If we're gonna (meta) bury this series in the third game, I think the missing element is gonna be a theme of breaking cycles. Both 1 and 2 place great emphasis on the cyclical nature of conflict, and how humanity keeps making the same mistakes thinking we're smarter than our ancestors. Le'garde's speeches in 2 have him yapping about how he used to seek godhood and making "sacrifices for the greater good" when he was young, and how that's a mistake he won't make again. While literally standing in the town he razed in order to oversee Logic's birth and control her. imo, a third game that closes the series and is the meta/thematic end of everything, would need to delve into people finally being humble enough to admit there's things we can't control, and that using violence to exert control never works for long. I can see something like an ultimate sacrifice where the protagonists end their lives in an attempt to free their loved ones or even each other from Logic and Le'garde's world, and whoever survives the ordeal draws a hard line to never seek this power again, and do whatever they can to help people and live their lives as just that, people. The lesson would have to be about how love is the only thing that makes life worth living and that's a beauty that no gods or vampires or military empires can ever hope to replace. Love is what makes us survive, through even fear and hunger.
That makes a lot of sense. I wonder if it being a more "personal" story means an acceptance that humanity as a whole will never stop, but individual people can?
@@viltautasYT The main underlying theme of the first game is maintaining hope and goodness even in the most horrific of circumstances. "Nice" themes are an underlying and yet prevalent characteristic of Funger.
It could still be like, for example, Dark Souls. A series also about the cyclical and Sisyphean nature of humanity's hubris, but if you've played the whole series, well, you'd know you don't need an ending in which that cycle is broken for it to be satisfying or good.
In my opinion, French Revolution or rather some F&H equivalent (Rondonian Revolution?) would be great set for the next game. -Bloody mass psychosis: executions on the streets, carnage in the Palace, fire in the Cathedra, gore and madness in "Paris". -Gothic horror era: a lot of dark inspirations from the Georgian/Victorian era, Vampires in wigs practicing occultism etc. -Golden age of Free-masonry: Conspiracy theories, Secret societies influencing the world from behind the curtain. -Cultural shift in Europe (Europa): Competition between the Old Gods and New Gods, Superstition of Old Beliefs vs Arrogancy of Enlightenment. -Romanticism begin, people fear the Unknown again.
Salivating at the mouth thinking of this concept...it's so gooodd... it would be a bit weird within the timeline since termina is supposed to be ww1 or 2 but the time skip between 'medieval dark ages' and '1930s aesthetic' is so big that we could just place it in the middle. I'd love more info abt the sulfur god in this game as well
So here's my takeaways in the major inspirations: - Each story has people who start in one group that end up pushed to join another group while having to face a much greater threat from those who seem like them but are fundamentally different. (Twilight has good vampires vs bad vampires, Warriors vs Rogues, FF7 has humans and Cetra vs Jenova and Sephiroth). - Each story features a world that is different in the light of day (i.e. what is known to everyone) vs the dark underbelly (i.e. the 'truth'). - Each story features someone who is a somewhat unreliable narrator or stars a central protagonist with a distorted view of the world. Bella is so obsessed with Edward that she'll allow him to do things that she'll say is creepy when other guys do it. Swan probably had a more positive outlook on his own gang and world before the movie began vs how it ended. Cloud has had his memory distorted by a few different events. - Each story has a group that ends up trying to protect someone innocent from a massive threat. - Each story has the main team running afoul of the law/central authority figures. - Each story has two people having a chance meeting that results in an important connection and/or romance. On the wishlist: - I can see catgirls and elves being new icons that Logic hides behind to influence people, just like modern vTubers. Since the tech levels are going to be different from our world, I wouldn't put it past Funger's creator to recreate them with differing technology. - The Yellow Mages might have become Vampires and might be under the influence of Nas'Rah. I could see Nas'rah using them as a more efficient means to get the meat he needs to create a new body for himself. - Le'Garde's influences will likely be the key to the more positive / beneficial routes for Funger 3.
Funger 3 Wishlist: Characters in cool suits, coats, gowns, etc. Fun music Domesticity (mundane things) to contrast the chaos. E.G. a character makes tea when we return home at dawn to save.
