The more I listen to this the more I’m convinced it was the best piece ever written. I love this arrangement, so full of energy, the drumming nearer the beginning really help give a feel of chaos but the video of the conductor made the whole recording feel right in order once more. The Clarinet playing was fabulous too. The short cut of the kitten was rather funny
This song was also used in the movie called: "Tucker: The Man and His Dreams". Its a movie about the legendary Tucker cars that revolutionized the cars we have today.
Had the false memory that the movie was about ford. But yeah always remember him quoting the title when he was excited. I had to give my cat asthma medication so I looked up the song on UA-cam to play it while I held the cat and my wife administered the inhaler.
I was watching MATCH GAME and the Super Match was TIGER (Blank) and Brett said TIGER RAG. I had no idea what that was but I laughed so hard when Gene started singing "hold that tiger, hold that tiger, hold that tiger" and was thrusting himself forward....so that is what brought me here...to look up the song.
Somewhere there's an account of a man who passed his induction physical after Pearl Harbor, but because of his particular kind of trade, he was classified as one necessary to national defense. When his company went into full production--he never said that I could find, what the company made--the machinery ran 24-hours a day unless it was down for repairs or maintenance. The machine produced the rhythm of Hold That Tiger. He said he listened to Hold That Tiger for all of World War II.
