What is wrong with some of you? There are those of you that act like Kip comes to your home and twists your arm to watch his videos. If you don't like it, unsubscribe, simple as that. Everytime Kip posts a video, we have to read the onslaught of people whining about ads. Get over it and quit crying about it. Bottom line is you have a choice, a choice of watching or not. If you do watch, the ads are part of it, accept it and quit complaining. Kip generates a large amount of traffic with his videos. He has the right to sell kits and you have the right to buy them or not. He has the right to include ads in his videos. For those of you who do not get the concept of DIY, move on, you never will get it. I'm constantly amazed at the amount of attitude I read each week, Many of you act like Kip owes you something, he doesn't. ITT: People who don't understand the purpose of a DIY channel. "BUT I CAN BUY ONE FOR EVEN LESS." good for you. This video is for people who want to BUILD one.
I love your channel and have tried a few of the hacks and ideas from your videos. I'd love to try one of your kits from your website. My problem is I lack knowledge of building electronics. I would benefit so much if u made a video on how to use a soldering gun, how to place electronics on the board, and maybe a short explanation of what resistors and other peaces do. The video could be a short 5 min video, where you walk threw a really simple project thoroughly. This video would b a great help not only to me but to all of your newbie audience. Please take this into consideration.
Hey kip thats a really good video. Any chance you could show us how to build an FM Transmitter? This could be used to transmit any 3.5mm jack output to a car radio for example. Id love to make my own one so that i dont have to replace the stereo in my car!
kipkay have you ever hear for battery-less FM radio also know as crystal radio, it is receiver that does not use any battery or any other power source to play radio. it is power from fm radio waves. i build one of those and it is pretty cool because it always work and you do not need to thing about battery or power.
Let's assume you are not trolling. HD channels are encrypted so you would have to build a decryption device. That is what your PayTV receiver does. So Mini TV is technically possible when using an LCD or TFT monitor, but only free standard channels. He has a tutorial for a special TV antenna on his channel though, you might want to look at this one. :)
Hey KipKay, I have an idea for a project you could make and sell. A electronic tic tac toe game! you could have red and blue LED's and buttons, then maybe a little speaker to play a little "winner" sound when somebody wins.
Dude, That was Awesome! I Love Radios! I have a HUGE VINTAGE RADIO COLLECTION! Transistor Radios, Boomboxes, Speakers, & My Subwoofer! They all sound pretty good! I like to listen to music, rewire electronics, and build things! Even ELECTRONICS! Sorry, I got to excited. I have a radio sitting right beside me, and it works, the tuner is a little finicky. But, the CD player works! I LOVE Listening to ALL, KINDS, of Music, in Stereo!
To KipKay or whoever makes this project, stations are only on odd number decimals (.9, .7, .3 etc.) So to find stations faster, change the code so it goes up by 0.2 MHz at a time instead of just 0.1 Mhz
I ordered this kit around a weak ago, and i cannot wait for it to come in! this is awesome, I've always wanted to make a radio, this is honestly going to be the first time I've used a circuit board. i did fix a broken radio once, but I'e never built one. also i was wondering, could you attach the red wire antenna to the Altoids style tin, and use the tin itself as a antenna? or would the tin not carry the frequency as well?
Actually radio was popular entertainment when Franklin D. Roosevelt became president during the Great Depression. He used radio as a tool to deliver speeches to millions of Americans during the Great Depression. #historylesson
I would use a 4-digit, 7-segment display AND an LCD display for constructing a DIY car radio and program the arduino to program the 4-digit, 7-segment display to show the current time and the LCD display (when the radio is turned on) show the current time radio source active. Tuner: Top part: FM/AM number, preset number, frequency Bottom part: Broadcast info (maxiumum of 8 characters, will be left blank if unavailable) Examples: FM1-1 100.5MHz The-FOX- FM2 101.3MHz 1013KGOT AM-1 750kHz AM 1080kHz CD Player: Top part: Track number, elasped time Bottom part: CD information (blank if unavailable, more than 16 characters will scroll right automatically after five seconds) Examples: Track 04 01:32 One Fine Day Track 04 01:42 Sting Track 04 01:52 57th & 9th Auxiliary cord: Top part: Auxiliary cord info Bottom part: Blank Example: Auxiliary input You should make a detailed D.I.Y. car stereo with a tuner, CD player and auxiliary cord input, Kipkay.
