    Hi Friends,
I haven't vlogged for a while and here's a video of a day in the life of a screenwriter. In the video, I shared a bit of my writing process, as well as how and why I break down and analyze characters. I also shared the Flora app that I'm using to stay productive. I hope the video is fun and helpful.

The summary of your writing process, the vomit, then Truby, then they speak for themselves -- all of that was so helpful. You definitely motivated me to take Truby off the shelf and use it for that character analysis/connectivity stage. Such great content. I also think I will try those apps. If you treasure it, measure it, right? Finally, may I suggest that coffee is not an excuse! It is fuel. Delicious fuel. LOL! This vlog was extra helpful to me because it shows how you are applying ideas you've read or thought of to your life and to your work. We read in our books about tracking things, and 10,000 hours and boom-- Today there are two apps that help us actually move toward those numbers. And taking Truby and putting him to use with your drafts and in your dedicated notebook. Just great stuff. Thanks, Nani!

Thank you so much! Michael. I’m so happy that you thought the video was helpful. I love to share these things that makes me feel excited. Haha! Coffee is the delicious fuel for sure. I feel I’m lack of inspiration without it. 🤣

I don’t know if I’ve ever asked you this before but I’m curious: what brought you to screenwriting specifically, and would you consider exploring other forms of storytelling? I’ve always written fiction (novels and short stories mostly) but I’m currently having a sort of writer’s block and feeling like I want to explore new forms of storytelling that are more ‘visual’ like drawing, painting, world building that doesn’t necessarily require a story (my main focus is fantasy)

That’s such a good question! I always love writing and storytelling since I was a kid. I too always write fictions, novels and poetry. I came to screenwriting because that’s the path to being a film director. And my love for writing made me genuinely enjoyed becoming a screenwriter. Also, because how visual screenwriting is, it helps me improve my other writings as well. I think the same to what you said drawing and painting will definitely help with the writers block. They are all storytelling, so they might inspired one and other. That’s a really good idea you have. Creativity needs practice and it doesn’t care what form we use.
