Some plastic accesories can be wrapped in leather as part of a car interior upholstery. I decided to cover one of these items in leather to use it as a decorative pen tray in my shop office.
I would have liked to wrap it one piece, but I had to settle for doing it in two pieces. As this piece has an irregular concave and convex bulky surface I had to stretch the leather pieces beforehand to help getting a desired shape. Otherwise, It would have been necessary to do it in several pieces.
After wrapping process the piece was painted to get a vintage appearance. I also applied a sealer on top to add protection and avoid decoloration.

Hi Did ever thought of using wedge air bag for molding leather? It's usualy used for dents or any tight spots where you can't ged any other tool. Nice work btw.

What glue do you suggest to use for this procedure specifically and where can i find it? .....thank you my frind
For the difficult parts to paste glue I used a heat activated polyurethane glue. After it is dry it does no stick and allow us to put the leather in position. After applying some heat with a hair gun the glue sticks immediately. Check out the list in the first anchored comment of the video attache.

Ha quedado realmente bien! Si no hubiese sido por el pegamento especial que ha utilizado, haberlo hecho con adhesivo de contacto habría sido realmente difícil... 👏👏👏👏👏
Tiene Ud. razón. El pegamento de poliuretano es de gran ayuda porque nos permite acomodar las partes dificultuosas antes de aplicar el aire caliente y pegar.
Buenas maestro Cesar, eh visto en sus videos que usa esa pata para coser y veo que le falta Una parte del lado derecho, mi pregunta es: así es la pata o la corto usted, y tiene alguna finalidad?

Maestro el super pegamento que usa tiene algún nombre comercial en México?
El pegamento que se activa con calor se llama plastigón de la marca Sigma. Los zapateros lo utilizan mucho para pegar zapatos y tenis. Dicen que se activa mejor dejando secar de un dia a otro.sigmapegamentos.com/sigma-pegamentos-industria-del-calzado/
En las tiendas de artículos para la fabricación del calzado lo venden por litros. Lo utilizo para partes pequeñas.
Why is the leather so flexible?

Hi, what liquide are you using for softening of the leather ?

It is a leather softener used by shoemakers. In case of not getting it I have a formula in this video: ✅ ua-cam.com/video/r1X3sSjfgw4/v-deo.html
Notice: the application is just on the wrong side of leather material. After a few minutes of application, stretch it along the stretchy side of leather and other directions you would need.
Let it dry (a hair dryer helps) ready for glue.