@@MYTHONICS It'd be nice if, as the game goes on, eventually something goes wrong, and intrudes on the domestic moments. Like we stir up too much trouble, and we hear gunshots, ambulances, or arrests at dawn. Or, more simply, because of our choices, we're left all alone, and we have to make our own tea, when we drink it, a text box says, "It's not the same."
Fear and Hunger 3? Ladies and gentlemen, this singular man named Miro has beaten a full on game studio at making trilogies go up to three. (Where is left 4 dead 3?)
An important thing to note is that if the third game is set in Vinland, we might see a bit of a shift in how the world is presented to us. In the first two games, we were put into a world with unfamiliar, otherworldly powers and magic, but locations and a history that (vaguely) parallel our own (the dark ages and WWII). This gave those two games a weird sense of familiarity. Vinland, on the other hand, is described as being a massive departure from the real Americas. It was described in the first game as a barren, dark continent, devoid of life and filled with monsters. It’s a place that’s hardly been touched by man, even well into the 20th century. I think that if a game is to be set there, then it’ll be in a very alien and unfamiliar setting.
Maybe in the current state of Vinland, the cities are dangerous, but people stay in them in spite of everything because outside the cities are even more dangerous.
@@BaronElBardo if it is centered around Vinushka, I'll be so happy. the owl cultists and sassy frogs were great. seeing full funger forest politics would be cool.
That's what i was thinking. It feels very in line with WoD and the Modern Nights. A world where the monsters are hiding in the shadows. Twilight and the Warriors fit the gang/coteries of vampires as they vie for power within the domain.
I actually have it downloaded, for some reason, and when working or doing stuff around the house it always pops up and I aleays listen to tye whole thing, I even "sing along" to that shit lmao
Vampires do exist in Funger though, just not LITERAL vampires. There is a weapon description that directly refers to creatures that we would consider a vampire, or ghoul, or "Lord of the Night" lol. That's also assuming that the God of Ultra Violence didn't eradicate them or send them into hiding back in the dark ages. Maybe that is the direction Miro is going to go because he already planted that seed, or maybe it was a throw away line long forgotten.
Found it, it was the Sabbath weapon. It directly referred to the witch and vampire hunts conducted by the church. So it could have been propaganda from the church to create a literal witch hunt, but it wouldn't make sense to refer to vampires (a word that shouldn't exist if they don't exist. Like in the Walking Dead how zombie media doesn't exist so the word zombie doesn't exist.) I would like to think that he had these seeds planted this entire time. We shall see though.
Miro is going to pull a TobyFox and wreck all of our expectations in the most unpredictable way possible. I'm sure that the Twilight inspiration references to the deeper Vampire lore in the books, in which a vampire fetus rips out from the womb.
Considering this, Twilight probably being a hint that Griffit- I mean Legarde will be back in some form (inhuman human Character), coinciding with the Final Fantasy VII inspiration, where a 'clone' or 'backup body' of Legarde is trying to resist the fate placed upon him by his progenitor. The Warriors is probably a hint that there will be rival gangs, or cults, or organizations that are trying to foil, help, or steal for their own benefit whatever new ritual or plan that Legarde has.
Also with the FFVII thing, I hope this means that Moonless will be back, if not one of her descendants, and now they're a talking wolf that tags along like how RedXIII was.
@@MYTHONICS Funny in hindsight if this were the case, because Ragnvaldr/August or another descendant is the Cloud expy and now it's family tradition to hunt down any and all of Legarde's 'Blood Golems'. "HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON, (twink) OLD MAN?!"
I really like the creative choice of setting the background of a rich and dense world for several iterations of series, only to have the series end on the note of a very intimate personal story. You have the greater context of the world around the character, how nations rose and fell. You even have the occult creation myth, and how the modern era rose from those ancient ashes. However you use all that pre-amble just to give context to a person living in a world, and their need for community, and possibly even love. It would be really interesting to see Miro use this premise to explore interpersonal relationships, and the horrific need to belong in a society that alienates you. Logic is supposed to be the greater mind link of consciousness, but what happens to those who don’t fit into that ‘utopian collective’? I also am grinning ear to ear picturing an occult cyberpunk future filled with magic based gangs and alchemical drug dealers. I hope Miro takes his time to iron out what ever concept he has!
