Second application of Doc's Super Juice and 2 weeks since Carbon X application

- Its been 2 weeks since applying Carbon X and Doc's super Juice. Here is an update and a second application of Super Juice. Carbon X is holding strong in the front yard and has kept a good solid color now that we are going into the heat of the summer here in utah. Doc's super Juice is doing well here in the back but it is starting to look like it needs to be applied again. I applied a second application on the back yard.

Brett, If you follow your dog outside with half a gallon of water and dilute his pee spot with it. (takes effort)
This will stop the brown spots in you yard as dog urine is very high in nitrogen and it burns the hell out of your yard.
I can't find anymore updates on the carbon x on your channel after this video 🤔🤔. Its sad you had to apologize for making a side by side comparison video, I would of loved to here your final real world impressions...
Nice video, Brett!
Thank you ben! Got the sticker the other day I appreciate it!
@@Brettsgrasscapades Perfect! Sorry it took so long to get it to you.
Just curious...you are using a liquid measuring cup to measure the dry ingredients instead of dry goods measuring cups. Is that what is recommended on the Super Juice packaging? The measures will be different.
Looks like cx was better to me
Hey good stuff you should look into a 4gal battery powered backpack sprayer.
Great Job.. Looks good!
Thank you sir! I appreciate you watching!
Drones... super juice... it’s all right here folks!!! Great vid 👍🏼
Thanks pal!
Your getting some traction!!!
Fingers crossed it keeps trending that way!
Just keep it up. I’m seriously considering if it’s worth it to keep making videos. Lots of work.
@@RickyDee3080 not all of us are over night successes like old connor. Haha
Connor has been at it for 2+ years and he
His lawn looks great as well. Your lawn looks great it will happen too if you really want it.
I’m going more of the family vlog rather than lawn channel.
My lawn is looking good by the way. I prefer to joke around the most.
I appreciate you testing them by themselves. Get to see what it can do on its own. Appreciate the unbiased opinion and not bashing one or the other, just saying this is the results from each!
like the video keep up the good work, no hate here I have purchased both and I have supplemented one with the other with great results. my hat off to doc, Pete and alyn for helping me with my zoysia grass and the education they have provided.
Congratulations on 2k
Why thank you sir! I appreciate you being a part of the 2k!
Both the front and back are looking good!
Thank you sir I appreciate you watching!
I believe the dye is just a visual that you still have product in the tub. When it goes clear you are out. That's also not the recommended sprayer. Also, your front yard is pristine with no dog pee or trafic compared to your back yard. Try strips of each on the back yard, strip of Carbon X, strip of no treatment, then a strip of Super Juice. THAT would be a comparison.
Thanks for the video, I really appreciate your honest opinion on both products. As a newbie to lawn care its hard to find a video that is truly honest and not trying to sell products. There is so much hype about so many different products so its hard for someone new to choose the one thats right for ones needs. Please keep us updated on progress. I find your video very informative and now I know that super juice is not a miracle cure I can decide to purchase it or not but will have realistic expectations.
Thank you for watching! Yes super juice is not a miracle cure but it is a great supplement that can be used in combination with other products like carbon x or pgf complete and will give you great results! If you have any other questions feel free to ask any time I'm always glad to help!
Lawn care nut tries to sell stuff that you don't even need !!!! SMH
Thank you sir for the Carbon-X review, your lawn looks great. 👍😎
Thank you sir I appreciate you watching!
I use PGF Complete and Super Juice as a supplement on my yard. Both of these products have produced a healthy thick beautiful green lawn. I am very pleased with the results. I might give Carbon X a try next year. Either way, I am sure both are great products.
I think this is a very accurate situation ken! Thanks for watching and for your input!
Where can i buy carbon
I have the same sprayer what ratio did u spray it on the lawn at ????
What was the setting used for the sprayer? And white was brand name of sprayer?
Is there any downside to using just one container of hot water vs the 4?
