Happy you posted this. NFL should be ashamed for cutting away to commercial. A fitting tribute to a legendary football player and wonderful human being. Rest in peace in the arms of our Lord, Franco.
I was 2 years behind him at Penn State, watched him play there. And I was able to watch all of Franco's career while I lived in Pittsburgh. Franco sat 2 seats away from me at Heinz Hall for a concert once, I observed him interacting with the crowd and he was a real gentleman.
When legends pass, real football fans stop being fans of their team for a brief moment to respect the greatness of the player we lost. It would work both ways. Merry Christmas.
Can't believe NFL Network went to commercial during this tribute. Unreal!!! Tonight's game was amazing and a great tribute to Franco Harris with a win and touchdown in the last minute of the game. And... Steelers fans ROCK! with love from Florida.
There has been no greater play in NFL history than the Immaculate Reception. Franco was a great player as well as a respected man in the community. RIP Franco
So thankful for UA-cam showing this. Unfortunately, the network abruptly cut to commerical right at the video display. Life Time Steeler Fan. Love my Steelers since I first laid my eyes on NFL during the 70's.
Franco is the reason I became a football fan back in 1972. My Mom met him and had him autograph his photo for me, it’s hanging in my Steeler Woman Cave fifty years later. I loved him and all he did for Pittsburgh. Rest In Peace, Franco! 🖤💛💔
I'm not a Steeler fan but I did enjoy watching Franco and how solid a runner he was and his service to the city of Pittsburgh. Gone but not forgotten. RIP #32.
Thank you for posting this video, since the NFL Network shamefully cut away from the broadcast of this ceremony to show commercials. The NFL Network disgraced itself. Franco Harris is a football, and Pittsburgh Steelers legend, and his life deserves to be celebrated. 🏈💛🖤🕊
Franco will always represent the heart of a city , Pittsburgh , Pennsylvanmia. RIP dear Franco you took the city to heights unknown and made it the city of champions
Thank you for live posting this. The NFL network proved again why they didn't deserve this game, they cut the entire video and additional comments. Hope the commercial money was worth your credibility. Trash
NFL Network, great way of honoring the late great legend Franco Harris by cutting to commercials during his jersey retirement ceremony. You hype it up all week and you do that??? You did all NFL fans wrong. No respect!!! Rest In Peace #32 Franco Harris 🏈🇮🇹
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this video. This video means everything to real Steelers fans. The NFL network robbed us from seeing this video after the ceremony on the field so they could make money on commercials. Shame on you NFL network. Whoever made this decision should be fired.
A LOT OF FRANCO TALK last night at our annual Family Christmas Eve gathering None of us are true Steelers fans , but football fans and fans of greatness LONG LIVE Franco and the great Steelers teams he was part of Such a man of class, dignity and a fierce competitor THANK YOU FRANCO FOR ALL THE MEMORIES YOU GAVE US
I remember that day vividly. I was listening to the game on the radio because in those days, home games were never televised - and thought that it was over - and then.....it happened. Franco Harris will live in the heart of every Steeler fan forever. RIP to one of the greatest who ever played the game.
Patriot nation salutes the Steeler alumni,Ownership, and their dedicated fans..with the passing of #32 Franco Harris...he was a fine man,ballplayer,....and a credit to the League..he could play with the best of them..for my money, 1 of the all time greats..i tip my cap to the Harris family for your loss.....rest in peace big fella..you will be missed..👍..🇺🇲
Franco is my childhood hero, the first game I remember watching was the immaculate reception game. I have been a Steelers fan ever since. I had the pleasure of meeting Franco a couple of times over the years most recently last year I took my Son to meet Franco at an autograph show in NJ. Franco was gracious and took his time with my Son. Great player Great person and a Great humanitarian! Always the Champ! Rip 32
How the hell did the NFL Network spend the entire week teasing this Franco Harris ceremony, teasing it during the entire pregame show, and teasing it during the game ONLY FOR IT TO CUT AWAY JUST BEFORE THE TRIBUTE AIRED?????
Known for being on of the greatest Steelers of all time, he was more than that - he was a great human being, a man of integrity and quality. 🖤💛 FRANCO HARRIS #32 FOREVER! 💛🖤
I remember sitting on my mom's shoulders in the freezing cold for the Championship parade for the 76 SB n getting a Franco Harris "Italian Army" seat cushion he was throwing out.......🖤💛
