you forgot to mention 6 additional 533 mm tubes on top of tke 4+4. The additional 6 533mm tubes alre to be loaded in port only (cannot be reloaded from inside) and are available on the improved project 971

Well, as quiet as a 688, it isn't as quiet or as sophisticated as a Virginia. Very good submarine all around.

Why have russian subs such small sails?
Hydrodynamics and the bow planes do not require a large sail. Probably easier to maneuver under ice also.
