    UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

    Man, oh, man, excellent video. I picked up mine today from Lowe's for $399.99 (less my 10 % military discount). Yesterday, I had bought the 2300 psi GW pressure washer, but it would not run with my water faucet turned full on. If I turned the water on about 1/2 way it would run. I called Greeworks and after waiting on hold about 2 hours a very nice lady connected to me. She said it was supposed to run at "full faucet". I was concerned that the 2300 psi one was maybe going to give me trouble - I returned it. The 2300-psi one was the last one they had, so I bought this 3000-psi one. I'll put it together tomorrow.

    I've read the more GPM you have the faster, the better it cleans. If that is true this GW would be a better unit, The Greenworks Pro 2700 PSI pressure washer is powerful and reliable, delivering 2.3 Max GPM

      I still have it and it's still working just as good! I don't use it a ton, probably about 4 times per summer. It's done longer projects though like the siding all around my mom's mobile home plus several cement patio cleanings and some car washes. It's also been in the garage the entire time which can vary from -30 to 110 depending on the season lol.

    Dumping my Gas 3100 Ryobi,I loved it for the three times I could start it and use it ! Season 1.
    Season 2, even though run dry and an additive in the gas, I could not start it,
    I had it repaired and rebuilt at 1/3 of its cost new, ran it on pure gas vs 10% methanol but ,,
    Every spring clean was a real family event in a negative sense.When and if it restarted it took us 30 minutes, even then the Honda engine hunting,
    NOW looking for an electric and going with the great review from A on Greenworks 2700 , then spotted yours more recent. Thanks for updating !
    Great review, learned from other reviews. Some Questions to you as a user.
    1) Were the handle 'nuts' still plastic thread or metal insert?
    2) Hose seemed to have steel or aluminum fittings on to brass ? Dielectric problem later on as they interchange electrons with water and bind up?
    3) A swivel on the power cord would be good, can you turn it 90Degrees and pull the whole power chord off ?
    4) Install quick connects , what diameter ? Did you do this upgrade on your hoses, both makes seem good. Did you mention electric length and hose length use standard ?
    5) It has a pressure gauge, did you add that >? (probably obviously you did)
    6) Flow test advice, Bucket test advice, do as Aaron, Indeed you probably figured it out, from a cold start it takes time to build pressure for a smaller orifice !
    Start the pump and then start the stopwatch at 10 seconds once the flow has built up and the pressure gauge stabilized.
    Count down 10,9,8 etc to 3,2,1 change from one open bucket to the measure bucket with no small fancy hole in the middle. Point the hose at the side and it will flow into the swirl in the measure bucket and not splash back. (I did this in the 90s on liquid additive pumps in the Oilfield, we had two be very accurate).
    7) Interested to hear if the 'chrome' gun extensions rusted ? I had Ryobi and Orange Box extensions and they rusted like heck in Texas (high humidity garages) .
    8) GREAT measurement on the 20 Amp vs 15 Amp and I have to review my outside outlets , well done !!
    Bottom line, a great review ! I am angled towards Greenworks electric pressure washers. To get my driveway and walkways clean is $400 from a handyman or Pressure washer company for one time. With this I can do all, in fact she can do all also a well as my kids!
    The physics to note, that I am not really able to calculate is that if you are going longer, from an outlet to say the front of your yard/driveway, you need either a long extension chord from your 20Amp external outlet or the same length of a water hose extension. Either way you will get a loss. My idea is that I buy a high (thick) extension chord and use a 25-50 ft hose. I think you will gain more on investing in a high flow electric extension chord to power it (less resistance) , to the unit. The pressure loss between 25 ft and 50 ft may be greater.
    Just my opinion as an old Engineer, but there are electrical and fluid dynamic people out there who may agree or disagree
    Thanks buddy ! Great review!

