Apologies if you’re asked this all the time. Any advice if someone’s only interested in H&F, not paragliding. What’s the training route/requirements/recommendations? I’m just south of the Peaks and looking to start soon. Thanks, hope you’re recovering well.
@@DansEscapades that’s very kind. No idea how to message people on here. I did post my number (to delete obviously) here but I don’t know if UA-cam deleted the comment. If you know how to message me, could you please! Thanks
Hi Dan, one question, why do you choose not to wear airbag protection? Isn't it interesting for a possible bad landing with a possible thermal close to land or a landing with the reserve in some trees? Thank you very much.
Thanks for the comment. My reasoning is as follows: If I was to be under a reserve and heading for trees, it wouldn't be likely to be coming directly on top of them, therefor the protection under my backside wouldn't be very effective. Also flying low level doesn't really leave much time for a reserve to deploy. Thermals close to land, I'm selective when I fly the mini / speed wings to again its minimal. If there is thermic activity, then its normally minimal Amd lastly, I find airbags tend to get in the way on a fast forward launch, and I feel like I just kick it constantly. I don't use this harness for paragliding I have an advance Easiness with optional airbag for that. I think they are helpful, but depends on the pilot and the situation Cheers Dan
I watched a couple videos for H&F kit ideas and the one thing that scared me a bit was the idea of flying with a zero protection harness. Then I watched your accident video and confirmed to myself how important a solid harness really is; given how unpredictability plays a part in this activity. That experience was scary and I hope you are recovering well from your injuries.
You sre correct mate. Playing devil's advocate though.... Airbags only work if you land on them, same with other protection. So if you can deffo land on the protection, winner! I will Continue to fly string harnessses, just with an airbag now due to it being lightweight. I have a new set up, I was going to do another H&F kit video.
@@u0000-u2x it's up in the air my friend. I'm going to sell the paramotor I think, and just do H&F missions. What are your thoughts on flying after an accident?
@@DansEscapades thankfully I've never had anything serious myself, but I've gotten shaken up by seeing people close to me have them, so I can just imagine how tough it is to get back under the wing after going through it.
@@u0000-u2x yeah, it's a wierd experience for sure. I wouldn't class myself as a daft pilot, I don't take unnecessary risks when flying. That day has deffo changed my mindset, and il probably fly in nil wind only now. What's your H&F set up?

Hi mate, do you want to trade numbers. It will be easier to discuss. Dan

Awesome! Question, how much weight can the gin reserve hold?
There's various models, so anything you need it to is the short answer. The one in this video, is 110kg max
@@DansEscapades Thanks for the info 👍