To me it would make more sense if youre playing as vampires from the start. Since that would allow for hunger to stay a gameplay element in a more open and modern world
with the idea of everything being a cycle, it being a love story, and the theme being destruction. i think were going to be playing as gro-goroth. not literally obvious but at least on some parallel, with the love interest being a stand in for sylvian. whether thats characters believing they're reincarnations of the gods or just some hints at it. maybe with some final fantasy 7 parallels with them fighting the society to help bring back some nature to the world. like gro-groth and sylvian making vinushka.
Can't believe I didn't make that connection. If there really is a romantic couple at the heart of the game of course they're going to riff on the Grogoroth/Sylvian ship
Your idea for F&H3 sounds pretty neat! Personally I'd like to see a Fear & Hunger that takes place over two different time periods (say, the 1990s and 2030s). You have two completely different parties, one for each era: as you might expect, decisions from the past can affect your future party; but, strangely enough, some decisions in the future can also echo back and affect the past party... As a simple example: let's say the past party uses dynamite to blow up some debris blocking a tunnel. In the future, the party can now use that tunnel as a shortcut. Simple enough. Conversely, let's say the future party does a quest for an NPC who mentions an exchange he made with the past party. After talking to him in the future, the past party can encounter him and trade weapons with him. The next time the future party goes to talk to that NPC, he has passed on and has willed the traded weapon to the party, allowing a sort of weapon transfer from the past to potentially get a weapon you otherwise wouldn't be able to. Endings would be determined by whether one or both parties survive to an ultimate end. As for the method of swapping back and forth, I imagine it might be related to beds and saving much like the first two games place emphasis on those methods; but it could also be something completely new.
you are missing something huge and that is that Logics goal is to absorb every human in herself by the artificial green and make ALL of humanity ascend not just a few
Miro avoiding theories to keep his own ideas pure is so respectable. I love how genuine he is about his work. Solve Et Coagula, to my knowledge was originally a fangame that took place in the future where Logic was all worn and rusted, so I have genuinly no idea where a F&H3 could go, but if it represents dungeon nights more than actual dungeon nights, I would not survive, lol.
can we add JoJo to his minor inspirations? going from world changing events to a mundane setting with low stakes its just part 4 and a hard page of the "How to" book from Hirohiko Araki
I’m not sure if this is too big of an ask of Miro, but I really hope that Vinushka being the vessel for Logic (as is heavily hinted at in Termina) is built upon in F&H3’s themes or lore. For example, looking at the balance between collectivism and individualism. If F&H3 has gangs or brotherhoods as per his stated inspirations, you could easily explore how these groups make and emphasize distinctions between them and yet require individual members within to act and sacrifice to benefit the group. Hell, you could even use this as a way to have the narrative to further interrogate/explore Le’garde’s motives. Even the setting being Vinland/the US and how it both champions individualism but still has the one of the largest armies in the world would be ripe for commentary and exploration of this idea. Obviously there are other human-centered diametric themes that could work, but I really hope at least some are incorporated.
It's not officially announced yet, but he's started some planning. He won't start real work on it until after this next Termina patch, but Termina will still be the priority for a little while
My guess for F&H 3 is that logic was successfully launched and led humanity to prosperity for an unknown, yet considerable amount of time. At some point logic goes offline for good, and at this point the old god’s influence has completely vanished, leading to the world being almost completely devoid of any higher powers or traces of divinity. The story then revolves around how different groups cope with the loss of their gods, how the new gods are still left as puppets on a string with no masters to be puppeteered by, and of how humanity as a whole responds to realizing we’ve been left behind and are now completely alone (which is probably to start killing each other). I have no idea where vampires or vampirism fit into this, other than it maybe serving the purpose of a placebo for those who wish to ascend as a new god since that’s no longer possible now that the old god’s influence has disappeared
Legarde is a vampire. Vampires are results of blood magic and necromancy. There are implications in Funger 2 that vampires and witches were a real problem and there were massive witch hunts and vampire hunts.
D’arce blood magic spell in the first game is how you make a vampire. That’s what Legarde has been this whole time. He’s not a new god or an old god. He’s a vampire.