The hot water just helps the product dissolve better and faster; it has no effect on the outcome once they get poured into the sprayer cup
Awesome, it's great that your doing this video. I'm also expecting in my PGF complete next week. Looking forward to your updates.
Thanks man! I'm very interested to see if the pgf complete is all its cracked up to be! Thanks for watching!
I just put down my 1st application of PGF Complete. How did yours turn out?
@@brianbarcomb6818 I got very good results. Take your time and get a soil test first. I have been following all these guys and been laying Milo down for 2 since it's been hyped up. Now the hype is gone because it drives your Phos through the roof. Get a soil test and save yourself time and money. I trust in Anderson products. I also been using Lawnstar and Simple lawn solution products and I believe my soil is finally right.. Once you have healthy soil I believe the fert brand isnt that critical. I use Himic Dg, Innova , PGF complete I had to skip this year as well as milo. I used Anderson's 16-0 8 with Humichar and having awesome results so far. Will eventually try some carbon earth and N-ext products. The 1 thing I respect about Doc the most is he doesn't trash others and what their selling. So far I'm extremely happy with Anderson products. Not sure why everyone is hating on the superjuice though. I love the fact that I can spray down some good stuff every week or so. I have been following these guys for years and never once heard Doc even mention one of these guys names. Kinda weird why all the hate against another youtuber doing his thing. 10 against 1. I respect them all since they all are doing their own thing. Tag team approach is frowned upon though.
Your pilot skills are getting really good. Keep it up.... Your yard is looking sweet. 😎🤟
Thanks Mr Drone! I'm working on it!
I like your videos and I have focused on the Carbon X vs Super Juice, I think that one is more expensive in the end (The Super Juice + PGF Complete program) and not necessarily and even this video has shown an advance in terms of quality of your lawn, Carbon X shows that if you have worked and shows good results without supplements, without the water being transparent or if it goes up or down ... I already take my decision ..... black coffee or coffee with milk .... Clear results good videos and thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you for your input Edgar! I appreciate you watching!
@@Brettsgrasscapades Navigating in this immense world of youtube you find good videos, like yours ... videos with unbiased opinions, not opniones tied by a sponsorship, I really liked the introduction when mentioning that the products you bought with your money ... that makes your opinion more objective, opinion apart .... the lawn of the front is amazingly .... @@edgargomez8662 I truly appreciate your kind words. I try to and will continue to try to give my unbiased opinion on how I have seen products actually work for me. Let me know if there is any way I can help!
Doc explains that the dye is primarily to make sure product is coming out of the sprayer, not to 'paint' the lawn
So why couldn't you just use a dye solution to test the sprayer and _then_ use the SJ without the dye?
I haven't seen anyone demonstrate that it makes any visual difference without the dye.
@@realistreset8336 Doc has a new spray head that he is recommending which is less prone to clogs so he no longer recommends the dye if you're using the new spray head. Of course if you still use the old K-1 spray head you should continue to use the dye.
Realist Reset (I realize I’m 9 months late but just started using SJ)
Docs reasoning is pretty sound, I used it for the first time this past weekend, and noticed no color in the spray, fixed the clog and continued applying to my lawn. Without the dye, you’d have to rely on watching the sloshing product in the container. I was keeping an eye specifically on the color stream from the nozzle. So I didn’t miss much, and was able to cover the tiny portion I missed.
Very cool video. What's the rate you used on the carbon x?
Thank you sir! I put carbon x down at the reccomend 3 lbs per 1000.
@@Brettsgrasscapades very nice results. 👍🏻
So which one do you like better?
I actually don't mind either but if I was to use only one I'd say carbon x. Thanks for watching DK
How’s it gonna paint the yard green if you leave the dye out???
Hmmmm you may have a point Paul.
unrelated...but i wanna pet that dog
Ef Doc!
Lol at the mist in the air technique at the end!
I've heard it's a solid technique.
