Not only is this a great tutorial for the GW-7900 but, good information for inshore and offshore anglers on how the relationship between the Sun, Moon, and Earth affect tides. Well done, WG!
Been looking at these casio watches for fishing at night (beach casting a lot easier without people around) plus because they aren't overly expensive and my new job requires extra good time keeping! Thanks for this video
I watched the entire first video. Thank you for making this one as well. My tide was reading correctly the other day but now it’s opposite for some reason. About to watch this video and see if I can figure out why.
Great review I just bought the Casio Tide Graph Moon Phase 10-Year Battery Men's Sports Watch w/LED Illuminator Model: WS1300H-1AV Black from Amazon for 20.00. Great watch.. Basically the same watch however the price of the Casio GW 7900 at well over 100.00 on Amazon, I personally think people are paying for the G-Shock name on the bezel...same watch if you ask me but the WS1300H doesn't have the round seconds lcd at the right.
Thank you for this video - I have the WS-210h and it was great to learn how to program the tide function. THANK YOU - great video and easy explanations of what the watch is doing. Far better than the printed instructions for sure!
Hi Watch Geek, great video! When I set the high tide to the first high tide in my local area (from looking at tide times on google for my area), it works great for a couple of days but then I notice it slipping out of sync and I checked it again after a few days and it was 2 hours out of sync so how do I keep it in sync?
This is great because I ordered this watch and it gets here in a few days. But i also own the g7900-4 and a lot of the settings don't apply the same on that watch. If you ever purchase the g7900-4 please sir please make this tutorial for that watches interface. Either way, thank you so much for taking the time to do these informative videos
Good vid but I don't seem to have an option to correct the high tide on my watch. Looks similar to the one in vid but it doesn't show high and can't adjust. I'm losing my mind trying to correct it.
Great video, do you know of any gshock models that offer: moon, tide, tough solar, altimeter, barometer, compass all in one? I like the new rangeman with the v3 abc sensors but it doesnt have the tide and moon functions.
Very nicely detailed as usual! I wonder if Casio will ever add some color to the features, i.e. blue for the tide and coloring for the moon. That would be a nice touch.
+whatsonthewrist their new smart watch comes with a color display so the options are there bug when it comes to regular LCD's they did experiment with multicolored ones where you were able to change the color of the complete display, I have one, but it would have been cooler if they used it like you said
I have worn this watch for about 3-4 years now.. I have recently started only turning power saver on when i take it off in the evening. and back off again when i put it on when i wake up. it only works from 10pm to 6am or something like that anyhow so its really not necessary to leave on all day long.
A very helpful and interesting clip indeed; having received the GW-7900 today. We never see the dark side of the moon from earth. It's always the same moon face for us, whether reflecting sunlight or not. Eagerly awaiting your GWG-1000 detailed review.
Hi. Nice work!! I wanted to ask you something difficult. I know it's hard to find one but it will be very helpful to make a video about dw 9700. I know it's old but I just bought one and it's hard to set it up.
My question about the Watch (GW 7900) on Amazon. Is the product new or already in use that you sell on the site(Amazon)? I would like to know more details...
An excellent and easy to understand tutorial. I've had my watch for a few years but could never figure out how it worked or how to adjust it. Now I know and your presentation was excellent and my watch is now properly adjusted. Thanks you so much!
By northerly and southernly, does this mean the location of your position in relation to the equator? So if you're north of the equator, you'll be seeing a southern moon?
Thank you for your video. My understanding is that the tide graph is not set by location but comes from the moon phase time. Is that right? Is the tide information accurate therefore?
I bought one of these several years ago, and I really don't like it. The moon phase window is so tiny you can't see it, and that second hand sub-dial--which is actually around how big the moon window should be, is a pretty much useless feature. The watch I wanted to buy was the awesome Casio module 3206--ABC, solar-powered, tides, moon, very readable... For some idiotic reason Casio quit making it, and the liquid crystal on two that I've owned failed after a few years of use and there were blank spots in the display. Great watch though.
I’m on nyc since I live in St. Petersburg Florida and my dates and times are correct but for some reason my tide is reading coming into low tide when it’s approaching high tide. I’ve even set the high tide in the tide/moon mode. What am I doing wrong?
My moon age is one day out. Can I correct this in watch or am I expecting too much from this watch. It says in manual that the moon phase diagram can be out by a day. Its full moon tonight but my watch displays one bar on the moon. The date and tide and everything else is set correctly. Any suggestions?
Informative as ever, you are my go to G-Shock guy. This model is my next purchase to go with my collection of "shocks" unfortunately it's out of stock on amazon, they have the black one but I find them hard to read.
Poz. Ovo prvo me svakako zanima. Hvala!
It would be approximately accurate, then you would go into the tide function and put in a known first high tide for a given day based in tide tables for your location which would make the watch recalculate all the other times
Sorry maybe I missed it, or I'm too dumb to understand how accurate this is lol. Do you set exactly when it's high or low? How is it telling you the tide with no location data. I just want a watch I can accurately set. I got the stupid Nixon Base Tide that just gives a SUPER rough estimate at the tides. Worthless for spearfishing. I know other Nixons you enter pre-set beaches around the world... But does this just sync with the moon phase for more accurate readings? (for example including spring tide).
Great video, question about the tide calibration, I have my city set to London, but am living about 600km away. Does the 'next high tide' adjustment work when you are not in the exact city that is selected?
Hello sir..may i know how to setting moon phase..my current moon phase delay by a day..example today moon phase 10.1..but my watch is on 9.1..my city is not in the list..i had select the same time zone city..thanks...
Ok thanks sir..actualy i had check all the detail..just want to make sure if there are option to setting the moon phase..but never mind..not a major issue..thanks for your advise and help sir..you are the best...
Us surfers find it very useful! I use a rip curl type of smart watch with phone app when I'm in the ocean but I may replace it with a watch like this in the Future, it's very useful!