This is good. Before it was like "To make this you'll need an adaptor, a raptor, an alligator, 3 bananas, a fruit bowl, a pack of gum, a blanket, and a $20 bill. All this should be less than $10. Now just put it all together, and there you have it"
Kip....I'm digging this like a fresh trench lol. Great build and love the altoids can idea.....now, a question for u: is it possible AND cost-effective to make this unit able to transmit via bluetooth to an external speaker?
Nah you can't. They are crappy AM radio and a really low rage/frequency that can't pick shit up FM + no display. Also what do you not understand "I know you can buy one but this video is meant to be fun and educational"?
Hi Kipkay, Please tell us how to add a volume control to the circuit? Can you help with the updated schematics that accommodates volume control? Also, please let me know the operating voltage for this radio so that a battery connection can be added accordingly. Thanks! :)
Hey kipkay (or anyone else who is reading this) I have a question about your fm radio kit. I was looking around and I saw one of your schematics and it called it a "ATMEGA8" and a saw a different one from you that said "ATMEGA168" and then in the diy video you had a "ATMEGA328" in your build. So which chip is it? Please respond fast
How can we buy a radio kit without buying a monthly subscription...? The website doesn't explain it well. Just has the product with a $/month charge from what I can see... Looks like a scam if you don't cancel your subscription after a month.
I join a lot of sites with the intention of canceling right away. Sometimes i cancel right after paying. I still get the month i paid for. Also a lot less butthurting.
I really want to make this, but I can't solder the pieces together because I don't have the correct tools to do it. Just wondering, do the pieces that you have to solder already come soldered?
To be honest, I am alright with the ads but with the amount of ads you are putting in I dont think anyone is thinking "Where do you get the materials for your projects."
That allot to do too make a radio there's 100's of step when I can go on Amazon and buy radio for $10 but I do agree it's very education and good small practice of you want to be a engineer
I went to "documents" on your home page and also search for this project there but or did I miss them or the schematics weren´t there anymore, could you please re upload them if that´s the case or tell me where they are. Thanks. (sorry for my bad english)
nice project but you waste perfboard by soldering things away from each other and using wires you can save space and be more tidy by planning ahead where you put each component
This is not about saving money, its about building skills and in some extent, a stepping stone for our future innovators.
Exactly, people are idiots, this is meant as weekend fun projects.
Alex Preciado then y advertise ??? huh :P
srineketh srine so he can make future videos
A kipkay video without ads!
Well more than half the video was an ad to his website which has ads... LOL
use ad block... duh...
Well i do not have ads at all, using adblock..
Shirshak Bajgain Yes i agree. It's all kinda crap now.Used to be good.
Really, I got a 14 second ad of chevrolet malibu.
i love watching kipkay its so fun i dont build its just cool how much u can learn thanks for the great videos kipkay

Fm
Agreed, I could care less about the ads, I'm only here for the little projects and tidbits he does,
Legofan2676 *You couldn't
ITT: People who don't understand the purpose of a DIY channel.
"BUT I CAN BUY ONE FOR EVEN LESS." good for you. This video is for people who want to BUILD one.
I think this is one of your best videos. I loved it.

nice video kipkay i never get tired watching them thanks a lot :D
Finally a video without the ads!
Great project. Impractical but very educational.good for schools I think.
I'm sorry that people are complaining so much about advertisements kipkay.
True fans will always stay, And i could use a shaving kit!
I'm going learn so much from this channel ...thanks :)
Your everywhere dude 😂😂😂
The next time i don't see your comment on a video, i'm gonna commit suicide.
***** Nice to meet you :)
fetullah ydz Please no man...we love you!! :)
When's your next upload ?
A fun project, a video without ads or razors, you get my thumb up ! (only the cat is missing)
That's awesome. So cool. I might have to get one of those to try it out.
I've been wondering how to work with a digital FM radio so I can figure out how to rewind live radio, and this should be a great start! Thanks man!
Hey kip thats a really good video. Any chance you could show us how to build an FM Transmitter? This could be used to transmit any 3.5mm jack output to a car radio for example. Id love to make my own one so that i dont have to replace the stereo in my car!

Just bought the kit. Look foward to building it!
Don't forget guys, you can always go to KKK to get the stuff you want! Remember KKK, that's KipKay Kits!
For your next project, how to make a mini tv that picks up local channels in hd pleaseee
I hope you're joking...
