When I started into this video / creator adventure, I couldn't understand why anyone needed an external monitor, the camera already comes with a screen on the back.... so much to learn 🦗. Thanks for the videos Alli!
You’re welcome! I was the same when I first started, but after a few shoots and seeing all of the shots I had out of focus, or the wrong exposure, it has been such a great investment!
Agree! Nothing worse than finding out your video is out of focus or have any kind of issues. We have to check everything after a day of shooting, but it would be awesome to have one of these. I (Maria) would need a super strong monitor because I drop things all the time. Haha Great share guys!
Always used the lil LCD screen but totally with you on the fact that it's so easy to have your footage overexposed. Had that problem many times 😅 would love to use a monitor too but our travel weight capacity is about full
Good review Alli. I am looking for a monitor too and feelworld’s monitor looks good for beginners and affordable. Will probably buy one fron them soon. Probably a 5inch for me.😊
This is nice monitor! Few questions how well does it handle in cold weather? Also is there anyway to connect the monitor to a mobile phone? Great price point!!
We filmed the b-roll in around -5 C weather and it held up fine, so I'd say it's good there. For connecting to a mobile device, I don't think that's possible without another piece that would accept the signal and convert it to HDMI.
Hi, I’m having trouble getting my monitor to turn on after hooking it up to my camera. Is there anything special you have to do to power this monitor up. I was just expecting it to turn on once I plugged in hdmi to usb 3.0
Yes! I had the same issue, there’s a setting in the camera to get it to turn on. Can’t remember exactly what it was, but I think it was changing the output to 1080i. (Some monitors can’t accept 1080p). Let me know if that does it!
This monitor was literally designed to be used outdoors. I can assure you it’s far better than a camera lcd or other monitors with lower nits. It was significantly better than my $1600 SmallHD monitor outside in daylight, so I highly doubt your camera monitor was better.

Ya, for traveling, it's tough to bring all the extra pieces of gear that can help, no doubt!
The fact the monitor can be turned up 5x brighter then the conventional one is insane

had this monitor , only good indoors or dull days , in the sun my camera monitor is way better

This monitor doesn't support luts. It's a fairly low end priced monitor with some* higher end features.