What a 7 minute emotional journey for me. Tears of sadness because Franco has left us to soon and tears of absolute pride of his accomplishments and the person that he was.
Thank you for sharing this. I was so disappointed when they cut to commercial like that. I was going to go to that game but it was way too cold. Dana broke my heart because you could tell her heart was just broken. Dok kept watching her to make sure she was OK. Bless Franco and his family.
Thank you for posting this… NFL Network cut to commercial at 2:35 and cut out this great tribute to a great man. RIP Franco - you may be gone but your legend will live forever.
A truly beautiful man, heart of Gold! He's done so much for our community and was friends with each of us, even if he didn't know us. He is greatly missed but, will live on forever in our hearts! Legends never die 💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
I had met Franco on several occasions and each time I was struck by his unpretentious, humble demeanor, as if he was just another guy in the room. Funny tho, every 70s-era Steeler I'd ever met had a similar quality. It must have been something special about that team or that era or both.
Since 1972, Franco Harris will forever be the key player leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Superbowl championship wins in a decade back in the 70's that defined that the last of a great dynasty NFL team. He will be always remembered for getting things turned around, and putting the Pittsburgh Steelers on the winning side. His success was truly inspiring, and because of the super 70s team, as a result "Steelers Nation" was born, and fans followed him or became interested in watching football because of Franco Harris was on the field doing great things. Thank you for the memories Franco. You truly, deserved the honor "34" being retired. Because of you and your 70s team, we have the "terrible towel", oh and thank Myron for that.
Franco made his mark in the NFL and on the Steelers especially after making that catch and run. Like Joe said when Franco arrived they became the Pittsburgh Steelers, God speed #32 you are a true legend, to the Harris Family so sorry for your loss.
The 50th anniversary of the immaculate reception against the raiders. Fitting that it’s against the same team. LV fans probably was pissed at that matchup. But raider fans, the man died a few days prior to the game, show a little sympathy for the steeler faithful.
Viking fan here. I always liked Franco, he was one of those players that you never had a bad opinion about. He always played his best and with class. Was hard to watch him in his final year with the Seahawks. He looked out of place in their inform. Truly a sad day for football, Thanks Franco for the incredible memory that is the Immaculate reception and all your Super Bowl wins. You were a hero to us young boys playing football in the park in the 70s. I’m now 55 and still see you in the same way. RIP FRANCO HARRIS 😔
Life is rarely fair, but losing Franco days before this celebration was particularly tragic. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this.” Truer words were never spoken.
Some seriously GREAT football players. I loved the Steelers when I was little. Franco and Rocky will always be two of my all time favorites. So wish he could have been present for this.
At least this one Browns fan is misting up watching this. Tippy toe hell. In his first start, which was against the Browns, I remember two defenders being carried off. I can also remember watching that game, looking at the two teams, and thinking "This is the future ' with no great enjoyment. RIP Franco.

I started crying when Rooney said, "it wasnt supposed to be like this."
I held it in until his wife rested her head on AJR II. Lost it then!! R.I.P. Franco! Forever in our hearts! HERE!! WE. GO!!
You don’t know when your time in this earth will be up.

I'm a Bengals fan and even I felt saddened by this ceremony and Harris's passing. He will live on forever in the hearts of NFL fans
@@handsome-brute2666 he wasn't on that team, his rookie year was 1974 😳

True football fans respect great players, even when they played for rival teams.
Me too a Ravens fan
Going to commercial break to make a few extra bucks instead of showing video was as classless as it comes.. R.I.P Franco . We love you.
Couldn't agree more. I was horrified.
53 year Cowboys fan here. I loved those Steelers teams in the 70's and I loved Franco Harris. Rest easy.

NFL network can't help it, they're just stupid.
appropriate, it was a win at the last minute (second) 50 years ago and almost exact same score
Franco was our Steeler and he belonged to our city.
There has been no greater play in NFL history than the Immaculate Reception. Franco was a great player as well as a respected man in the community. RIP Franco