Let's assume you are not trolling. HD channels are encrypted so you would have to build a decryption device. That is what your PayTV receiver does. So Mini TV is technically possible when using an LCD or TFT monitor, but only free standard channels. ok at least to watch free channels
Ya
he doesn't make those himself. He buys a kit for this, he is only showing how to put it all together.
Nice kit! Me - I'm going to assemble my Pixie QRP 40m transceiver kit this weekend. Centers on 7.023MHz and CW only. Yeah I'm a ham.
Dang kip you are amazing at this.
Hey KipKay, I have an idea for a project you could make and sell. A electronic tic tac toe game! you could have red and blue LED's and buttons, then maybe a little speaker to play a little "winner" sound when somebody wins.
Use Sarge as the winner sound everytime the blues lose... and Grif getting shot when they win. hehe
Zyklon - Drake. "This is the best game since grifball!"
Awesome! I can put this in my pocket and drag a 10 ft cord behind me while I walk!
Cool project!
I think it would be awesome if you could make a digital radio that could use AM and FM. If it had the screen and button input that would even better.
Am radio is kinda bad in Georgia
I know I am in Georgia but it isn't to static in some places especially since I live near radio/cell towers

Is there an option for a one time purchase without subscribing? Really love this DIY radio
Yeah, awesome project, i wanted to know how to build one !

Yaaaaaay the only video you don't have advertised uneeded stuff welcome back to no ads kipkay. And why do you have to advertise?
Actually radio was popular entertainment when Franklin D. Roosevelt became president during the Great Depression. He used radio as a tool to deliver speeches to millions of Americans during the Great Depression. #historylesson
Could you make a video explaining in depth how it works? It would be really cool and useful!
***** I do but it's for my Superfans on kipkaykits.com
U rock kipkay

Bottom part: Broadcast info (maxiumum of 8 characters, will be left blank if unavailable)
Examples:
FM1-1 100.5MHz
The-FOX-
FM2 101.3MHz
1013KGOT
AM-1 750kHz
AM 1080kHz
CD Player:
Top part: Track number, elasped time
Bottom part: CD information (blank if unavailable, more than 16 characters will scroll right automatically after five seconds)
Examples:
Track 04 01:32
One Fine Day
Track 04 01:42
Sting
Track 04 01:52
57th & 9th
Auxiliary cord:
Top part: Auxiliary cord info
Bottom part: Blank
Example:
Auxiliary input
You should make a detailed D.I.Y. car stereo with a tuner, CD player and auxiliary cord input, Kipkay.
What about a small transmitter, like the ones you have in your car? That would be a fun build!
this is an Amazing project!
Great project.
Is it possible to get airband (108-136 mhz) from this.
I made the radio, But all the shows and music I'm getting are in Canadian language for some reason... =)
Wtf? Canadian is English......
Mohammed Gharbiya It was a joke comment =) BTW.. Canada has 2 official languages English and French.
kvant ya IK cause im canadian, but for the most part people just speak English other than Quebec and British Colombia
Mohammed Gharbiya It's just a joke, of course they speaking English (I'm from Canada too)
Mohammed Gharbiya is Canada a good place to live. Planning to move here because the culture and nature interest me
so you give us the scematic for free but not the arduino code..? that's just mean...
I think KipKay might be the oldest big youtuber
Tyler smosh
wonderful project well done ....where is the schematic????
It's in the the description
thanks , i was busy when i watched :D
oops i didn't find it at this link
yeah, I don't think its on the web site.
Maybe it was at oen time. The link just brings you to the main site, but the schematic is not there. Its a blank page.
just saying at my local pound land (i live in the UK) you can buy a fm radio for a pound
Huh. So that's the equivalent of a Dollar Tree here in the U.S. Interesting.
pretty much
Nah you can't. They are crappy AM radio and a really low rage/frequency that can't pick shit up FM + no display.
Also what do you not understand "I know you can buy one but this video is meant to be fun and educational"?
i would love to make one and the quality would be better i was just saying that you can buy them for people to know
In the video he addressed the fact that you can buy a radio for cheaper.
All that spaghetti wiring made me hungry :3
Kip, where do you get all of the materials to build your projects? The parts are just too expensive!
Hi Kipkay, Please tell us how to add a volume control to the circuit? Can you help with the updated schematics that accommodates volume control? Also, please let me know the operating voltage for this radio so that a battery connection can be added accordingly. Thanks! :)
Hey Kipkay, can you make the Iron Man suit?
