some friends and I backpacked to those very springs back in the mid 90s in mid-June. the almost 10 mile hike wasn't bad except the last couple of miles that we were forced to use the snowshoes that we had thankfully brought just in case. after crossing the creek three times and the last crossing was wading across in very cold water because the logs that were the bridge had fallen from the other side of the bank. Once we got to the springs, there were a few other people there and apparently the hot springs were, at that time, considered 'clothing optional'...so we did what the 'natives' did and enjoyed the hot springs au naturale. I noticed your video was strictly swimsuit friendly. the scenery at the springs with the surrounding mountains was incredible and I'll always remember that trip due to it being the first and only time that I've ever watched a porcupine in the wild fairly close. incredible trip and I'm glad back then that we didn't have to get stressed with the whole reservation permit system.
It's absolutely the stuff that doesn't go right that makes trips like this memorable. I feel like there is so much more to that story but thanks for the highlights!
