@@SunGodSports14 Nice! I always keep the rare fur females around in hopes the give birth (spawn) in a rare fur animal. I don't know if that's how it works in the game though haha
@@SunGodSports14 for all the other spieces that can have rares like the red deer, roe deer, white tailed deer, mule deer and Alaskan moose there are certain places in the lodge where you can place females of those spieces to showcase an albino or melanistic female. But unfortunately there is no mount for female bison but if you did get a albino female bison don’t discard the taxidermy in case they add new mounts in the future
@@Huntgaming25 if I were you I would take those rare females out because for 5 out of 6 of the species that can be rare there are a couple of mounts that allow for a male and a female where you can place rare females. The only one you can’t mount is a female bison so if you find a albino female there sadly inst any place to put it in the lodge right now
I highly recommend it. I started hunting white tail 2 years ago. Didn’t end up getting anything the first season but this past season I shot my very first one, it was an 8 point buck. The thrill of it is awesome and very rewarding. I got 25 lbs of ground venison and 15lb of steaks. It’s a great feeling eating a meal that you earned
That’s been my experience as well I’m a huge fisherman but after playing this and call of the wild I tried hunting and I loved everything but the cold lol
I’m not colourblind but another little helpful thing for me was to change the hunter sense highlight Color in the menu to cyan or magenta which contrasts the background much more than the typical yellow or white
I'm not colourblind but thought red was way too hard to see so i changed it to green and ironically the colour that would blend into the environment works better than the one that doesn't

I just bought this game after playing CotW for years and I'll never go back. I can always find nitpicky things but this game is the most realistic I've ever played and I can't get enough!
You answered all the questions I had thank you very much. There's subtle differences with how the animals act in call of the wild that I couldn't figure out in this game. It's crazy how much this game adds over call of the wild in terms of authenticity.

Although a stomach or gut shot is fatal, I really don't like getting them. The animal takes MUCH longer to drop, plus I will admit, it's uncomfortable to imagine the animal taking a long and painful death. Despite it being a videogame.
Dude good job explaining the game. I'm new to hunting games and this really helped. The only thing you left out was what accessories are the best like callers, guns etc
I found that the 308 is a really good all around choice. Not ridiculously overpowered, and for smaller ungulates like whitetail, I just shoot a little farther to soak up some of that extra energy..300 winny is another favorite, just like in real life coincidentally. It's a little stout for whitetail and muley unless you stretch the distance, but it's still my go to for elk, moose, and bear. You also forgot to mention using your photo mode to scout ahead and see if there's something out of your line of sight. Honestly it's the badgers for me that give me the biggest headache. I can never find the little bastards.

I don't know why I have so much patience when I'm actually in the field compared to on video games. But this game is a blast, I just wish you could choose ammo weights and types. Idk if it’s been patched yet but my buddy & I accidentally discovered a quick way to speed run the hiker perks. In multiplayer grab a Jeep, find an elevated spot you/your bro can jump on top. Stand/crouch/prone on top of the Jeep while the other drives around the map. You can watch the perks complete in real time. Bumps and crashes can send you to the moon so keep that in mind. I’ve honestly never been a fan of cheesing shit like that but I think it’s wild to lock those op abilities behind the high requirements so I don’t mind spreading the gospel on this one. @@Huntgaming25 the fucked up part is we were trying to figure out a way to “road hunt” highly illegal and unethical. But we couldn’t shoot out the damn window and exiting a vehicle takes about 5 dog years so we decided to human turret. Sure enough the perks started popping. I wish I would’ve been able to record the journey tho the outtakes were something special. Another set of good times with the boys. 10/10 would recommend.

