Sweetwater is proud to welcome Boom Bass Cabinets! As a bass player himself, Boom Bass Cabinets founder Drue Williams intimately understands the struggles of bass players who want to produce a big sound onstage without having to haul around a back-breaking rig. Drue parlayed his experience in carpentry to solve this problem. This resulted in the creation of a lightweight line of bass cabinets with innovative design features, including tilt-back front baffles, which direct the sound up instead of at your legs, and down-firing woofers that are installed inside of the cabinet and out of sight. We are so excited to welcome Boom Bass Cabinets, with their clever designs and bold looks, to the Sweetwater family! Give them a shoutout in the comments!
What an incredible dude! Plays a mean bass, makes some of the best looking and sounding bass cabs ever and then on top of that names the cabs "BBC" what a guy 😂
BBC...lol
Facts I peeped that when they showed the back 💀💀💀
Dude that luggage handle on the cab has got to be one of the simplest and ingenious things I’ve seen yet. God, what a blessing.
Ampeg was doing that back with the Portobass series (not to be confused with the modern Portaflex) in the early 2000's, but small and light amps/cabs hadn't caught on yet.
PJB has them to
That guy is a outstanding bass player wow
Wow is right...
@@smoothoscillator1 That piece of music right before the video ended that was the best that was the most cheerful piece of music I loved it
Seems like a great guy, I wish him all the success. It would be cool to see this guy go on and develop a name that everyone knows like Friedman or Wampler or something.
What a humble and passionate man. Home improvement wood worker by trade? And a killer bass player? And manages to start his own enterprise? I wish I had that drive at my young age. I'll have to buy one of his cabs not only to support him, but also because they are such a great concept!
Designed by a musician, built by a craftsman... who happen to be the same person! What a cool design idea. I'd be interested in hearing one of these live.
If I was a bass player I would be all over one of these cabinets. Dude put a lot of thought into these cabinets. They sound and look great not to mention easy on the spine..
Good move Sweetwater. Boom!
💥
I absolutely love everything about this company. Craftsman by day, bassist by night, puts his two passions together to address all his needs, develops unique features, and a cool as name. What's there not to love? So happy Sweetwater jumped on this.
FINALLY someone who really gets the low end for bass cabs
This is awesome of you guys to let Boom Bass Cabinets join the family Sweetwater!! I really want one now! And awesome demo Drue! What a wealth of knowledge 😎
"BBC" logo... haha. That was clever.
Awesome to see someone with an unique idea make it and a company like Sweetwater carry their brand. Great job to BBC and Sweetwater!
God bless this man..
I've seen his stuff on Johnny Lee Long's channel. These are the sweetest cabinets I've ever seen/heard... He saw a solution to a problem and did it. Awesome job!
That’s where I seen him first also! Johnny is the man!!!
Wow, great sound and fantastic playing. Drue your knowledge and enthusiasm show in responses and playing. Sounds like you have creating a truly amazing product. Thank you Sweetwater for carrying them.
Thanks Drue for designing these cabs, can hardly wait to hear my 1212. Awesome job on this presentation!
Now... THIS is the kind of company I would be happy to support!
The guy built his own company, from the ground- up, by using basic, familiar concepts and combined them with convenient adaptations and intelligently-innovative ideas to create an obvious winner of a product line.
I do hope he finds continued success and growth for himself and his company!
Finally a slanted speaker!!!! In the cabinet,I was asking manufacturers to do this during the Eden and SWR days.
