    How are you so productive iam just wasting time and learning nothing but doom scrolling

    • @NaniLiYang
      @NaniLiYang 3 дні тому

      Oh! Trust me, I scroll A LOT too. Part of the reason I haven’t been posting, is that I was so overwhelmed and tired, and scrolling became my default mode. I wasted hours and hours, sometimes entire weekend. Especially on the days when I don’t have to chase last minute deadlines. I think this is a common struggle, you are not alone. My vlog is just one of the day of a few months after all. When I decided to vlog, I tend to be more productive because vlogging is keeping me accountable. For the past 2 weeks I have been putting my phone in a different room when I work, and leave my phone out of my bedroom, I’m still tempting sometimes but it worked. At least for now. Best wishes to you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE❤️

    Hello again, Nani! 🙂 So happy for you! Isn't it amazing to do something you love full time, even if it's a bit stressful and exhausting? 😊 Here's a bit about me: I'm working on a fantasy series that I hope will be made into movies someday. It's a story I'm very passionate about, and that I hope will raise philosophical questions about life and touch people emotionally. After several years, I hope I'm soon nearing the end for vol. 1 of the series. Right now, I'm doing something very nerdy: planning the weapons, magic and fighting style for each character, so that I can write battle scenes with greater confidence! 😁 I'm a actually in a fortunate situation myself, since I am able to work full time with this story. I ended up on "disability support" a few years ago, due to my mental health record and not getting emplyment after trying for years. Now in my 30s. That said, even with full time on this project, it's been such a challenge to get to where I am now. I'd say this project has been equally challenging as it was to write a master's thesis in my 20s! 😜 Not only has planning and writing certain scenes been challenging, but I'm also going to have to learn how to draw and make music so I can turn this story into a visual novel. While I'd really love to have movies produced, I've also developed some doubts about whether modern day Hollywood will care about the kind of story I'm writing, and do justice to the characters and philosophical themes of the story... 😕 I've barely started making music for the visual novel, which is fun, and have also started planning how to draw certain scenes I've written. I really have to take on the role of a director in planning drawings! 😮 As you know as a screenwriter, screenplays are very lean, so there's a lot of blank that has to be filled in when making a visual product from a script. Plus, when making a visual novel, I don't have the aid of a set designer 😅 I hope you'll be successful as a full-time director, and will have a lot of fun in the process. Best of luck! 😊

Cozy jazz, soft spoken voice, comfortable settings, feels like a professors office listening to the professor give a consultation while having a conversation all while being captured in an art house indie film. @NaniLiYang Please, no thanks needed. I know talent when I see it and you've always been the real deal. Watching your vlogs makes me feel like this: I used to hang out at this indie art film theater in Denver, CO all the time before going to grad school. It was a real artist escape. For years I go sit and watch the most interesting films, with global scale issues and personal depth in everyone. I was always in wonder, playfully playing along with the movie and taking what I had watched back with me into the world to explore ideas 💡 concepts, travel and cinema with my group of friends. We would discuss what films we saw, current affairs and the intricate details of our ever busy lives and all this before the smart phones we have become so accustomed to today, so the heart felt information gathering and spreading was really something special when compared to those whose focus in life was purely economic, purely getting ahead in the rat race. Those rat racers missed the big picture and by missing the big picture, they missed the small details of life too; those details that where far more important then stocks and bonds, wars and elections, they missed the point of life the matters of soulful reflection, depth of feeling, connecting and understanding with the profound and surreal all around us. I don't know if those moments can ever really be relieved or truly captured with any justice, but you always reminded me of watching a movie, in an Art House theater in Denver, CO. Fresh organic popcorn, a hippie organic soda and some fair-trade chocolates. Sit in and enjoy the Art, listen to what's being said, read into the depth and knowing of the film maker. Then go ponder how the film made me feel in a huge private bookstore downtown, walking between the racks with a fresh latte in hand, scrolling the shelves for subjects and ideas of what I just introduced to on screen. The feeling of warmth. Pure intellectual surroundings. Feeling of both zen and wonder in the magic of exploration of cinema, literature and life. Delicate and full of vitality. Flower. 🌼 Blossom. 🌸 Nani.

    Thank you for your review. So many other reviewers praised the device for helping them to write an exponentially higher number of words per day, unleash their creative flow, etc, but your comments seem more genuine and introspective. You are not hypocritical at all, because you are helping us to see how we might feel AFTER the feverish impulse to buy something (because of it’s beautiful design and the marketing that leads us to believe that the next the purchase might help us become the dream we have for ourselves) has passed. I am in the middle of this “fever” right now. I believe I need to buy this and would love using it and seeing it on my desk. I want it so much, but before I knew about its existence, I was fine without it. Yet lately, somehow I feel that my happiness will be incomplete if I do not buy it. I have a lot of thinking to do, as I also believe my happiness would improve by continuing to simplify my life and learning to be grateful for what I already have. Either decision will bring happiness, whether temporary or lasting, and both will bring wisdom, whether from foresight of hindsight. I will take to reflect on this.

      @@evilphuk I did end up getting it after receivi;g snd ad about a “temporary discount of $50 off”. That was the “hook” that led me to purchase. I am embarressed about that. It is a good product and works as advertised. I really like that it can be used anywhere and no internet connection needed for typing. Alas, as so often happens, the excitement didn’t last. It will have a practical purpose in my life, but I wish I would have waited even longer to weigh the pros and cons of spending and owning more than I need or can easily afford wiithin a simple life. There will be some who will find that this device meets their needs perfectly, and will be thrilled with it. I appreciate having this, but also regret for the lack of stronger willpower to at least take much more time to consider whether the purchase would make enough of a difference in my life, or be just be another lesson about spending vs frugality. I wish happiness and lasting enjoyment for all who purchase it. I also wish for patience and reflection for all who want a simple life or are on a smaller budget like I am.

      I think another important thing is to learn to manage your anergy, use the best time of the day to write, or read books about screenwriting, or use these book as a guide to breakdown movies. These activity can really help you get into the momentum. Just start only 15 minutes a day, until you get comfortable, then, add time to it. You got this!