      Thank you! This is an impressively long comment, so I'll do my best do address everything. I too, have been let down too many times by certain gas applications. Have a 1998 Yard Machine lawn mower that's never had the carb cleaned, yet somehow runs. Yet I bought a Remington gas powered weed whip last year and it worked great. This year, barely runs and bogs out when trying to rev it up. Going with a Milwaukee since I have Milwaukee batteries. Then probably the Milwaukee leaf blower too, once my Husqvarna craps out.
      1.) I initially thought that the handle nuts on the GWP3000 were plastic because of Aaron's video, but upon closer inspection, mine are actually black painted metal inserts within the plastic knobs, but they did look plastic at first glance. I've had them on and off several times so far with no issues.
      2.) There could be possible issues down the road with the mixture of metal fittings, but I THINK the steel is stainless, so I'm thinking the brass would just corrode if anything and need to be replaced. But other that possible hard water, the fittings aren't exposed to many other elements, and they're typically disconnected anyways when not in use.
      3.) I'll need a little more clarification on this one. I'm not sure what you mean when you're talking about rotating the power cord and removing it. I'd have to check it out, but I'm fairly sure it's hardwired to the machine.
      4.) I believe the quick connects were 3/8" ID, and the only quick connects used in this video were from the pressure hose to the gun and pressure hose to the machine. Machine was tested with standard 35' power cord and standard 25' Uberflex 1/4" ID hose.
      5.) Yes, I added the quick connect pressure gauge. Got it for about $20 on Amazon. I actually have an accessory test video that will be coming out this coming Wednesday showing how this pressure washer works with an 11" surface cleaner and a foam cannon. I'll also show the quick connects and another handle.
      6.) For the most part, the flow test seemed to be constant pressures once all the air was purged from the lines and the pump, but good to know for the future.
      7.) No rust yet on the metal wand extensions, and we do get pretty humid here as well.
      8.) Thanks!
      As far as an extension cord or extended pressure hose, they don't want you to use an extension cord with them since the breaker is at the end of the factory cord, but if you get a thicker cord with proper gauge wiring like you mentioned, you should be fine. I really don't think you'll be losing much, if any amperage with an extension cord though. You could always test this once you get your setup with a pressure gauge, once with extension cord, then again without. The PSI also didn't seem to change when I went to the 50' Uberflex vs the factory 25' hose. I recorded 2000 PSI with the 40 degree nozzle with both hoses. Hope this helps you out!

    How is yours doing, still working good?
    I just ordered this yesterday, $349 from greenworks I had the greenworks pro 2700 but it was disappointing, of course I was used to my Simpson 3600 psi. The 2700 was ok for washing my truck but not so good for my vinyl siding on my home. So I thought I'd give the 3000 a try I heard it performed better, I just want a descent electric washer mostly for car wash and twice a year on the house.

      Mine hasn’t had any issues yet! I’ve used it probably 10 times, and 1 of those times was to pressure wash the siding on my mom’s trailer. I think I ended up using the turbo nozzle from a few feet away because it seemed to work the best. Not sure how much better it actually performs over the 2700. This is about as powerful as you’re going to get out of a residential electric unit. Anything over 3000 psi and you’d need gas or commercial electric, even if the manufacturer claims over 3000 psi.

    QUESTIONS:
    1) what is its predicted reliability? ( my karcher k5 premium died after 40 uses 🤬 )
    2) what are the pros&cons of the pressure washer motor continually operating when no demand ?
    3) are the accessories generic or proprietary?

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 роки тому

      I can’t speak on reliability yet as I just got this unit last summer and I e only used it a few times, so only time will tell on that. I’m hoping if there’s any issues, they will honor the warranty and fix the issue. The pros of the unit running constantly are that you have instant pressure without any lag when you pull the trigger, but they recommend powering the unit off of its going to be just idling for 5 minutes or more at a time. The accessories seem to be pretty generic. 14mm ID on the pressure hose with 22mm OD on the threads. All the accessories I’ve tried so far all worked without issue.

I noticed a defect in the handle - it was drilled wrong and won't slide all the way in the lower handle causing it to be unstable. I called Greenworks and they don't have parts for that model since it is new so I need to place it all back in the box to be picked up by Fed Ex. They are shipping a new unit. Hopefully, that one is okay. Great service but the assembly line flaw spooked me a bit.

      I hear you on the QC issue. I ordered the 2700 and it was leaking oil from the pump. Contacted Greenworks and they replaced it, promptly. Weird thing is it has the hose connections of the 3000 but it's on a 2700 chassis. I told the gal I'd pay for an upgrade but she said they couldn't do that. Maybe they did, I dunno but the sticker on the back of the unit says 2700. They had me dispose of the defective unit but I salvaged what I could before throwing it away. I'll test with a gauge when spring rolls around.

