Hi thanks Paul, the rod is the solpara light jigging 64g from majorcraft. Its a very powerful bendy stick nothing is too much for it in the uk. The reel is the fin nor primal jigging special, i rate this reel highly and way better than most of the very expensive jigging reels available. It creates a great fight and would much rather lighter gear than the heavier rods any day!
Hi, normally use power pro 20lb or jbraid grand 22lb. Theres a few specialist spj braids that do benefit being so thin but they dont have any abrasion resistance.
Theres so much variety and cost levels. This is the majorcraft solpara light jigging rod and i think the fin nor jigging special reel. Its a cheap package that has served me well with fish up to and over 30lb on this setup. Like anything you can spend alot of some gear even up to £600 for just a real Best advice is to get a reasonable rod with a soft action but a powerful butt. Then invest in the best reel you can afford. Its the reel that does the work.
