  • In this video i review the DeWalt gyroscopic screw driver designed for electrical work. This screwdriver is really designed with the electrician in mind, i unbox the new screwdriver, and run it through its paces to see if it is really worth the $80.

    This is the very best review I have seen out of a dozen. Glad you pointed out it is not for driving screws in
    Construction but perfect control for electrical work etc. Thank you

    It’s nice to see you use it for what it’s made for. Only professionals understand the importance of choosing the right tool for the job, but then again, professionals have enough tools that they can do that. Joe homeowner many times asks one drill driver to perform many functions. Or they might switch out a duplex with an impact driver. Just the nature of people and things.

    I'm seriously looking to get this soon, already have a collection of DeWalt brushless drills, but I'm looking for something compact and light duty for basic electrical work. Going for the 2 battery set though.

    Just ordered one of these. I’ll be using it for instrument repair work, so the clutch is a big selling point, as I’m always worried about stripping out the holes or screws on the small screws used on guitars/mandolins/etc.

    This seems like it would be perfect for those long ass screws that come with blank cover plates for plastic single gang electrical boxes

    Thank you for this review. You put a lot of thought into assessing the screwdriver and how well it works. I have a lot of trouble getting the bits in and out of the bit carrier and bit case. I try to push them into the slot and it may be that they will loosen with use. Any suggestions in the mean time?

    After six months of posting the video would you still recommend it to me. I'm not sure if i will like the gyroscopic though but I do love the design and the size.

    Why don't you have an Amazon store or links lke the rest of UA-cam to get commissions. You have a really good DIY channel. I'm sure many have asked what your day job is and how you afford all of your toys as well as find the free time for all of your projects.. Electrician based on this video?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  6 років тому +1

      I started doing UA-cam because I used UA-cam to find out how to do stuff; when I could not find a video on something “like installing a septic system in WA” I figured I would give back a little and make my own video about it. I did not start making videos to make money; my brother is the one that convinced me to monetize my channel. I work for DOD. Also time is a big deal for me I try and post weekly, but with my normal job and my family it’s really hard to get the time to film and edit. Maybe one day will do a run of t-shirts, but I can’t see myself doing it for a lese another year.

    Just received mine in the mail. Did you get any bits with yours? Mine didn't come with any. Just realized how old this review is. 4 years later still like it still working as good as it did found anything better?

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  2 роки тому +1

      Nope no bits with it, I like it so much I ended up getting three of them. One for electrical tool bag, one for in the shop one for in the house. I love that little thing!

    Am I a weirdo for using Hoppe's No 9 gun oil on a lot of my tools instead of WD-40? My rationale is that it's designed to lubricate and prevent corrosion on steel exposed to the elements rather than simply displace water. There is a price difference though.

    Yo your bit holder is on backwards

    • @DanielWoodell
      @DanielWoodell  4 роки тому +1

      I put it on both ways and it was still a problem, mostly my fault as i push the drill into a cloth work belt and the bits get hung up on it the glue did fix the problem for me though.

  • @OneLiterPeter
    @OneLiterPeter 4 роки тому +5

    Hey Einstein... Before you go gorilla gluing that bit holder onto the top of the driver... flip it around 180 degrees. You might find that it actually fits and stays in place.

      @@DanielWoodell Not to be toxic but it's also a screwdriver you kept calling it to drill which is likely why you don't like the swivel function, However, this is an absolute must for others out there buying an electronic screwdriver. I have to work inside ovens and dishwashers and behind panels that you have to reach into, you wouldn't be able to unscrew if it was shaped like a drill, there just wouldn't be enough space for the tool to fit. Without this feature, it would literally be a piece of shit.
