the “one global loadout for everything” idea, then yeah, I don’t blame you for acing it, since it is more useful for heists such as Big Oil Day 1 or some equivalent, but it’s worth keeping in mind. I’m currently experimenting with where those extra 4 skill points would go, but haven’t turned up anything yet. Hopefully I figure out something soon that I can share.
The "all-around" stealth build makes total sense and I agree with it, but there are quite some things I wanna add/change: 1. I think cleaner doesn't need to be aced at all, since most of the time stealthable heists already provide you body bags in the asset menu, +you will be able to take one, as well as you have a judge which exceeds at throwing bodies in corners, all that combined leads to the fact that this second body bag case always ends up unused. (Don't forget the fact that other players tend to bring body bags most of the time) 2. If you have the chance to make a separate build for ECM skills - do it. I know this one was meant to be good for any case, yet ECM is very situational for some heists or for either in case you fail. Such a minor addition for a huge cost of points. If you need to delay pagers for some occasions - pocket ECM is enough and yes, it delays pagers without these skills as it is unaffected by them. Just overall, spend these points on something else, like rifleman that gets often overlooked in stealth yet makes it so much easier to do quick kills in stressful situation. 3. And the last thing is - Kickstarter aced, it should be a loud only skill and there's a reason for it. While other drill upgrades makes the drill actually finish much faster and give you less stress in leaving them behind, the kickstarter aced on the other hand saves you around ~8 seconds, even less if you have a bot that increases your action speed and the skill doesn't ever work 50% of the time. Overall, this is how I would personally optimize this build so I could spend the extra points on making the guns more reliable by taking skills like rifleman, shotgun sqb aced, shotgun impact and etc.
besides everything is cool here id just like to add you can ditch cleaner ace if youre gonna always take bodybags secondary because it only works for primary
I would argue that depending on the map gecko m2 can be better alternative to the judge. Sure you miss out on being able to 1 shot open door locks. But on something like framing frame day 3 where there are no locks you can open by shooting there's no downside and there is less risk of one of your pellets shooting a window if you're aiming for the guard and alerting everyone.
after using Yakuza for stealth the first time, I never changed it. the extra speed compensates not having a special item and for skills we just need the minimum for stealth specifics, Jack of All Trades and/or Drill skills and/or Saw skills
I have a stealth build that is quite literally, a Jack of All Trades. I've aced out basically every skill and deployable that could be useful for stealth. Yes, that means that my trip mines, ecms, and even ammo bags are fully decked out. This is because i love making a bunch of stupid meme builds, and i also leave out a few profiles for a fresh infamy restart or my actual loud builds, so i don't exactly have the room to keep switching profiles. Also makes it much easier to switch on the fly in case my team is bringing certain deployables. Are we doing shadow raid, got 2 people with full trip mines but no ecms? I might as well take that burden. You never know what could go wrong! Going on a bank heist but there's no one with saws? Easy, just switch to the saw and bring ammo bags. I even made a guide on this build, but it's a bit old and there's a few things wrong with it(Notably the lack of the Technician screenshot on my Burglar/Hacker section and the fact i aced hardware expert and didn't bother to go for aced kickstarter... For some reason). I highly recommend anyone who likes doing pub stealth heists to get a build like this, decked out for any possible heist or team equipment, not just for preparation, but also to save up on those profiles.
I've always played PD2 the same way since I started my heisting career, a literal Jack of all trades. Need to go loud? no problem! Need to stealth the entire heist? pagers will run thin but I'll get it done! Want to put sonic to shame with how fast things get done? Harvest&Trustee will faint from seeing their infinite money turn to dust! I might not be the ultimate heister constantly doing Death sentence heists constantly but I pride myself on being able to do anything and I plan to do this in PD3 when that comes out!
I'd say burglar is not bad but it's just outclassed by hacker and yakuza still if you want to have faster picklocks bagging stuff and faster pager if you play on the multiplayer go on it's decent
I was definitely not expecting the grom to show up in a stealth build. I've always known that it hits 26 concealment but penetration is a double edged sword. It certainly helps handling guards or civilians through walls but if that bullet also clips a window that basically requires a restart. An interesting choice though nonetheless. I've been getting really into stealth as of lately so I'll give it a go maybe finally use Yakuza.
Just one thing : ECM overdrive aced is not needed when doing a saw build because every door you can open with an ecm you can also open it with the saw. Otherwise pretty good video
@@TheKknowley hmm you can take transporter aced for heavy bags with for when you're using the classic yakuza setup although it won't make any difference with the copycat yakuza setup since copycat already negates pretty much all movespeed malus on heavy bags (except for artifacts but that's just for 1 map and i personally dont even bother to bag them anyway).
My personal go-to is trip mine Copycat. I honestly like to tell new players not to bother with ECMs as they are quite detrimental to learning this game's stealth. It fixes mistakes, but decent trip mines allow you to avoid mistakes altogether. (ECMs do have their uses though, I'm not saying they're useless)
I tend to use bullseye for heists like big oil since I've found that holding off the assault for a couple minutes is more fun than trying to juke out 50-80-108 cops
My only problem with the grom is the fact that you can't put a secondary sight that increases zoom level without increasing your concealment level to 4. Guns with magnifier sights with 6 times zoom can help locate objectives easier from a far away distance and it makes it easier to scope out the place. My personal choice for the best stealth primary is the Car-4 as it's highly concealable and has good dps for when things go loud. A good secondary is the Locomotive its just like the judge. Another secondary people use is the pistol that has shotgun push functionallity. It's good but it can't one shot doors open.