"Little long winded" No way, brother. We live in a time where UA-cam "tutorials" can be over an hour long and are really just unedited and aimless ramblings of questionable accuracy. Just over 16 minutes of info is damn brief in comparison, at least in my experience. Haven't actually played the game yet, but thank you kindly for sharing; it's certainly bumped it up on my list of things to try out one of these days.
The smallest meat loss I have ever had, I just got it today, was with a tier 6 rifle on a whitetail, somehow. Forgot to check hit energy, but I only lost half a kilo, maybe because it was a 200 meter shot, I guess. It seems like higher caliber weapons are better to carry around, they don't cause THAT much loss of meat and are more likely to secure a kill on whatever you're hitting

I'm struggling real hard with white tail deer, the mission to harvest a male white tail with a single shot to the heart. theyre so tricky to stalk and line up a shot. Any tips at all?
Call one in as close as you can get it and aim right in between it's legs right in the chest, might take a few tries but just keep in mind where your bullet goes and adjust from there if that makes sense.

Do you need to taxidermize any animals you shoot for the quests? or does it still count towards the quest whenever you sell them on the spot.

Bought game on realese, but it was unplayable for me since fps droop was huge even on performance mode on Xbox series X. Now finally is a bit better and I can back to the game. Video will be nice help since i will play at least on normal difficulty, i just don't like easy mode in any game. Thanks
@rosalina2938 you should be fine crawling to at least 150 yards and taking a shot. Be sure to check and make sure the wind isn’t blowing right towards them as well!
how do you mark where you shot them while looking through the scope? just started playing yesterday and this would really help. i don't like how the hunter sense flashes so slowly. COTW had that done better.

Nothing wrong with that! I don't believe you can do objectives on multiplayer but I could be wrong, I have never really messed with multiplayer. To find collectibles, discover campsites and keep going to the question marks on the map. Or just google the collectable locations but what fun is that haha. Happy hunting!

Their is a perk you can unlock that allows you to be in hunter vision while walking. When you first start out and you don't have any perks unlock, hunter vision can only be used when standing still.

had this game for about 2 days then i decided to uninstall. most of the game is travelling to a location you need to be and then waiting for the animal you are looking for. not much going on really.

why is everyone playing on easy mode with hunter sense and all the visual ques. isnt the game boring with all that help? i started on max difficulty and its way more fun and critical to make vital shots, staying in scope to watch where the animal runs after a shot, tracking blood and patrolling around and hearing a call on your own then recognizing what animal it is and its direction or distance. all this extra information is sooooo boring

Im new to this game, got a PS5 a few weeks ago, this was the first game i got, i have COTW for the PS4, and im loving the game!

I like to run the .300 win mag for the tier 6 and sometimes tier 5. But I also like to run the .223 for the tier 3 and up.

@FabledOkami Give it a try! I recommend Way of the Hunter for a more realistic experience. There are plenty of other out there to try though!
If you lack the patience try call of the wild. It’s a lot more arcade like but realistic enough to feel like satisfying. I have them both but prefer COTW . Although I plan on really getting into WOTH someday

From what I know, Binoculars dont zoom, so its not a glitch or nothing. IRL I also take a fixed magnified binocular on hunts.
Put it to Arcade mode in binoculars settings , then can zoom out with up and down arrows 🫡
Does hiding in brush matter in this game?
Honestly I am not sure, sometimes when I am sneaking in the bushes I can get pretty close and other times not so lucky.

I just shot a young mule deer with 98% I really screwed up. I can never tell the little ones with the high genetics and I'm messing up my herd lol
That’s why I never shoot young ones unless I know their antlers look bad 😂
@HUNTgaming25 is it better to shoot the young/adult bucks and keep the matures. Or should I try to focus on shooting matures? I'm trying to have more matures in my herds. Basically, I'm just starting out, hunt in real life where I can actually tell. But this game confuses me lol.

why is everyone playing on easy mode with hunter sense and all the visual ques. isnt the game boring with all that help? i started on max difficulty and its way more fun and critical to make vital shots, staying in scope to watch where the animal runs after a shot, tracking blood and patrolling around and hearing a call on your own then recognizing what animal it is and its direction or distance. all this extra information is sooooo boring