Really, really excellent ! The inmovation is just incredible. Thank you ! 🤘🤘
This is our American, home of innovation! great job, proud of you sir! ( the bass speaker facing to the ground to give a surround sound is an amazing idea ! )
You have a couple extra words in there...
Wow Amazing! He thought of everything!
Yeah, even a tweeter instead of a horn!
This is amazing! Congratulations Mr. Drue!!! I’m loving my BBC 12/15 Custom Military Cab!
Happy to see so much innovation going on in the guitar world right now, some of these are gonna be flying off the shelves :D
These are really cool cabs! Awesome innovation!
I really enjoyed this interview. Mike is a great speaker and it’s great to see this gentleman using his trade to also improve on something he loves.
Dru is a fantastic bassist and I've heard nothing but great things about these cabs!
Glad to see some great stuff coming out of Indy. Keep it up!
This is the most ingenious piece of equipment I've ever seen.
Drue ... am really really impressed !!! Love your attitude and your playing and the cabs. BBC !
🤯 This sh#! is brilliant. Can't wait to hear some clips of the different cabs. Dude knows what he's talking.....great to see some actual innovation!
Awesome stuff Drue. Wishing you much success.
Excellent idea. I’m passing this on.
Nice playing. boom bass cabinets sound awesome.thx Dre 👍🏿
Man I love how this guy really thought outside the box and thought out how to address a lot of age old issues. I'm gonna check this out versus the kickback Hartke! This guy deserves the business.
Wow he's really done it 😁😁😁🤩🤩🤩🤩💯 what a incredible bass cabinet!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩💯!! Even more so what about his bass guitar playing!!!!!!! Wow we're did he learn how to play like that 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩it mind blowing 🤯and so are his bass cabinets for sure!!! Thank you so much 💙
Sharp looking cabs! Sounds like he reasoned out the design totally from a players viewpoint. Love to see his take on a SVT 810 model design too. Musician designed....smart dude!! Again, looks great!!
I want one of these cabinets! Great guy, fantastic Bass player!!
Sounds so crisp. Listened with headphones
He jams! Great looking cabs too
Its like this cab was designed with me in mind.
Turning 50 and I want something easy to pack out but still be able to hear myself.
There goes my income tax return haha.
Who could not love bass 😍😍😍
or BBC
He was a great man for hooking Johnny Lee long up first seen them on his channel, ill be definitely getting the2x10x15
This man sounds like a true innovator.
Without even trying one of these yet I love them built by a hard working tradesman who is a solid bass player he knows a good sound and with all that you can trust these are what he says they are nice video and teamwork with Sweetwater is a plus they are great
Thank you for sharing.
Bass gear designed and built by a bass player, way over due...great job sir!
They sound like they have a busted speaker.
I have been using a bottom firing cab for yrs! got it from schroeder. I am interested in trying one of these.
Seems smooth now I got to check the weather report
When I can afford to finally buy an amp I'm going to get a Boom Bass Cabinet. This video sealed the deal.
What a great interview. Drue is such an interesting guy.
Looks like really great cabinets and quiet affordable too.
Very interesting cocept and designs.
I will definitely give him a try
I'm not even a bass player. Maybe it's time I become one.
Wow. These are really nice. Any chance of seeing them in the UK?
Awesome!!!
You are right about wanting smalll and big sound. i stopped using keyboard amps because of this. Only use pa speakers.
I wish I could have been there when that alien descended from the sky and handed him that bass.
awesome bass awesome product
Brilliant sir
Keep up the good work my dude✊🏾💯