I would like to say, the penetration of the Grom works TOO well. I’m playing Framing Frame day 3 IN STEALTH. (trynna get sommelier en herbe side job done) and I kid you not, I’m pretty sure I shot a guard, then another guard saw the ALMOST SHATTERED GLASS AND TRIGGERED THE ALARM. Mind you, I was like, 1 or 2 walls away.
The gecko has nowhere near the same damage, which will hurt alot for any heist with gangsters/murkies. And not significant, but it takes 4 shots to open doors while the judge (and other shotguns for that matter) takes 1.
Hey, when I go into my perk decks and scroll down to copycat, I don't get the 3rd option for movement speed (Granted I haven't unlocked the perk deck yet since I'm a new player). Did this perk deck get nerfed or something? Besides this, great guide!
I am having problems with getting to the 99% berserker with molotovs. I followed the build and went with CopyCat and the Yakuza thing for the last card. I have 230 health and 20 armor but when i stand in the molotov to get me down to one hit to step out of it, it seems like I have less health than in the video as I am at 87% berserker instead of the 85% shown in the video. If I step in again to take two hits I die. But I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
IMO don't take Cleaner Aced, when are you ever going to take 2 body bags? You can't take both body bags as a secondary equipment so, rather put those 4 points into The Professional Aced for an extra 12 accuracy with all of your weapons.
I think the mentality is “one big universal skill set that can cover everything”. Big Oil Day 1, for example, has a lot of thugs and zero pagers to my knowledge. I agree that it’s likely not common enough to justify, though.
For beginners surely its nice but If you can read making a stealth build is the easiest Thing in pd2. Loud can be tough due to many variations. Grom is mostly useless due to answering pagers. Rather go with akimbo smgs especislly for murky guards. Cuz there you need the DPS.
+ a true stealth Player will have multiple builds. Yakuza cc Trip + Bag, Yakuza cc ECM bag, Hacker cc ecm, Hacker saw (ofc you can do Yakuza too, but using saws is mostly combined with ecm rushing) and If you want a Yakuza Frenzy for heists where you cant Molly safely - maybe i missed it but i dont think he explained why Copycat doesnt Work here. Copycat will only get you Last perk Card which results in needing under 25% hp instead of original Yakuza 50% health to get the Speed boost
@@BigPriq it’s just Copycat that has variations! The whole point of the deck is that it takes on elements of other decks and can always access their exclusive throwables.
Skills it’s super easy to learn and play around with ghost, is all you need to get low detection and stealthing bonuses, so moving on. Perk decks though, Burglar is the best to give a new player. Less mechanics more gameplay, there not worried about haveing to use that throwable so it’s one less key to learn early on. Hacker is the next step to get a bit wild in stealth, then copycat dominates as it does pure custom deck set the way you want with the addition to the fastest movement speed across the board when paired with light weight ballistic vest and boosted armor, then last best is yakuza for that best speed to start off with. Or just be a true heist player keep crew chief max detection so if your seen it’s all fucked and be proud your playing og payday the heist. Personal opinion on perk deck ranking in that order but also best way to teach new players the game, also not showing a new play a full speed copycat, or yakuza to them unless they just want to rush and ask for speed. Burglar remains top choice cause going slow and steady will teach you a map faster than blitzing it to victory with brute force.

