Bogachev fired all its intercontinental-range ballistic missile rockets in December 1997. In the same year earlier the crew of the TK-20 under the command of A. S. Bogachev fired rockets with full ammunition on the same type of SSN 941 TK-13. It is extremely difficult for the crew to do it without any accident. No one in the world done it before and after. These firings were a way to dispose of ballistic missiles that had served their time by detonation in the air.