With polarized shades on while watching the video I can see a big difference between the front and back yard. The front looks a lot better.
Haha I can't say I've worn polarized shades while watching UA-cam now you've got me curious. Thanks for watching!
@@Brettsgrasscapades I'm a irrigation tech and I wear them to see trouble areas in turf. Never would have thought it would work on a screen though. Surprised me.
@@JSRocker1776 haha that's awesome I wouldn't have thought of that
I would be very surprised if the original polarisation is captured by the video camera and then transmitted by the light source in your display and through the polaraser on the front of it. Just saying there might be a little bit of science calling you out on that. Were you by any chance rolling your head while watching........
The reason for the dye is so you can monitor the product coming out of the hose sprayer... not to color the lawn. If your sprayer clogs you won’t be aware right away without the dye. Lawn is looking great. Where did you pick up your straw hat. Looks like a good one.
You hopefully are paying attention enough to notice the color difference when spraying. I think my wife got it somewhere local for me but heres a link to some similar ones including a flamingo one that I think is awesome! amzn.to/2Jf6O9M Thanks for watching Les!
Lawn looks great. So does your hair. Are you growing it out?
Stop it you're making me blush! No I'm just spending all my time in the lawn and not at the barber!
Have you dealt with GREENE COUNTY products. Not sure what the juice contains but I do know from experience that full apps of the HUMIC12, AIR-8, RGS, MICRO-GREENE, GREENE-POP etc are once a moth apps through a back-pack sprayer. Check out GCI-TURF Pete is the owner. He is a Strom 18 volt BPS dealer. Carbon X supplier for DIY and PRO and a supplier for GREENE COUNTY products DIY and PRO. These are proven products which have been on the market for over 10 years!!! Check it out GCI-TURF!!!
Yep very familiar with GCF. John is a good friend of mine. I'm planning on using their stuff some as well this year.
I do think that Carbon X is the better of the (2) in this comparison. I purchased a bag of Super Juice awhile back. I will not buy anymore. I cannot afford the $78 a bag for a "supplement"
I think thats pretty spot on in my experience. Thanks for watching Dennis!
I use about a cup for each application front a back , I have a whole bag left .I guess I enjoy spraying more fert than just one time granular. I’m hoping the super juice last the whole season.
You should correct your statement regarding Doc's recommendation for using lawn dye. It's not for showing where you have sprayed, it's for making sure that the spray bottle is not clogged and that product is actually being dispersed. Doc uses sprayers that use the K-1 spray heads which produces a more powerful spray but is also more prone to clogs. If the K-1 spray head gets clogged and is no longer sucking up the contents of the bottle, you would notice a color change in the water being sprayed and could immediately stop and correct the problem instead of continuing to spray just water. Please correct that in your next video! I think it's a good idea to be testing the CarbonX against the PGF Complete since they're both granular products!
You are correct he has said that. I don't think I said it was to make the lawn look better like some have said but yes I did say that it is to help show where you have sprayed. Yes he does say its to make sure it has not clogged, I don't understand that need honestly as you can definitely tell when you have run out or it has clogged as the mix is very dark greenish brown. I will correct that statement in the next video. Thank you for your input George I really appreciate good feedback and I don't want to mislead anyone!
George Wilson,
The dye is unnecessary and a waste of money. The super juice mixture is almost black.
You can most definitely tell when it’s not coming out of the sprayer.
@@vh8765 The good news is that Doc has now found a better spray head that doesn't clog so he is no longer recommending the lawn dye unless you are using the old style sprayers that are prone to clog. I would have to disagree with your statement that because the mixture is dark you don't need the dye. It really depends on the sprayer that you are using. The K-1 spray head that Doc had been using comes out so fast that it is difficult to determine if it is clogged. If you are using an Ortho Dial a Spray (which Doc specifically does not reccomend) it may be easier to see when or if the spray head is clogged.
Thanks for the experiment update!