I agree that kunai is a top tier stealth melee. High concealment + Poison makes it very useful in heists including gangsters and Murky's

Yakuza is really good on a few heists, definitely give it a go
my favorite optimised stealth build is the one with 75 detection risk, huge guns and heavy armor

inner pockets basic with kunai is useless and parkour aced is a must in stealth imo, it allows you to run backwards if you're in sticky situations

Challenge idea: purposely play the opposite load out as your play style an example would be going for a stealth mission with a brute Force build.

The difference between 3 and 4 detection risk is nigh impossible to notice.

If you play fun guns over utility, but still want to have 3 detection risk, go for the Gruber Kurz and the Breaker. Its just... TOO FUN TO BE LEGAL

Why do you get down to as low health as you can, I thought yakuza affected you below 25% health
It makes no difference in move speed, but increases saw damage (berserker)

IMO don't take Cleaner Aced, when are you ever going to take 2 body bags? You can't take both body bags as a secondary equipment so, rather put those 4 points into The Professional Aced for an extra 12 accuracy with all of your weapons.
I think the mentality is “one big universal skill set that can cover everything”. Big Oil Day 1, for example, has a lot of thugs and zero pagers to my knowledge. I agree that it’s likely not common enough to justify, though.

Honestly not a fan of stealth Hacker, I personally prefer doing things faster, so I main Burglar and maybe Yakuza sometimes

For beginners surely its nice but If you can read making a stealth build is the easiest Thing in pd2. Loud can be tough due to many variations. Grom is mostly useless due to answering pagers. Rather go with akimbo smgs especislly for murky guards. Cuz there you need the DPS.
+ a true stealth Player will have multiple builds. Yakuza cc Trip + Bag, Yakuza cc ECM bag, Hacker cc ecm, Hacker saw (ofc you can do Yakuza too, but using saws is mostly combined with ecm rushing) and If you want a Yakuza Frenzy for heists where you cant Molly safely - maybe i missed it but i dont think he explained why Copycat doesnt Work here. Copycat will only get you Last perk Card which results in needing under 25% hp instead of original Yakuza 50% health to get the Speed boost

@@BigPriq it’s just Copycat that has variations! The whole point of the deck is that it takes on elements of other decks and can always access their exclusive throwables.

Skills it’s super easy to learn and play around with ghost, is all you need to get low detection and stealthing bonuses, so moving on.
Perk decks though, Burglar is the best to give a new player. Less mechanics more gameplay, there not worried about haveing to use that throwable so it’s one less key to learn early on. Hacker is the next step to get a bit wild in stealth, then copycat dominates as it does pure custom deck set the way you want with the addition to the fastest movement speed across the board when paired with light weight ballistic vest and boosted armor, then last best is yakuza for that best speed to start off with.
Or just be a true heist player keep crew chief max detection so if your seen it’s all fucked and be proud your playing og payday the heist.
Personal opinion on perk deck ranking in that order but also best way to teach new players the game, also not showing a new play a full speed copycat, or yakuza to them unless they just want to rush and ask for speed. Burglar remains top choice cause going slow and steady will teach you a map faster than blitzing it to victory with brute force.
