What is wrong with some of you? There are those of you that act like Kip comes to your home and twists your arm to watch his videos. If you don't like it, unsubscribe, simple as that. Everytime Kip posts a video, we have to read the onslaught of people whining about ads. Get over it and quit crying about it. Bottom line is you have a choice, a choice of watching or not. If you do watch, the ads are part of it, accept it and quit complaining. Kip generates a large amount of traffic with his videos. He has the right to sell kits and you have the right to buy them or not. He has the right to include ads in his videos. For those of you who do not get the concept of DIY, move on, you never will get it. I'm constantly amazed at the amount of attitude I read each week, Many of you act like Kip owes you something, he doesn't. This is Kip's business, he can run it anyway he sees fit, if you don't like it, don't watch, why complain? Some of you need to put yourself in check and get a grip.

I love your channel and have tried a few of the hacks and ideas from your videos. I'd love to try one of your kits from your website. My problem is I lack knowledge of building electronics. I would benefit so much if u made a video on how to use a soldering gun, how to place electronics on the board, and maybe a short explanation of what resistors and other peaces do. The video could be a short 5 min video, where you walk threw a really simple project thoroughly. This video would b a great help not only to me but to all of your newbie audience. Please take this into consideration.

kipkay have you ever hear for battery-less FM radio also know as crystal radio, it is receiver that does not use any battery or any other power source to play radio. it is power from fm radio waves. i build one of those and it is pretty cool because it always work and you do not need to thing about battery or power.

Let's assume you are not trolling. HD channels are encrypted so you would have to build a decryption device. That is what your PayTV receiver does. So Mini TV is technically possible when using an LCD or TFT monitor, but only free standard channels. He has a tutorial for a special TV antenna on his channel though, you might want to look at this one. :)

Dude, That was Awesome! I Love Radios! I have a HUGE VINTAGE RADIO COLLECTION! Transistor Radios, Boomboxes, Speakers, & My Subwoofer! They all sound pretty good! I like to listen to music, rewire electronics, and build things! Even ELECTRONICS! Sorry, I got to excited. I have a radio sitting right beside me, and it works, the tuner is a little finicky. But, the CD player works! I LOVE Listening to ALL, KINDS, of Music, in Stereo!

To KipKay or whoever makes this project, stations are only on odd number decimals (.9, .7, .3 etc.) So to find stations faster, change the code so it goes up by 0.2 MHz at a time instead of just 0.1 Mhz

I would use a 4-digit, 7-segment display AND an LCD display for constructing a DIY car radio and program the arduino to program the 4-digit, 7-segment display to show the current time and the LCD display (when the radio is turned on) show the current time radio source active.
    Tuner:
Top part: FM/AM number, preset number, frequency
Bottom part: Broadcast info (maxiumum of 8 characters, will be left blank if unavailable)
    Examples:
    FM1-1 100.5MHz
    The-FOX-
    FM2 101.3MHz
    1013KGOT
    AM-1 750kHz
    AM 1080kHz
    CD Player:
Top part: Track number, elasped time
Bottom part: CD information (blank if unavailable, more than 16 characters will scroll right automatically after five seconds)
    Examples:
    Track 04 01:32
    One Fine Day
    Track 04 01:42
    Sting
    Track 04 01:52
    57th & 9th
    Auxiliary cord:
    Top part: Auxiliary cord info
    Bottom part: Blank
    Example:
    Auxiliary input
You should make a detailed D.I.Y. car stereo with a tuner, CD player and auxiliary cord input, Kipkay.

nice project but you waste perfboard by soldering things away from each other and using wires
you can save space and be more tidy by planning ahead where you put each component