Have you worked out what your cost/1000sqft/month will be between the front and back? I'm guessing you'll have to go ridiculously heavy with CarbonX in front to spend as much as you'll be spending in back with the PGF/SuperJuice combo. Might the difference pay for a couple bags of Humic DG over a season?
I'd also be nice to see how much time you're spending in front vs back...I'm guessing 1:10+ ratio front/back?
I haven't figured those things out yet but now that you say that I need to sit down and calculate that all out! Thanks for the idea!
Did you find that the amount of Carbon x was small? I put down 10lbs total weight on 3500 sq ft. Seems light idk. Ill wait 2 weeks. Plmk thanks
Yeah I kinda feel like it could be bumped up to 4 lbs or so per 1000. The lawn is starting to look like it could use some extra love.
@@Brettsgrasscapades exactly. Im gonna wait tho.
So which would you recommend, PGF or Carbon-X?
I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either choice. So whatever you can get your hands on is a good product I think! Thanks for watching pete!
I just received PGF complete haven’t put it down yet. I used Carbon-X on my lawn in April and the only complaint I have on it is trying to keep up with the mowing. Great stuff.
Since super juice is a supplement, you should do a section with carbon x as the fert, and super juice in addition as a supplement so you can compare the two combos (carbon x and pgf with sj)
Hmmm... you may be on to something Eric!
Are those divots or dog spots all over the front corner of the backyard? Both yards look good though bro!
Dog spots unfortunately! I'm working on it though! Thanks for watching!
@@Brettsgrasscapades Lime will help in those areas with the high acidity of dog urine. Good luck! Lime - Soil - Seed seems to be all that works when it gets bad in our yard.
Hey amigo how u prevent or kill seed heads? I dond see any in ur lawn
Not much you can do to prevent them. Just mow frequently and you will push through them. I had them earlier this year. It's a pain but they should be gone in a couple weeks.
2nd app coming this week

@@choppa5300 I found a beverage dispenser at Sam's club for about 40 bucks. All assembled. Holds 3 gallons. So I just mix the liquids in the dispenser, then pour it into the individual sprayers. But it will hold some iron stains in the plastic sidewall, so if you take one from your spouses cabinet, you better be prepared to replace it.
Hey was that Connor going back and forth in the white car in the background ? Lol
Haha its very possible!
Stick with the super juice only ,so we can see the results,I threw down milo in the spring and an off brand organic milo substitute last month.using only super juice now weekly for the same amount of sq footage. Scalped the lawn a little now Waiting on the results been taking pics daily. 👨🏽🌾
How you like the SA hat? I was looking at that exact one the other day...

Hey Brian. Thanks for passing on the knowledge. Your written description of the video needs to be edited. The second sentence states that you are applying a second batch of Carbon X. Obviously, there’s no need for that. Keep up the great work. Your lawn looks fantastic.
Looks really good! Keep up the great work. Do you know the dude who kept driving by?
Thank you sir! Yeah it's my next door neighbors kid.
Sounds like a lot more work to use super juice, comparing to N-ext products that's already in liquid form.
Hey, if you are going to use PGF Complete with Super Juice, to have thing equal both sides you would have to use N-Ext products with carbon X.
That's not a bad idea man! Thanks for watching!
That would be interesting, but to be fair in Doc's latest video he says that superjuice is not comparable to a granular fertilizers. I'm curious to see pgf complete vs carbon x
Not a fan of that Doc guy. His entire videos are infomercials. Thats all he cares about.
Docs latest video he says he doesn’t have a single weed in his lawn and then spends the next 15 minutes showing how he kills weeds in his lawn 🤨
😂😂😂😂
He showed a video of him killing nutsedge.
Isn’t Bermuda a weed?
Reminds me of his Liquid Aeration video where he says he's not going to aerate his lawn, then follows it up with an aeration video. His blade sharpening one is good too, instead of being about sharpening blades he says to buy new ones.
All Doc cares about is selling more product.