If you have an iPod or iPhone box the one you get with the iPod or iPhone you can use that because it is made out of clear plastic and it looks cooler
I tried to make two FM radio's both were awesome
Hey kipkay (or anyone else who is reading this) I have a question about your fm radio kit. I was looking around and I saw one of your schematics and it called it a "ATMEGA8" and a saw a different one from you that said "ATMEGA168" and then in the diy video you had a "ATMEGA328" in your build. So which chip is it? Please respond fast
have you thought about making this one of those subscription based things like loot crate?
You can use this with the DIY Mini Digi Speakers
Remember, check with your local broadcast regulation agency for rules on micropower transmitters... US falls under Part 15 of the FCC...
Wow that's great My gadget Guru Kipkay!
I really like this project
Your intro is so cool
Hi Kipkay could you do a diy fm transmitter (like doesn't require soldering or minimum knowledge)
Hey kipkay can you take than antenna and just connect it to the tin from the inside instead and make the entire tin the antenna?
You can make a fm transmitter? if so, it would be great to undertake a tutorial
Good video!
Great now where is the actual schematic
good the radio
does the beginner kit ($20) on your website include the LCD screen?
How can we buy a radio kit without buying a monthly subscription...? The website doesn't explain it well. Just has the product with a $/month charge from what I can see... Looks like a scam if you don't cancel your subscription after a month.
I join a lot of sites with the intention of canceling right away. Sometimes i cancel right after paying. I still get the month i paid for. Also a lot less butthurting.
scottydu81 Sometimes
Now we need a DIY FM transmitter :D
How about a DIY short wave radio. Just to pick up the stations, broadcasting optional. Preferably analog for cost.
please Mr. KipKay, when you say preprogrammed chip, tell us the code.
because in all UA-cam, you projects are the best....
Wow, a video that isn't a 1/4th ad for some other bullshit. Impressive Kipkay
I really want to make this, but I can't solder the pieces together because I don't have the correct tools to do it. Just wondering, do the pieces that you have to solder already come soldered?
Thumbs up if you heard Bon Jovi in the first 12 seconds
AdventureFinTime What song was it?
Leo Takacs // Scam Baiting living on a prayer
AdventureFinTime Oh lol. I'm a Bon Jovi fanatic but my headphones suck so I could hardly hear it lol
How much power did it take to run the radio? I want to run it on my bike as I ride.
Good project. I criticised you recently for producing rubbish but this is a really good project.
Nobody cares what you think but
csyd22
but what ?
What's not rubbish then duder?
To be honest, I am alright with the ads but with the amount of ads you are putting in I dont think anyone is thinking "Where do you get the materials for your projects."
I have the same exact black box as you!
That allot to do too make a radio there's 100's of step when I can go on Amazon and buy radio for $10 but I do agree it's very education and good small practice of you want to be a engineer
Ive been looking for DIY Mini TV.. Maybe you could do it possible??
What about a radio with an analog tuner or built in speakers with a volume knob?
If i had a dollar for every time Kipkay has sold out. Id have as much money as Kipkay
Awesome video 🇧🇷😉👍👏👏👏👏👏
Could the chip be altered to receive higher frequencies eg. to listen to ATC towers?
HELL YA!!
The first radio station he was on was 95.7 THE ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO WI
0:00
thATS SO AWESOME
I went to "documents" on your home page and also search for this project there but or did I miss them or the schematics weren´t there anymore, could you please re upload them if that´s the case or tell me where they are. Thanks. (sorry for my bad english)
Amazing kippy
nice project but you waste perfboard by soldering things away from each other and using wires
you can save space and be more tidy by planning ahead where you put each component
could you make this work on different frequency range? (im still talking about vhf but just not the standard 88~108 mhz range) if so, how?
I bought a DIY Radio kit when I was in like 7th grade. My dad help me build it. I lost it though😂
I used to live in south Florida was that y 100? (My sister loves that station)
Awesome video!
Go to your local dollar store and buy one ha
Make a 3d printed case for this!
Do more videos on little bits
Can't buy the kit without doing the monthly subscription??
What range does this tune in, can you find any local fire/ems/police frequencies?
kipkay what soldering iron do you use
Can you make a video on how to make a FM transmitter?
You're in Florida!? Can I meet you?! Plz?
Can u make things with other things around the house please?
