Well said! Never give up! Try to use your finger as a "wall" so each movement ends flat on your finger. That's the best trick to keep the coil. I mean the index finger of the left hand. I am addicted to this! I used my six step looper in place of needle nose pliers so I could get uniform size. I have used 20g, 22g and 24g. Thank you for sharing!!

Yes, it has a groove around. You can see the groove at the beginning of the video. There's an old video where I showed how to make the groove yourself on a cabochon using a Dremel tool. Hope that helps! 🙌🤙

The technique it's the same, but instead of 20 mountains you will need to stop and check the length of the coil after finishing a new mountain, with the stone. You will place the end of the coil at the point of the teardrop. So the nod of the second wire would be on the tip of the teardrop.
