Thank you. I was looking for a tear out video (cause I'm a Woman and wasn't trying to go from scratch 😄) because my shelves are warped. I think it's what's causing the mold down there. 🤔 I was going to take out the wood shelves and put in those steel shelves. 🤔 The wood beams still look good. Idk. What do you think? Yes, the budget isn't there, but it needs to be done. This video was great! Very detailed. Thank you so much! New sub! 🙋🏿♀️
Make the depth of the shelves as deep as you need, or have room for. In one storage room, my shelves are as deep as a copy paper box (about 15"). In another room, I just ripped a few 4x8 sheets of OSB length-wise. I have heavier item on the bottom self, so the shelf is more stable. Beef up those shelves.
Nice vid man Just a vid idea u obviously don't have to do it but u could do a sneaker/shoe display project Keep up the good vids man always love when u upload
Non pressure treated lumber directly on concrete. Other then that looks good. I did somewhat similar shelving in garage.. made sure that contact was with pt lumber cause snow melted in garage.
@@theweekendbuilder haha. For sure. I also think the 2x4s add too much bulk and probably not needed to hold a bunch of Rubbermaids. I’ll be making some in the coming weeks.
2x4s are definitely overkill for something like this. These shelves are coming up on two years old now and they are just as sturdy as when I built them
Great observation, I actually didn’t use GRK screws to build the shelves, I used construction screws. I only used GRK screws to secure my miter saw, and like you said, I didn’t pre-drill 👍
This was done in a townhome, no vapor barrier needed because the other side of the wall is heated and cooled just like mine. It’s always good to use pressure treated when in contact with cement but it’s still going to take at least a decade for that to matter and when that happens I only need to change a few boards
I wish that were the case. But this isn’t an unfinished basement, it’s a craw space and wouldn’t meet code if it were finished so it wouldn’t be counted as square footage and therefore not worth the investment. But if it could be finished, you would definitely be right!
Love how you use the trigger clamps to hold the shelves in position to screw them in. Cheers.
Nice and simple and cheap. Good work. You gotta love all the know-it-all’s that chime in 🙄
Im gonna get some of those clamps at Menards. This video was very helpful, thank you! 👍
The way you make it very easy for me to understand thanks
Glad it was helpful!
@@theweekendbuilder would you please let me know how big 2x3 I need to cut make that shelves frame looks like 20inches or 24 inches

Finally. Custom. I'm tired of all the mass produced trash in stores, and I'm tired of the rat race system that produced it.
I would love to make this. Please, will you provide exact measurements? How many 2X3's? Cuts? Thank you!

Excellent video, thank you!
Awesome vid! I need to make a video on this as well, love your editing. Great work
Nice! Well done and simple!!!! 😀
love the tools and music! :)
Thank you!

I am curious about your cut measurements.
Wanna come build one of these in my garage
What are you dimensions ? Width of the play wood , etc ?

I had to laugh when you snapped a chalk line on a pre marked line.
I wish I could have used the pre marked line but I needed a more precise line to cut on. I guess I’m not as skilled as you are
Can I buy the Plans.
hi. what is the tool you began using at 2:23? THANKS
It’s a circular saw
Easy idea, when you have all the electric tools :)))
Then use gas tools 😳🤷♂️
@@theweekendbuilder what if I only have handsaw and hammer? :D
@ steam tools ♨️💦
Get Home Despot to cut the Osb/plywood in the store. The rest can be done with hand saw
Are those 2x4’s you’re using?
They are 2x3s. Lumber prices have shot up this last year
@@theweekendbuilder haha. For sure. I also think the 2x4s add too much bulk and probably not needed to hold a bunch of Rubbermaids. I’ll be making some in the coming weeks.
I was thinking the same thing why is everybody using two by fours
2x4s are definitely overkill for something like this. These shelves are coming up on two years old now and they are just as sturdy as when I built them
How much do you think this project costs
I spent $100 but that was a few years ago. My guess would be around $150 right now
Could you please post a link to the plans for these shelves?
Unfortunately I didn’t make plans for the shelves, sorry!
Is that 1/4” or 1/2” plywood?
It’s 1/2” OSB ply
it's actually 5/8 structural OSB... the blue edges tells you
FYI, GRK screws don't need to be predrilled Lol

measurements?
whats the song called?
Hamsters on helium i would assume
i would set a counter top at 36 inch, a shelf at 24 inches and one at 66 inches with a light and outlets!
skipped all info about the framing you are building on to.
Going to fall apart eventually because you didn't put a vapor barrier (or use pressure treated wood) where the it touches the ground.

You have the wall studded out and already to be insulated and finished. Why did you skip a very important part?
I wish that were the case. But this isn’t an unfinished basement, it’s a craw space and wouldn’t meet code if it were finished so it wouldn’t be counted as square footage and therefore not worth the investment. But if it could be finished, you would definitely be right!
You forgot to insulate the frame cavities first.
Way easier ways.
Well, at least he didnt SAY anything silly, lol......
Nice Ryobi's.
LoL, just kidding
There’s a way easier way.
Overkill
Thank you!
