It's funny, I feel like learning about Scott was such a fun coincidence/clash of my different interests coming together. I'm a mandolin player, learned it as a kid, because of the amazing band Nickel Creek. The frontman of that group is mandolin prodigy Chris Thile, and he's been my musical idol ever since. I've seen him play more times than I can count, been to a few of his masterclasses, etc. Then picked up the pipe about 10 years ago and it's also become one of my passions and I thing that I often partake in WHILE playing my mandolin. I just learned about Scott this year from Pipedia, and of course upon reading his name, immediately googled him, and sure enough, he's the father of Chris Thile. I owe a lot to their family I suppose!
