I might be in the minority but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the grilles on both the new M cars. The look is super distinct and they look nothing like any other car on the road.
Hi Guys, I had a BMW 323i years ago. I went through an oil spill on a highway. The car did beautiful drifting (it was so well balanced) while other cars (including Subarus) were doing 180 and 360 spins. It was a lovely car.
I just test drove this car and loved it. I like the grill and the tech very much.

So why don't you guys contact BMW and give them some better options on how to cool down the engine, and a different method of scooping air. But considering the fact you're probably not a vehicle designer, it's probably easier to sit around and make jokes.

I reviewed it and trust me, it’s not that bad. There’s way more to this car than just the grille. I have a vid coming soon to my channel about it and the interior is amazing. Not the best design but it’s not the worst

Had they just found space at the bottom of the front bumper for the number plate and made the beaver grille slightly smaller, then this won’t even be a controversy. The car is beautiful in every other angle, certainly one of the very best rear ends on sale today.

just saw one today on my way home completely tinted out. definitely gorgeous.
This car is starting to grow on me. I like how that front stands out and the car is mad in all the right kind of ways.
I dont know why people hate the grill so much, it has basically gone through all the checks and went into production and then its on the market, there were lot of well qualified people who looked at the design, only after which it is on market for us. I really like the grill, its different, I dont find it ugly or gross as people are making it to be.
I thought seeing the grille live on the streets would be the moment I get used to it and finally accept it. Seen a couple live and still think they look gross.
In person it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... it's worse!

I have a sudden unconsolable love for the M440i the grills the design and the luxury, I started with the M2/3 Competition then to the M8 competition, now for me neither makes sense except this M440i Coupe.
Maybe we'll get lucky this decade and the kidney grills will extend upward like racing stripes.
I'm hoping by 2030 it's just the grills

It looks like a Mustang, but the Mustang actually looks better now.
Saw one on the road the other day. From behind, I can't say it's ugly. In fact, it's quite elegant and head-turning. But it's also incredibly bland and lacking in typical BMW character.
I actually kinda like it. Idk why but i like the grille a lot

You guys hit the nail on the head when you said you feel disconnected from the car. I've been driving an M440i Coupe for the last 3 weeks and it does what you want it to, you really do feel a high degree of disconnection, as if you were playing a video game.
I like it. BMW is always doing something new, and it will grow on everyone eventually, ESPECIALLY as soon as people start modifying these.
I am still waiting for this growing on part on EVERYONE.

I loved it off the start. Plus look up "720s and m4 play in the rain" or "adro g82 m4 competition blue" the adro grilles are so fire. I like the 4 series grille alot too

I just purchased one and couldn’t be happier… the grille is the main reason I bought this car the M340i looks ordinary and just like any other bmw on the road you would never know what year model it was. The new M440i is distinct and different than everything else and drives like a dream and i get so many compliments and I never even thought I would, I like it specifically because it looks more elegant and classy IMO. People hate it because it is “different” than what they are used to. That’s the main reason I love it!
The entire design department at bmw needs to be fired asap

@Sadman Islam like you said, speak for yourself. I actually think this is the best compromised of the new grill. It's not as ugly as the m3/m4 but not as pretty as the last generation. Also the new 3 series looks terrible with it's grill (unpopular opinion worse than the new 4 series)

Love it. It’s different, for sure, but I love the new grille. I do wish they would have retained more of the body lines from the previous gen. It is a little too subtle from the side profile. An aftermarket tune will transform the power and also give you the burbles back. I’d drive it!

2 series are the perfect bmw right now, they feel like modern versions of the e30 and e36. M2 comp is insanely fast and fun, and m240 is a much more accessible version of an awesome car.

The grill controversy aside which I happen to like, it is a wicked fast and fun car and you can get 26 miles per gallon combined when you’re not in sport or sport plus on all the time and like I am. Also depending on the tires and the situation I have seen 3.6 and 3.7 seconds achievable in stock form…
I've seen the big grill in person and I think it looks good!

The previous gen looks beautiful and elegant, but this one looks very aggressive and powerful. Both are cool and depend on what you're looking for. Darker colours work better on this one imo.
Right? The regular non M cars such as 3 series, x series, etc are all still normal. So the m cars being the only big the big grille ones now seperates the sporty ones from the luxury ones. And the M car looks crazy too!

Yeah, M line used to be highest, now every standard line have M package.
8 mainline BMWs (1 series, 2 series etc)

I think this car looks dope. It's aggressive-looking and it doesn't feature a bunch of street-racer kibble. I love the interior & the color of the upholstery, it matches great with the dark exterior.
Coming from a 330i, I traded it in for the 2018 440i M Sport and honestly I feel the road just fine. Exhaust also still emits the nice burbles. Definitely an engaging drive.

@@MuhammadPeay m340i feels a bit more dramatic the shifts have a nice thud to them and the exhaust to me anyways sounds better plus 4 doors for me coupes are a pain in the arse when needing to use the back seats

I know I'm late to the party but I actually like the new grills. BMW has been so bland looking that I could barely tell them apart after 2012. If I wanted to buy a new one it would look the same as a 2012 up until these. Finally, you can get one that visibly can seem different than the old ones.
Didn’t like the grilles at first but like them now though prefer the M340 because of greater rear legroom and no downside to having more legroom.
