- Andy Timmons at the Thoroughbred Music Guitar Expo in Clearwater, Fl. 1993 (?). A very soulful performance from Andy's four song demonstration. I hit the special effects button on the camcorder a couple of time during the recording. I didn't like the effect and quickly disabled it. Otherwise a pretty good capture. Purchase Andy's "ear X-tacy" CD to own the studio version of this song.
He is the Gilmour of shredders, never a bad note

I just listened to the studio version. The difference in sound quality may be significant, but this performance holds so much more musical value it is unreal.

Marty Friedman uses pentatonic scales more than Andy Timmons, trust me.

Most guitarist uses pentatonic scales but sounded more creative and unique.... When you hear andy timmons play you wouldnt know its him till you saw him... But gilbert, friedman etc all have thieir trademark phrasing when you hear you know its him same like vai.....typical pentatonics two note per strings are very common and sounded boring..... gilbert plays pentatonics too but like 3 notes perstring on most of his string skipping thingis
Man, I could recognize Andy Timmons even if he was farting into the bridge pickup. His sound is so much more beautiful than Gilbert's that I can only imagine how different our tastes in music must be :)

ok...andy timmon is good but not godlike kind of guitarist.....cause most ppl here overrate him too much....i dont find him unique in terms of the way he play....for eg,marty friedman when he play,you know its him...his style is unique and not typical guitarist playing around pentatonic common way of phrasing

its ok for me..there is always someone better than me him and anyone...you can stfu too...andy timmons shred on chord progression just typical...its not jazz not rock either and its just solo with the progression...learn solo over chords from friedman,govan and other players with structure and concept....