Here's my wishlist, not in order : - I really hope he makes connections with the other games not as blatant as possible. Just like Nashrah being an item "exclusive" to O'saa or August being a Ragnavaldr descendant but being the most secretive contestant and not playable. - I want the setting to be before the 2000's (70's-80's would be perfect) and I also hope we could have different mood in different areas just like the Ruins/Forest/Old Town/Foundation of Decay/Church are all so different. That's a thing that makes the 1st game kinda repetitive sometimes. (preference for Neon, retro vibes) - I want to face dilemmas just like a Don't Nod game (for those who know) where the choices you make are very engaging. Fun thing is, they have made Vampire based game being Vampyr and they nailed it with the vampire lifestyle, complicated relationships and moral dilemmas. - I want more side plots/easter eggs that are still relevant to the lore like the Heartless One, Cockroach King, etc. - I want a revamp of the Hexen like Miro did from 1 to 2. - I want DoT's to be nerfed and more different playstyles - I want to be able to play savior runs, neutral runs and g*nocidal runs. - I want 5 endings just like F&H1 and also a return of S endings - I want more gods lore
I would love to see him lean into some "the thing" related horror. For example imagine you could have the shapeshifters join your party and attack you randomly. But personally, i love his amalgamation of horror into over arching plot points and whatever i would like to see in termina, or a fear & hunger 3, i wouldn't want any 1 theme to overshadow another.
I feel you missed an important thing in FF7. I don't know how relevant it may or may not be, but: A major plot point is that Holy might wipe all human life from the planet. It destroys all threats to the planet, and there's tension over whether or not humans, who use Mako energy ripped straight from the lifestream, blighting the land, might be destroyed along with meteor. The fact that the game skips from Holy being activated to an unknown number of years later where Midgar is overrun by plant life means that the answer is actually ambiguous as to whether everyone live happily ever after or not. Aaaand then the sequel movie came out and went "Nah, humans were fine." Which sucks, IMO, but hey.
I think a good way that Miro could truly end the series is by making it so that whatever “Ending A” or “Ending S” is the one of the main characters essentially learning to reject the need for any god, any higher power and believe in themselves. A big part of magic especially in the first game is that humans are actually capable of doing all the magic they do without gods, but because even the most megalomaniacal person is held back by inhibition, humans need gods to do those things. Someone learning how to completely reject the need for any greater power and believe in themselves and their abilities and teach humans to do the same could easily erase the gods completely.
@@s8tn622it'd be really cool if in fung3r, there's this benevolent "god" who helps the player in their journey, and when we finally meet him it's just enki, who still looks the same after all these years. and worst of all, he's still human despite finding the key to immortality. the gods hate him and they're manipulating the player into killing him.
I would like the concepts of fear and hunger to be a little more prevalent. I'm not saying that the relevant god needs to appear or even be mentioned. I just want the titular concepts to play a role, even if it's subtle and not directly pointed out.
I imagine a dark city on Vinland full of cultists and people running from stuff (Since who in their right mind would go to Vinland unless they're a fugitive or something, it's like the Alaska of the FH world) where various gang-like cults and organizations are fighting behind the scenes, and the main character ends up involved in it somehow.
Rumors have it that FEH 3 will have a new soul type: the Ballin' One. The possesor of which would be a famous sportsman (foot, basket or baseball through background choice) joining the spaceshutle heading to the mars base for their sponsor. Their ultimate soul move being the Slam Jam which lets them throw a ball so hard it hits every enemy for unblockable damage and even has a chance of insta killing. My source? R'her itself told me. Trust me.
While Miro made no mention of it, keep Digital Devil Saga in mind as its plot, ideas, and themes line up with what Miro has mentioned regarding what he’s looking for with Funger 3’s production
The fact that Miro is prepared to make a game that he thinks a lot of the fanbase will not like is really brave and I hope the fanbase will not become ultra-retarded
I'd find it interesting if F&H3 takes partly place on the internet (like social networks, virtual spaces like Habbo). At some point, the boundaries between the virtual spaces and the real world could become ambiguous, making a twisted reality (like an horrific isekai).
I wanna point out? Fear and Hunger already took heavy inspiration from The Warriors. The Warriors were the best, but they didn't go looking for a fight and focused more on escape and survival. The ONE time they fought they got tired and exhausted and the train took them home.