As a sailor I understand this but you explained it very well and also explained how I can localise the tidal reading, which was what I needed, thanks
Came here to learn about Casio's display, ended up learning a lot about tide and the Moon. Thank you!
Bought this and went out every night looking for the damn moon. My wife thinks I might be a werewolf.
😂😂👍👍
🤣
Buy some extra shaving razors just in case.
Are you still looking for the moon. Answer quickly

Thank you, not only did I learn about the watch but the tide and moon also !
Wtf is tide !
Same
IMHO if the 7900 included sunrise and sunset it would be perfect! Thank you for posting.

I bought this watch with no manual. This tutorial has been a great help. Thank you so much.
+Bilko Prince no problem I'm glad I could help and congrats on the watch 😊
I have been using this kind of watch for ten years but never figure out how to use the tide function.great video
This was actual;ly a really good explanation of how tides worked. Didn't know any of this before.
I watched the entire first video. Thank you for making this one as well. My tide was reading correctly the other day but now it’s opposite for some reason. About to watch this video and see if I can figure out why.
Great and thorough explanation - thank you. The G-Lide GAX100b works just the same so I'm now all set. Thank you.
Wow, this was an incredibly well-explained function of tide graph Casio watches. Thank you!!
Excellent description of the moon/tide functions with great descriptions of the moon phase versus tide graph terminology.
Thanks 😊

Just bought this watch and I appreciate the great explanation of how to interpret the tide and moon settings. Thank you
Thanks, this is just a part of the complete detailed tutorial on this watch, so make sure to check that one out as well 😁
Hi Watch Geek, great video! Excellent video, your graphics showing the moon and sun explained it very well 👍
You the man on watch reviews 💯
I have one and it’s one of my favourite G-Shocks.
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
Great explanation with visual aid. Thank you.
Thanks for watching
Thank you for the excellent video. Your videos are always worth my time.

OK so just got the watch! Setting up the moon and tide graph! Thanks man!

Hi. Nice work!! I wanted to ask you something difficult. I know it's hard to find one but it will be very helpful to make a video about dw 9700. I know it's old but I just bought one and it's hard to set it up.
So neap is low? Spring is high? So if its on intertidal is that a medium tide?
My question about the Watch (GW 7900) on Amazon. Is the product new or already in use that you sell on the site(Amazon)? I would like to know more details...

Aye thanks a lot, now I know what my watch is telling me lol
Best G-SHOCK for me 😊👌
I have a Gulfmaster GWN-1000B-1B - can i set tide indicator to show real time tide?
Hi bro...can use same method for Casio GWX 5600 series to set up moon & tide graph?
Isn't the moon cycle being portrayed backwards? First quarter is lit on right side of the moon but yet this watch is showing left?
Thanks help to easy understanding
what does the L(Low) M(Medium) H(High) read outs mean?
I’m on nyc since I live in St. Petersburg Florida and my dates and times are correct but for some reason my tide is reading coming into low tide when it’s approaching high tide. I’ve even set the high tide in the tide/moon mode. What am I doing wrong?

Michael Flaherty found it hard to read at first but love it now
Very useful. Thanks for the video.
Really good explanation, thank you🙂
Great video and explanation.
Great video, thanks!
Very nicely done informative video. Nice job.
Could you please make a video for G-7900? You tutorials is the best tutorials for G-SHOCK all kudos for you
It's pretty much the same except for the RECIEVE screen
Very good explanation. Mmm. Maybe you don't need the G-Shock as you already know the moon cycle and its affect to the tide.
😄😄
Thanks! I know how to set the rest but tide and moon is a bit tricky... but not anymore! :)
I'm glad I could help