KILLER!!!
Wow!
Seems like they're already gone from the website, and by the looks of the BBC website, things aren't going well with keeping up with production. Shame. I was really looking forward to adding one of these. I think the alternative is MarkBass for weight and power. Sweetwater, fill the gap, get in some MarkBass!
That's a shame, they have a great rep in the bass community
Ok so since these are sealed cabinets, are the down firing drivers actually a passive radiator? It would make sense to put a larger passive radiator down firing to increase the bass frequencies of the smaller front driver? I know he said it was a regular driver, but just wondering about this? Great product btw! I was looking at these on your website the other day!
Hello, John! Those down firing drivers are actually receiving power/sound. These amps put out a ton of volume and low end for their size. I'm considering getting one myself! Thanks for the interest!

I hope they make a bass combo amp.
Killer!
Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of a luggage handle till now?! 😂😭🥲
I wish manufacturers would make more analog solid-state amplifiers and use more 15" & "18" speakers. In my collection, I have three 15's, one 18, and four 10's. I hate modern class D amps and using only 10's and 12's.
I use one of those class D Mesa heads with an Aguilar SL115 and it is the closest tone I've got to one of those old school high power class AB solid state amplifiers through a 15. The key is making sure the cab and speaker were designed with no tweeter or crossover circuitry.
@@tylerwmbass
That's nice. I have two vintage Peavey bass amps. The pure analog circuitry must be felt to understand it entirely. The larger power amp, transformer, capacitors, and other components throw sound out through the speaker. I have used class D amps and to my ears, the preamp and power amp accentuate higher frequencies.
For my style of using only passive basses with flat wounds and high action, class D amplifiers compress and tighten the sound. It's the nature of the circuitry.
My point is: the industry should bring back analog solid-state amplifiers as an alternative to the Class D standard.
Technology has advanced and today's 12's have better performance than yesteryear's 15's.
@@richsnyder
The same can be said for the larger sizes. My 15's and 18 are equally as modern as my 10's.
The best tone I’ve ever had was from 70s Acoustic Control stacks. Built like a tank and will last forever too
I got one and I am getting another.
Sealed Cabs! Wooo!!!
Hell yeah, I thought I was watching an episode of Seinfeld at the beginning! I like it!
Here is a sales engineer question for you. I am all about double-duty. I currently play bass AND guitar through the same rig, which is an "amp in a box" type preamp pedal running into a Seymour Duncan Powerstage 170, which then goes into a Gallien-Krueger 1x15 cab. Also, I don't play slap. I play bass with a pick, like the guitarist that I am. I often play the bass with distortion, or a shimmer reverb paired with an octave. And when I play guitar, it is full-on distortion in Drop A tuning. Yes. I am a full-on metal guy. At the same time, I am all about compact rigs, which can fit in the back seat of my car. I love being able to travel with as little as possible. So, with all that in mind, which one of these would be best for my purposes?
Hello! These cabs are really full range, so they would work well. If you're concerned with having a lot of low end, I'd get one of the cabs with a 15 in the bottom. If you're worried about that not sounding mid-rangey enough for the guitar tones, then I'd go with the 2x12.

Do they come in small bedroom size combos?
Hello! They are not currently making any combo amps.
Thanks for the interest!

BBC cabs yes pls
I would love to have the 210 / 15... out of my price range tho.
It would be interesting to pair this cab with a Markbass amp head or Wayne Jones amp.
dig it...
Thanks for sharing. Would do well with a Darkglass amp head?
Absolutely. Anything that can push a 4 ohm cab (which is pretty much every modern bass amp... but check just to be 100% certain) with 300+ watts should get you moving. 500+ watts will get LOUD. It looks like the 750 watt Aguilar amp in this video is turned up to about 1.5 or so.
Thank you 🙏
Hello, Tex! Yeah, these cabs would sound great with a Darkglass head. They can handle a fair amount of wattage and pump out a lot of sound. That would be a great lightweight rig.
Thanks for the interest!

what name is that ?
These or Phil Jones bass cabinets??
Shut up and take my money.
What an awesome guy.
Sound good & look good cabs, but a bit high priced though.
I’m building 2x10 bass cabinet now….
✔️
👍
Would the price be cheaper if the RMS watts were advertised instead of the peak watts? 🤔 $650 for 300 watts is hardly a price point for working musicians.
It would be great if the tolex didn't peel off all the time.
Someone told me he also knows Bill Troane.
Once begotten to the fifth leadge of the hairen tethers commute but also known to be a Trent. You know what they say about trents.
Go sweetwater
where's the rest of the wood on his bass ? like he crack the wood and bass code
I Don't think they make them anymore
im the crazy that will only buy audio equipment if its RED...lol
I love how mature we are all being in the comment section 😏
Interesting but like other supposed tilt-back baffle designs useless on a club stage. May be good on a large stage if you want to be 20 feet away from your amp. I never had issues with low end from my 4 X 10 cabs. When I used two I had them on my preamp/ amp rack (about 14" off the ground) and it sounded awesome (so I was told many times by other musicians) to me. And one on a stand or my rack rocked just fine in small situations. Also never liked the sound of SVTs.
As a dude, I appreciate the hilarious BBC name and energy. But as a white dude, I don't think I could pull off playing a show with a giant BBC logo.....
BBC 😂🤣
they talk
He is talking about sealed cabinets, while I look at the huge ports at the front & the side. Lol
Those openings on the front of the larger cabinets are not ports. The speakers are all placed in sealed cabinets. The openings are for the bottom loaded speakers facing downward to push out sound to the front and sides of the cabinet. The 15", 12" and 10" speakers have no ports. You have to see the cabinets (and hear them) in person. I have the small Tank 1x12 with tweeter and use it for upright and small electric gigs. It's incredibly light (25-28 lbs.) and can take a lot of power. I ordered this cabinet about 2 years ago without hearing it first and was not disappointed with my purchase.
I went to watch Seinfeld right after this video 🤔
