Helps me - one thing to note, my fingers are short and fat - I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to play a 6-string - finally moved to a tenor guitar 4-strings, finally started learning music instead of spending hours just trying to reach unattainable chords - wish I had gotten that advice way earlier. But this video certainly applies - thank you
You didn't mention what you do to raise your leg. I just cross my leg and that raises the guitar. But back in the day when I played classical guitar, I used a special guitar leg stand. Do you use one?
You mentioned it sliding off your leg, which is for sure a common issue! I found that always using a strap, even while seated, helped me combat that when used in conjunction with your other tips. Caveat: I'm primarily a bass player and tend to have it at/just above my natural waist while standing, so seated the strap isn't really loose. I imagine if you're a player who has their instrument slung low when you stand that my suggestion may not make much difference for you.
I loved your class today. And your guitar too 😍😍. The truth is that very little is said about the positions of the left hand on the neck and also about the guitar when picking it up. I have ever tried to play like James Hetfield does and I find it very difficult....😂😂🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻. although each person adopts what is most comfortable for them to play. Great class 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊
Thank you it’s always the little things that make the biggest difference. 😊
Great video Steve! I admire your patience in your lessons. You are very sincere in your teaching. I appreciate that.

Absolutely. Using a strap while you're seated helps. Thanks for commenting!
That is a very nice looking guitar, I want one.
I've recently started standing up like half the time(s) I practice. I think it's a good idea to get used to it.