I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out, but F&H universe already has it's own vampires, it's own take on petty immortals that control humans from the shadows, who believe themselves to be all mighty and powerful but can't hold a candle against the power of the true God(s). Yeah, I'm talking about the new gods. I really hope vampires in F&H 3 are connected to the new gods somehow
I smell a potential "Midnight Animal situation". Midnight Animal was a very hyped up mod for the beloved Hotline Miami series, but the creator somewhere along the way changed his inspirations a bit, particularly citing persona and its positivity as a big one (you can see the persona inspiration in some of Miro's early termina sketches). Midnight animal eventually had a bit of an anime artstyle and the community took it really badly, since after all a gaming community revolving around a very violent niche game wasn't exactly going to be known for its compassion and open-mindedness. All of this debacle took a tool on the creator and he eventually dropped it entirely more or less. Fear and Hunger also has a somewhat rabid fanbase clamoring after that same violent, tense atmosphere from the originals, so to shift that into full gear teen romance is definitely a bold move. Could be more trouble than its worth. Im sure that even if the game is spitingly different from the originals, it would still have that same intelligence and creativity that the other two games had, but ngl 2027+ release date is damn depressing. I don't even know if I'm gonna see this happening. It was a wild ride up until this point anyhow, it was nice to see it.
Brother, I don't know if you've seen the Funger community. But like half of them are shippers, and the other half are extremely chill. Hell, even if F&H3 was a Dungeon Nights², we'd gladly play it
As a hotline miami player i remember this and it was a mistake on both parts as the fanbase definitely were too harsh on the creator and were just toxic but the creator made many changes without telling the fanbase or looking for feedback. But obviously it was his project and he can do whatever he wants with it but to completely change the game in ways that dont fit at all and still expect the fanbase to support it was just a bit dellusional
"If LeGard isn't your favourite, then why?" "Because my girl Karin exists." Edit (after watching the video): I like your ideas, and I have a thought for a rather cruel way to end the game (but not a series ending twist), assuming your guesses are spot on. Which is to have both lovers sacrifice themselves for the other, only for them both to end up in the other's afterlife alone.
Personally i would love if the part twilight inspired in the story was the sparkle they have in sunlight. Just because of the absolute visceral reaction that plot point had when twilight first came into being, and miro made it work somehow.
If anyone watches the Warriors and wants more of it, there's a Rockstar developed, semi-open world brawler where you can play through the events of the movie. One of the best games ever, you can steal radios from cars and beat up cops
Personal opinion, Ending A is canon, with Olivia activating Logic The B endings of Daan, Abella, O'saa, and Karin also being likely canon, due to leaving the most possible sequel hooks (Daan becoming Pocketcat, Abella enabling the Moon landing, O'saa starting a new religion, and Karin researching and exposing the supernatural - O'saa and Karin essentially have the potential of becoming the new Enki) The fates of the remaining character is ambiguous, they could have escaped or they could have joined Olivia when activating Logic
Something to note with VTM is it also has that 'found family' theme within it as well. The terminology suggests that with the whole idea of 'embracing' new 'kin' when creating new vampire generations. The feuds between which way kindred ought to behave in modern society is also representative of the themes of a cycle and breaking said cycle also; the Masquerade; the Sabbat, Anarch, etc. Moreover, when looking beyond VTM and the world of darkness chronicles as a whole; similar to twilight and FF7, the theme of werewolves being present and synonymous with eco-warriors of a sort is likewise apparent.
everything you called a theme is really a motif. motifs are recurring symbols or elements that you could say in a few words like “found family.” themes are cohesive ideas about what the story is trying to express, which would be more like a sentence explaining what the story has to say about found family
I feel like O'saa would survive the events of Termina, and that whilst he isn't the only survivor his B ending would still be canon with him throwing Nas'rah's head into the lake? Similar how multiple endings in the first game are cannon but cannot be physically achieved in-game
My idea is basically that you play as 1 of a grpup of streamers trying to get famous off of exploring an abandoned town/building, classic funger shit goes down, allat.
