    This is one of the best repair videos I’ve ever watched. No jump cuts, shows everything you need to do to fix it. Chill commentary as well, thanks Joe

    What a great video. I also added more thermal paste, which was just removal of three more screws. Removing the heat sink will make the fan cable installation a little easier (if you are adding more thermal paste)

    Awesome video! I ended up removing the heatsink and adding new thermal paste, which wasn't shown (Its so simple, so I can see why it was skipped), but otherwise this was perfect! TY!!

    This was a very helpful video. I followed along as I changed the fan on my son's switch. I ended up taking off the heat sink and adding new thermal paste afterwards. I undid the screws on the card reader and disconnected the cable next to the fan. This allowed enough access to undo the third screw on the fan. Other than that, it was a pretty straight forward fix. Thanks for the video.

      @@Joesge Hey, your website doesn't have a way to fix overheating for Nintendo switch.
      There is not a button for overheating or fix the fan. It would be nice if you added a fix the fan button. I don't want to choose cracked screen because that's not what I'm sending it for
      I don't want to send it for power problems because there's no power problems.
      I don't want to send it for charging because there's no charging problems.
      So I have no button for fixing the fan. What do you do in this situation?.
      I was planning on using you instead of my local computer store. But there is no way I can send it. It doesn't have a spot for overheating.

    • @Joesge

      The switch Lite is different, but similar. If you are pretty electronically inclined you could figure it out pretty easy. Unfortunately we do not have a video on how to replace a fan on a switch lite, but there probably are some on UA-cam.

    I changed the fan my daughter's Nintendo Switch(original), and now the touch screen and game reader are not working, how much pressure is needed to seat the reader connector? Is it supposed to rock after it is installed properly? I am afraid to put too much pressure on it to seat the connector, I am uncertain if it is seated. It does not click when it is pushed down, is it supposed to? I have studied the pins and socket and can not see anything wrong.

    • @Joesge
      @Joesge  8 місяців тому +1

      This is almost 100% the game reader not plugged into the main board. It will snap into place when you plug it in, but doesn't need excessive pressure.
      Here is a time stamp to example: ua-cam.com/video/nVep_yK0DMs/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared&t=561

    Do you guys still work on switches? I followed along and my fan works, but the SD card isn't being recognized. It looks like it's plugged in well, but no dice when actually booted. I wouldn't mind sending it in but it looks like the site doesn't have an options for switches.

    Trying to replace the fan with the heatsink in place was really hard, popping the heatsink off is easy. 1/10 do not recommend.

  • @VegaSpydr
    @VegaSpydr Рік тому +2

    Do the right thing, take the heatsink off, don't risk breaking the connector by finagling under the heat pipe, it takes 10 more seconds to do it, and you can replace the thermal paste while you are at it.
