Just bought this Sunday. Screen mirroring is greyed out and Android auto won't recognize my USB cable. All it does is charge my phone. Bluetooth connects but tells me problem connecting to device, power off and back on. Any suggestions? I'm really considering returning it back to bestbuy.

Hi Since installing this unit in my car, it's been draining my battery. help please.
Roy, when the receiver is set up correctly it will not draw from the electrical system when the key is off. It's likely there is an issue with the Ignition wire ( Red ) being connected to where your constant wire (yellow ) should go. You need the red wire connected to a key ignition source and should not have power when the key is off, the yellow wire should be connected to a constant 12v source and will maintain power with the key off ( to retain memory and settings.) You could also have an issue with poor ground or corrosion on your battery terminals.

@@KenwoodUSA Ok, thanks for the tips. I will re-check my connections. It also looks like my unit is 2 firmware iterations old. Would updating potentially solve this as well?
@@FGCScrub Software updates won't affect your issue, it's mostly to stay current with changes in smartphone software or improve features. Your issue is likely an install-related issue. Thanks!
I just got the DMX709S and on CarPlay it will suddenly kill CarPlay and go back to the Home Screen as if CarPlay was never connected. I have to pull out USB then put back in. Real buzz kill when ur jammin. Anyone else having this issue with the 709??
Darren, Since this uses a wired USB connection it's often the cable itself that can cause intermittent disconnection. Cables and the smartphone connection port occur wear and tear. Be sure to test with a new cable and check the phone charging port for damage or debris. Some flush-mounted USB adaptor ports and OEM retained USB can also cause issues with connection reliability. You may need to bypass these to test connection quality. Thanks!
@@KenwoodUSA thank you, I did see that on the Google machine and I now have more Mfi certified cables than whiskey bottles in the cupboard. Unfortunately, that didn’t change anything.
However, I finally found something that I think is working. Some of these I already had set, but after changing the last two I have now driven two days in a row with zero crashes.
- Settings/Music
-- Turn off EQ
-- Turn off Sound Check
-- Set Dolby Atmos to Off (mine was on Automatic)
- Settings/Face ID &Passcode/Accessories
-- Turn Accessories slider at bottom to On (mine was Off)
This appears to have fixed it. Share with everyone. Now I really LOVE this unit!!! Absolutely love it. 🤟👍🏻🔊