I like your theory of this game play that follows two lovers on what is basically opposing sides of one coin in whatever the social climate will be in Fear & Hunger 3. Both sides doing what they believe is best in hopes of saving their companion but ultimately being met with unrevokable choices that sink both further into destruction. There is a game called “Pandora’s Tower” which follows a protagonist who basically slays monsters and feed their hearts to his lover in an attempt to return her to humanity. However, it’s obvious that the very act in itself is anything but humane. Anyway, thank you as always for the Copium for my Fear & Hunger Fiending!
Vampirism could be as literal can be, a tale of feeding off others, probably Fear&Hunger 3 will be more of a social game that had less combat and more talking.
Yall remember that part at the first part of GTA: San Andreas with gangs and turfs, now imagine that in Fear and Hunger, you go tag some other monstrosities turf and drive by them. You character is some mage or immortal warrior who lived from ancient times all the way to the present and saw all shit in F&H 1/2, that goes. "Aw shit here we go again." Secret weapon is some arcane baseball bat possibly with spikes or tentacles. I know it's not much but it's honest speculation for next game.
thank you for these info compilation videos cause god damn, between all the stuff miro tweets and chats about on discord, it's kinda hard to keep up also, love the model!
I have a theory, that we are actually going to play as vampires since the start, it would make for a interesting feed mechanic, since the game game is going to take place in 2010, a age where food access is easy, it would be hard to make a hunger mechanic like in the old games, by making the main character a vampire it would make for a hard food mechanic, since now you have to hunt people to drink blood, and could relate to the inspirations of twiglight a vampire the masquerade
Imagine that the whole Fear & Hunger 3 dating sim is to actually prepare us to get every dating sim ending before we're suddenly playing a hooded custom character in the traditional RPG format, but we have to remember what we did in each route to do any damage, dodge attacks, save our follow friends like something out of Typing of the Dead to get the S ending in order to help our group that's based off of The Warriors to get out of the city and help not bella use the power of friendship to deal a fatal blow to the final boss.
Just from the first 6 minutes I got a strong sense of heavy modern politics involved and maybe some Geiger inspired brutal technocracy and since body horror was a big theme of both games, it might show more of that with modern technology and weaponry involved. Miro’s comments do a great job of making my mind run wild. 😵💫
I think Funger 3 will take place in modern times and will mostly take place in a digital space where people can link into and the players goal will be to stop the digital space fusing with reality where everyone is forced into one conciousness thus completeing Logic, or/and fighting against a sect of All-mer worshippers (which are actually Sulfer worshippers) trying to spread their influence all over digital space led by the new enigmatic leader of this All-mer sect (which is actually revived Sulfer god) which turns out to be Daan
The items on my wishlist are as follows: 1 - A Reverse-Mermaid that is hidden, and only grants someone a can of caviar when found. 2 - Robot Cowboys 3 - The reappearing Sergal finding fanart of him and being disgusted 4 - RGB-glow version of the glow, to reflect gamer culture infesting it.
Space Exploration Game in the Dead Space style. Or Full modern day with they own weird version of the Internet. Imagine 7even, but you investigating the sulfur cult. Could be wild.
Do you think it's possible that it's a love story between Silvia, Gro'goroth and humanity? The Gods have spent so long being curious and with the addition of Logic that they've finally figured out how humanity works and now finally learn how humanity works.
A big theme with VtM is how the past influences us. You have vampires centuries or even millennia old manipulating things behind the scenes, and in F&H you have the new gods constantly meddling in our business.
We all know hunger and fear at part 1 but on part 2 we are only feel the fear because we can find food at any places I hope that part 3 (if that true) will bring back the hunger and more fear to us (im not eng man so maybe some word wrong)

After watching Castlevania Nocturne, I'd really like to see that.
Salivating at the mouth thinking of this concept...it's so gooodd... it would be a bit weird within the timeline since termina is supposed to be ww1 or 2 but the time skip between 'medieval dark ages' and '1930s aesthetic' is so big that we could just place it in the middle. I'd love more info abt the sulfur god in this game as well
The idea of a teen love vampire story crossed with funger lore has got me giddy as a schoolgirl
😭
It has the potental to be terrifying on the first playthrough and stupidly funny on the next ones
@@unclerico6847just like the other fear and hunger games... peak fiction honestly
So here's my takeaways in the major inspirations:
- Each story has people who start in one group that end up pushed to join another group while having to face a much greater threat from those who seem like them but are fundamentally different.
