Zippo is kinda better because you can repair it as much as you like, all bics cant be refilled and zippo can run on basically enything flammable. But then again, zippo is more expensive than bic,whic also burns for longer on one refill. Bic is newer but i still go with the zippo. And one major factor is that bic isnt windproof while zippo is, i mean it can be extinguished by strong wind, but bic can be extinguished by a lighter breeze. I owned like a gazillion of bics and their flint breaks before it spends 50% of its fuel. And a few of my bics broke while my zippo can be repaired, although it hardly breaks. Bic is your everyday quality lighter, but zippos design is straight up cooler, it has a bigger and stronger flame and all that. Zippo is also the legendary lighter which has more disigns and when you have one your friends tend to think that you are not any usual person because BIC is BasIC and all other lighters look like bics, while you can recognize a zippo from afar. Oh yeah and when a zippo gets wet it usually burns, however if its lid was open you need to dry it out, however a bic doesnt have any protection and it usually does work but when it doesnt there is no recovering it. Overall zippo is my pick but i also use bics often Edit: oh i forgot to mention that all the people who think zippo is outdated, it is but it still eorks like a charm, so there is no need to replace them. Newer and more modern zippos exist, but zippo remains the same in honor of the american army. Zippo was originally made for them. And zippos were found on numerous battlefields, some of which still worked
Great fair video. I have both and always will. I have dropped a Bic and the wheel fell off. Break out the emergency Zippo. I even have a Zippo that is converted to burn butane. I like both and am glad you were fair and determined both had a place.
I don't know if you have clipper lighters over there. It's like a bic but a little more robust, refillable and you can change the flint. I used to use these when I smoked. Now I just have lots of bics in pockets, backpacks and kits. Bics are so cheap and because I don't use them all of the time they tend to get lost before they run out of gas. Zippos are just a lot more money than I am prepared to spend on a lighter. Good subject mate, thanks for sharing.
Bic mainly because the fluid doesnt evaporate in 14 minutes like the zippo does. Felt like everytime i went to use my zippo after a few days, it wouldn't light and id have to bum a light from someone
I like the Clipper lighter rather than the Bic (it is basically the British version of the Bic) if I can get them, they are just a refillable disposable lighter. You can pick them up off Ebay for a couple of bucks each. Zippo's suck IMHO, I used one for years when I smoked. They leak. I totally agree they transfer the taste of the Zippo fluid through to the smoke. The 'tricks' often work the lid loose. From experience they are pretty wind resistant. I prefer peanut lighters, granted they are usually a lot smaller, but they don't leak and IMO work a lot better than a Zippo.

Traditional Vs Modern My Zippo spends more time in my drawer.. I will never get rid of it and it is well worn but I run with the Bic...
