Tried one in person today. This demo really doesn’t capture the amp very well at all. I was blown away by how good the gain sounded. The clean and boutique sounds are also great.
Would you say it sounds really good for a modeling amp or did it really sound and feel that good from the perspective of someone who would know good tube amps? I’m thinking about grabbing one for the living room and for late night time playing. My concern is that I do have a Princeton and a Friedman Runt and that my expectations should be lowered.
@@VintageRadius I used to be a valve amp and boutique pedal snob and can tell you I love mine. I’ve used it for a few gigs now and it sounds great. My only warning is it doesn’t sound like a real tube amp. It sounds like a detailed responsive digital preamp into a very clean power amp & guitar cabinet with a tonne of headroom. I dig it because it lets you focus more on playing then obsessing pedals and gear.
I would have loved to have had this amp many years ago when I first started playing. I think it’s great for what it is. Low cost plug and play. Great bedroom amp. For my ears? A used EVH lbx 15 watt tube amp with a few pedals for maybe just a little more out of pocket is a better sounding route to go.
When I compare it to your Katana video I don’t hear anything that tells me sell Katana right away for this. The internet seems to be calling for this at least most YT channels.
I usually like your demos for being well balanced as far as genres are concerned. This one missed the mark. The press I read about this amp determined that it was aiming for the blues jazz classic and alternative rock markets. Most of this demo lean far too heavy on the outdated “beer commercial” riffs.

@@VintageRadius No just straight up a good sounding practice amp in my opinion. For TV volume playing you will be more than happy with the tone.

You guys make me want to buy one, is it that good even after several months?
@@alexdenton6586 Yeah in my opinion, Boss Katana is a better pedal platform, if you want gain sounds the Line 6 is better.
Does it a good job on playing Rockabilly with it ?
Really good video, thanks

meh....nothing wow there...its a spider amp to my ears
Except it 100% is nothing like Spider. These are all new amp models made with the same HX level of modeling as the Helix/HX family.
Blows the doors off anything under $400