    • @anthonycotugno7369

      @@APrawks For me the drama with Greenworks has continued to a level that is almost comical. The first or original GPW3000 was picked up by FedEx. Received a replacement and I noticed there was an abundance of scratches on that unit. I called customer service and had to explain the entire situation to that person because he had no history of events leading to the replacements. Once all that time was wasted doing that, the rep told me that he will replace that second unit because he suspected it was a previous return from another customer. So, once again, I box up and it is picked up my FedEx. Then the third unit arrives, I open the box and it was immediately clear that the unit was definitely a return from another customer. Everything was not wrapped and it was clear the way it was packed that it was not "new" from the factory. Here is where it gets comical. Just out of curiosity, I took a photo of the serial number on that third unit, checked my past records and sure enough it was the same original unit I returned. So I was the previous customer that returned that unit and they circled it right back to me. LOL. I called customer service, once again had to tell the entire story because they were clueless of the history. Mind you, there were emails and also warranty registrations with my contact info. Now they have a fourth unit on it's way that I will refuse shipment on if I can catch FedEx during delivery. They don't ring the bell and just drop the box on my front porch.
      I found that Generac makes a very similar electric pressure washer for a bit less and will be ordering that.
      My opinion is that Greenworks does make good products but something is amiss with their manufacturing or design where a very few have issues. More importantly, those who are unlucky enough to receive a Greenworks product with issues will drive themselves to drink when dealing with their customer service.

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  6 місяців тому

      Depends how heavy you’re going to work it. Most “commercial” pressure washers are higher powered and draw more amperage. I don’t think any pressure washer is really going to have any power left at 50 feet if I’m being honest. It depends what your goal is and how stubborn the cleaned surface is. This one has to be within about a foot or 2 for effective pressure. It will shoot water probably 20+ feet but there’s no pressure that far out as they aren’t designed like that. Many vacuum cleaners have similar cord storage where a single arm rotates to allow the cord to slip off as one "unit".

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 роки тому

      You can see at 19:51 the machine itself produces 3000 psi, but the actual working pressure depends on the nozzle and orifice size. 2200 psi was about the highest I was with the 15° nozzle I believe. The turbo nozzle is only like 800-1200 psi but it still works great for cleaning because of how small the stream is. Even though it’s low psi, it has a ton of pressure.

  • @BigBear--
    @BigBear-- 2 роки тому +1

    Just an FYI, the spike pressure when you're not pulling the trigger, typically should be a couple hundred Psi above the rated working pressure. The working pressure should be within a hundred or two of the rated Psi. What that means in practice with a machine rated at 3000 psi, is you should see between 3200-3400 spike pressure, and around 2700-3000 working pressure. Elevation, fab tolerances, and guage accuracy tolerance, all would play in seeing slightly different numbers. But they shouldn't be 800-1000psi off the mark with...
    I would contact Greenworks and see if they could run you through a tech support checklist, and if nothing fixes the pressure issue, send you a new unit. The only other thing is they may have included the wrong size orifice tips, if nothing is technically wrong with the machine. The fact that Josh got 2700 working psi with his 15 degree tip, tells me something is off with ur unit...unless your guage is just lying to you, lol!
    Btw, one last thing, the motor in this unit isnt your normal DC Brushless unit, it should be an induction motor, which is why its larger, heavier and quieter.

    Fun fact 2:02... 3,000psi is basically the TOP of what a residential pressure washer can do (above 1GPM) because you simply CAN NOT draw anymore power from a standard electrical outlet (NEMA5-15).
    Your standard electrical outlet have a max current rating of 15amps... which means any outlet in your house can NOMINALLY provide 1,800W of power, but for safety, appliances should only be designed to use 80% of the total capacity (so 1,440W)
    In order to compress 1GPM of water to 3,000psi, it takes 1,305W of power... This pressure washer is rated for 3,000psi @ 1.1GPM (which is 1,425W). See how close those two numbers (1,425W & 1,440W) are?
    Most of the pressure washers listed on Amazon are deceptively marketing their pressure washers by listing the MAXIMUM pressure and MAXIMUM flow they can handle, when in reality, they're never operating at those conditions... but they want you to mislead you into believing that that's their operating pressures. It's very sleazy.

      In other words, it's only rated to not explode at 3,500psi... 🤦So stupid.