On the wishlist:
- I can see catgirls and elves being new icons that Logic hides behind to influence people, just like modern vTubers.
- Le'Garde's influences will likely be the key to the more positive / beneficial routes for Funger 3.
if vtubers end up in F&H3 I'm going to laugh very, very hard
Great, now I can't help but see the Baseball Furies as a particularly odd group of Sulfer Cultists...

Fear and Hunger 3? Ladies and gentlemen, this singular man named Miro has beaten a full on game studio at making trilogies go up to three. (Where is left 4 dead 3?)
don't jinx it!!!
In Valve's defense there is a level 3 sentry
Hey that's not fair: Everyone knows Valve can't count to three!
Oh what you didn’t enjoy Back 4 Blood?
Maybe we'll get a l4d vr game for index 2 in 2027
An important thing to note is that if the third game is set in Vinland, we might see a bit of a shift in how the world is presented to us.
F&H3 will be World Of Darkness but in Termina.
I made this prediction time before F&H3 was something on Miro twitter.
I remember I talked about Werewolf The Apocalypse and the themes of ecology and the relationship of the death of Vinushka and the death of Gaia

That's what i was thinking. It feels very in line with WoD and the Modern Nights. A world where the monsters are hiding in the shadows. Twilight and the Warriors fit the gang/coteries of vampires as they vie for power within the domain.

Clearly L'egarde is going to fight the Shinra Corporation with an All-Vampire baseball team.
Like in the Walking Dead how zombie media doesn't exist so the word zombie doesn't exist.)
I would like to think that he had these seeds planted this entire time.
We shall see though.
Miro is going to pull a TobyFox and wreck all of our expectations in the most unpredictable way possible.
I'm sure that the Twilight inspiration references to the deeper Vampire lore in the books, in which a vampire fetus rips out from the womb.
that or something similar, like gang territory
Legarde being a kind of Sephiroth makes a lot of sense. It's very likely he has a flesh pillar like the one in the church
Since that would allow for hunger to stay a gameplay element in a more open and modern world
blood as the hunger mechanic makes a lot of sense
with the idea of everything being a cycle, it being a love story, and the theme being destruction. i think were going to be playing as gro-goroth. not literally obvious but at least on some parallel, with the love interest being a stand in for sylvian. whether thats characters believing they're reincarnations of the gods or just some hints at it. maybe with some final fantasy 7 parallels with them fighting the society to help bring back some nature to the world. like gro-groth and sylvian making vinushka.
Can't believe I didn't make that connection. If there really is a romantic couple at the heart of the game of course they're going to riff on the Grogoroth/Sylvian ship
I wonder what Le'garde's part in that would be... Does he become Gro-goroth or some other great destroyer that displaces him?
I love time shenanigans, and it has precedence in the series too
you are missing something huge and that is that Logics goal is to absorb every human in herself by the artificial green and make ALL of humanity ascend not just a few

A love story for the ending does make sense if your interpretation of the lore being a result of the love of Gro-goroth and Sylvian is correct
Has he announced F&H3? I thought he was still working on adding to 2…
It's not officially announced yet, but he's started some planning. He won't start real work on it until after this next Termina patch, but Termina will still be the priority for a little while
Le Garde gonna be either just a passing memory or a menace again
hoping for menace
VTUBER JUMPSCARE.
Here's my wishlist, not in order :
- I really hope he makes connections with the other games not as blatant as possible.
(preference for Neon, retro vibes)
- I want to face dilemmas just like a Don't Nod game (for those who know) where the choices you make are very engaging.
- I want DoT's to be nerfed and more different playstyles
- I want to be able to play savior runs, neutral runs and g*nocidal runs.
- I want 5 endings just like F&H1 and also a return of S endings
- I want more gods lore
- playable maul crawler after getting all s endings
"Do you have Fear and Hunger in this timeline?"
"No, we have Horrified and Starving"
I would love to see him lean into some "the thing" related horror. For example imagine you could have the shapeshifters join your party and attack you randomly. But personally, i love his amalgamation of horror into over arching plot points and whatever i would like to see in termina, or a fear & hunger 3, i wouldn't want any 1 theme to overshadow another.