Pozdrav, mislim da Berlin/Rim ne igra toliko ulogu. Stimate prvu najvišu plimu, jer i sat pokazuje najvišu kad se ude u postavke
Very educational! Thank you!
Awesome. Thank you.
I would love a video on how the step count works! Thanks
ANYONE..WHAT Song Was that at The START Of The Video?? ANYONE KNOW?
THANKS In Advance :-)
What is the name of the song and artist in this video? Never heard it before.
Sir can avail this watch in Pakistan ? And how much price?
VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION, how do i know if my city is in the database in order to get the correct tidal and moon conditions. I live in Jamaica
You look up a city in the database that has the same time zone as your location
the tidal info however wouldn't be accurate
It would be approximately accurate, then you would go into the tide function and put in a known first high tide for a given day based in tide tables for your location which would make the watch recalculate all the other times
ahhh, thankyou.
What do I do if the moon number it gives me isn’t accurate to my location
Excellent lecture!
Thankyou! That was SO helpful!
Does Garman have one that does overlays according too draft figures programed ? Marry Christmas , Thanks be
P.S. Momma was a pistol , I'm a son of a gun .
I don't know and merry Christmas to you too
Fantastic tutorial! Many thanks. Does the gw7900 have a more advanced moon graph than the g7900?
I think it does, as it shows neap and spring tides
Thanks for your answer. Yeah I knew the tide graph is better this is why I was wondering about the moon graph.
Great vid. Thanks
is there any way i can change the monochrome display to white? (meaning black background to white)
Nope, that is a different variant of the same model
@@WatchGeek thank you so much pal

Great video, question about the tide calibration, I have my city set to London, but am living about 600km away. Does the 'next high tide' adjustment work when you are not in the exact city that is selected?
+Kieran Kennedy yes, if you are in the same time zone, you should be OK, just use the tide tables for your location to do the correction
Hello sir..may i know how to setting moon phase..my current moon phase delay by a day..example today moon phase 10.1..but my watch is on 9.1..my city is not in the list..i had select the same time zone city..thanks...
I will have to check it out on the watch and let you know
Watch Geek thanks sir
Unfortunately it doesn't have that option, you can only correct tide data, could it be down to DST or maybe your date is off by one day?!
Ok thanks sir..actualy i had check all the detail..just want to make sure if there are option to setting the moon phase..but never mind..not a major issue..thanks for your advise and help sir..you are the best...
Many thanks man
nice video! I just wonder, in how do i have use for this functions? i bought the watch ..
If you are a fisherman or a surfer you would use it to calculate when to go out to fish/surf
Watch Geek ok. What about the moon function?
Nice review, I wonder how many people actually need the tide and moon functions
+Tombstonecross fisherman and surfers use these :)

+Brenda princesa Lindaa yes, and very tough, I am still not into smart watches, maybe one day 😄
How smart the inventer is....CASIO has it
Is this the best Casio solar watch in 2023?
I have 6 inch wrist
Is it too big ?
Thanks.got.a.20$ casio tide.moon, but just sprung for.this,.under.100$. Shows neap.and spring, looks easier to set, and has solar and radio set
One question, when you change de high how do you safe? Thank you
When I adjust the high and go back to the menu it always show 6:00. I think I'm doing something wrong
It just displays the tide for 6 am as that is how it is setup, then you use the buttons to move forward in one hour increments. Your high tide is saved but the watch always starts the display at 6
@@WatchGeek thanks again
I actually own that model and it reminds me of the Seiko watch from metal gear 5
Which is the best gshock watch in your opinion.?
Currently the Frogman for longevity and worry free usage.
The new Rangeman is a game changer because of its GPS functionality but that crown operation can become unreliable
Watch Geek sorry i forgot to say "best gshock with lowest price".
GW6900 offers the most for the least amount of money

It didn't help me to press all the buttons, leave it in the dark for a few days... so I decided to open it and take out what is properly the clock and... Try to see if there are scratches on the speaker on the caseback to help you locate the position of the spring
@@WatchGeek thanks
Hi Watch Geek on my 7900 when I try to reverse the moon phase display as you have shown pressing the Adjust button only brings up the year which flashes pressing again it goes to day and month, can you help ? thank you
You have to be in the Moon phase mode, you are in home screen mode currently
Hi thank you I am sure I'm in moon phase mode - when I press ADJUST the screen reverts to TIDE it goes into Tide then top of the screen with 2019 flashing then month and day it just won't find the North South screen thank you@@WatchGeek
When you have the month and date displayed press and hold the adjust button to enter the adjusting mode inside the moon phase
Watch the video from 9:15 it's clearly explained, I'm guessing you just press the adjust instead of press and hold
Thank you I have followed exactly as you say but there is no way it will go into the screen to reverse the view. I live in the southern hemisphere and this would have been helpful anyhow many thanks@@WatchGeek
Thanks for the video
Great video!
Thanks 😊
Does the watch show moon and tide in real time like if the tide is high due to weather or something will it show high tide on the watch
+samuel usher it shows in real time relative to moon pull, NOT weather influence, so if there is a rise or fall due to air pressure or wind it cannot detect it
Thankyou not sure wether to go for this watch or this one Casio Men's Chronograph and Alarm Digital LCD Watch what one you think
+samuel usher I need a model number to know what watch you are talking about, but generally go for the one you find prettier
Model number F91W. But the upper one if this model with 50 meters water resistant
+samuel usher the GW7900 is a lot more watch for the money
Amazing