      Greenworks or Ryobi are the only 2 reasonably priced, non-commercial electric pressure washers that even come close to their claimed numbers based on the videos/research I did before buying, which is why I ended up with this one. I’ve used mine to pressure wash the siding around my mom’s mobile home twice, also washed my truck a few times with it and used it with the surface cleaner on our concrete patio area a few times and it has held up well so far in the year or so I’ve had it. For $285 you’d be pretty hard pressed to beat it. None of those cheap ones off of Amazon will ever come close to the 3000 or 4000 psi sticker they slap on. It is a bit annoying that you don’t actually get 3000 psi working pressure, but I knew that going into it since I watched the 2700 psi review. I have a lot of asphalt to clean, if it can't hit close to 3000 psi, at a minimum, it doesn't work for me. At that point I'd rather spend $650-850 and get a direct drive gas unit rated for 3600-4000 at 2.5 - 3.5 gpm. The wand is also a little short but that's easy to replace and I already had a longer one from my gas unit.

I do find that I can turn the handle around when I'm storing it so nots not so long which is definitely a plus over the 2300 style. I can't wait to test it with my foam canon.

    GREAT REVIEW! I need to share that (just as Greenworks did w/their 2300 psi model) they "updated" this 3000 psi model quietly and without providing any comparison of their GPW3001 to the original GPW3000 still being sold at Lowes. The cover is different, the start/stop may be different (as I spoke w/Greenworks), and the largest issue is they abandoned the Uberflex 25' (blue) pressure hose in favor of a 3,000 psi-rated (black) pressure hose stating: this “new” hose is a better fit than the Uberflex hose as this is their highest-pressure unit, yet I asked and they have had NO ISSUES with the Uberflex hose. Seems a $30 downgrade to me. I'm sharing as you may be able to review this "new" GPW3001 against its original GPW3000 we all had watched on this channel!

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  2 роки тому +1

      You’ll have to kind of play it by ear and see what works best for you. The 25° cleans a bit better, but requires more back and forth since it makes a smaller stream. You may find that the 40° works just fine.

    How does you GPW3000 work with the Surface Cleaner? I purchased the my GPW3000 and the Greenworks 15-in 3100 PSI Rotating Surface Cleaner. It does not rotate when attach to the pressure washer. I do get water. I went through the troubleshooting process with Greenworks support and they are going to send me another surface cleaner. However, I am curious it the problem is not with the pressure washer itself. What water pressure gauge system are you using?

    • @TonyTheTruckGuy
      @TonyTheTruckGuy  3 роки тому

      So I actually got the 11” surface cleaner instead even though it’s rated for less pressure. It works pretty well and I have another video dropping this Wednesday showing the surface cleaner as well as a few other accessories on the GWP3000. That’s odd that yours isn’t working. The pressure gauge is just something I bought for about $20 on Amazon and I’ll be showing that in my next video as well.

      @@TonyTheTruckGuy Cool... I am looking forward to the upcoming video. Also, I found the problem with the surface cleaner. The center section that attaches the rotating nozzles to the base has a very bad leak. This loss of pressure causes the assembly to not feed enough pressure to the rotating nozzles thus it doesn't rotate. I have to wait for the replacement from Greenworks. None of the many Lowes in the Jacksonville area where I live have any in stock.

      Tough call, honestly. It depends on the specific application and what you're trying to do/how fast you're trying to do it. Most of the wet sand blasting videos I've seen people are using 2600 psi+ gas units, and using it to strip paint on body panels for cars. This unit will check in at a slightly lower pressure, but will probably still do the job if you're patient with it, and all you're doing is paint stripping.

    Tony, I need some advice! I am contemplating the GWP 2700 vs the GWP 3000. My concern is that I want to add a surface cleaner for sidewalks and driveways. At this PSI (2700-3000) it seems too strong for the 12" surface cleaners (for electric pressure washers up to 2300), but too week for the surface cleaners made for gas pressure washers (3200 PSI and up). What do you think? If you were to buy a surface cleaner for this machine, would you go with the 12" or move up to the 15-16" (recommended for gas)? I like this one from Ryobi because the castor wheels make it so much easier to move around. Mostly anything you chose will work. I actually have the 11” or 12” Greenworks surface cleaner that’s only rated to about 2000 psi, but I’ve used it on this unit twice so far without any issue. It was like $40 which was way cheaper than the others, so I if it breaks, it breaks and I’ll get a bigger one lol. The pressure washer really only makes 3000 psi when not pulling the trigger. It drops to about 2000 or a little more at that point.