I feel you missed an important thing in FF7. I don't know how relevant it may or may not be, but:
A major plot point is that Holy might wipe all human life from the planet.
Aaaand then the sequel movie came out and went "Nah, humans were fine."
Which sucks, IMO, but hey.
We're back BABYYYYYYYY
LFG
I think a good way that Miro could truly end the series is by making it so that whatever “Ending A” or “Ending S” is the one of the main characters essentially learning to reject the need for any god, any higher power and believe in themselves. A big part of magic especially in the first game is that humans are actually capable of doing all the magic they do without gods, but because even the most megalomaniacal person is held back by inhibition, humans need gods to do those things. Someone learning how to completely reject the need for any greater power and believe in themselves and their abilities and teach humans to do the same could easily erase the gods completely.
Didnt enki already do this technically
Enki part2! But seriously i love stories when hummanity is seen as better than godhood and the human condition in general

I’m fucking obsessed with both Miro’s work and the early 2000’s so I’m eager to see what comes.
He said the characters in 3 will have internet, so it is possible that Fear and Hunger mechanics might be social.
The fact that Miro is prepared to make a game that he thinks a lot of the fanbase will not like is really brave and I hope the fanbase will not become ultra-retarded
Its not about retardation. I think the thired game will be so unique that if we want something like f&h or termina we will be disapointed.
I hope Funger 3 takes place in the Vatican, since many of funger 2’s characters have history with it and even funger 1 mentions the Vatican
It will take place in the equivalent of New York City.
I'd find it interesting if F&H3 takes partly place on the internet (like social networks, virtual spaces like Habbo). At some point, the boundaries between the virtual spaces and the real world could become ambiguous, making a twisted reality (like an horrific isekai).
Damn now I want to date the giant green squid goddess in Dungeon Nights 3.
you can try in the first game, but she snuu snuu's you
I wanna point out?
Well, i expected fear and hunger 3 to be a cyberpunk future where we realize that nobody is truly human anymore.
Hell, even if F&H3 was a Dungeon Nights², we'd gladly play it
What rabid fanbase?

As a hotline miami player i remember this and it was a mistake on both parts as the fanbase definitely were too harsh on the creator and were just toxic but the creator made many changes without telling the fanbase or looking for feedback. Edit (after watching the video): I like your ideas, and I have a thought for a rather cruel way to end the game (but not a series ending twist), assuming your guesses are spot on.
You said "Lord's of the night" so much I was worried Curze might show up
As probably the only fan of fear and hunger that loves twilight this was a great way to start the video and the month

im starting to smell a fear and hunger 3 with a 70's-80's time setting
FF7 materia system in F&H3, confirmed 👌🏻
Personal opinion,
Ending A is canon, with Olivia activating Logic
The B endings of Daan, Abella, O'saa, and Karin also being likely canon, due to leaving the most possible sequel hooks (Daan becoming Pocketcat, Abella enabling the Moon landing, O'saa starting a new religion, and Karin researching and exposing the supernatural - O'saa and Karin essentially have the potential of becoming the new Enki)
The fates of the remaining character is ambiguous, they could have escaped or they could have joined Olivia when activating Logic
So i saw a tweet by Miro. He says that hes going away from shock horror, as hes done that for 8 years now.
everything you called a theme is really a motif. motifs are recurring symbols or elements that you could say in a few words like “found family.” themes are cohesive ideas about what the story is trying to express, which would be more like a sentence explaining what the story has to say about found family

What I’m basically hearing is that the next Funger Game is literally the World of Darkness
"Aw shit here we go again." I have a theory, that we are actually going to play as vampires since the start, it would make for a interesting feed mechanic, since the game game is going to take place in 2010, a age where food access is easy, it would be hard to make a hunger mechanic like in the old games, by making the main character a vampire it would make for a hard food mechanic, since now you have to hunt people to drink blood, and could relate to the inspirations of twiglight a vampire the masquerade

Miro should read the V5 VtM books. O'saa is clearly a Tremere, Daan is a Salubri, and Samarie is Malkavian, for example.
Also, saying VtM is similar to twilight is a step on a lego kind of offense, real vampires don't sparkle.
