ford 4000 and new u-joint on the pto shaft

I just got a 4000 ford and 6 foot bush hog that needs a new u-joint on the pto shaft

961 is 40 Belt hp. The Row Crops lost power thru the funky drop box style outboard final drive like Allis had. The 861 utility had 50 Belt HP but more drawbar hp. Your 4000 looks to be an export from the headlights in the grille but it doesn't have the full fenders from Europe. I'm guessing likely Canada if it's English on the dash and hood placards. Your 4500 has a front mounted hydraulic pump and lots of internal differences behind the clutch especially with shuttle shift. I understood the rear housings carry wider axle bearings to handle the weight of a backhoe. Rear housings look similar externally but lacked some machining internally or in the case of axle bearings would be cut deeper. These tractirs were built tough. I was fairly young when these tractors were new, but they were all over our neighborhood. Several of each; everthing from 3000 to 8000, even a traded back red to blue 6000. My Father as well as myself were raised on Fords and a JD here and there. I have a 981 Diesel for Parades. Lots of people rolled their eyes at Ford but the 65 and up tractors were tough tough machines. Always thought the 7000 utility was dynamite in a small package.
