I live across the street from a dairy farm in north central Massachusetts ,they milk around 200 head and with some of there milk they produce Gouda cheese and other's plus bottle some milk etc. don't have to go far for a cheese snack 😋
I shipped B milk for cheese. I shipped in cans till I put a tank in. There are a lot of cheese factories in our area. Christmas morning it drove the kids crazy because we had to milk before we could open presents.
I live in Central Michigan and remember Christmas Day in 1982 it was 64 degrees, for us that was the warmest Christmas in history, we played golf that day.
Your dad reminds me of my dad on our dairy before he went to work in town…. Farming will always be in my blood….Brought up and we all worked as a family like you all do.
Enjoy the Christmas music on the radio too. 98.3FM WTRY (Albany, NY) will start playing Christmas tunes, all the old ones I remember as a kid. They start after Thanksgiving and to New Years. Puts you in a good mood! yeah was same wx here too, now (Jan 17) been cold (14 at night, 20s in day) so yeah been an odd Dec.
I like milk. I love cheese. Worked at dairy factory for 16 years & loved it! Quality assurance, pathogen surveillance, instrument calibration. Market milk, cheddar cheese, lactose & whey powders, skim & full cream milk powders -a big factory with 3 million litres of milk on the peak intake days. I'm from the state of Victoria, Australia and I Iike watching your farm activities. 😊
Your dad knows his farm very well as most older farmers did back in the day.I dont miss those early morning milkings we used to do and looks like spring up there instead of winter.I hope all of you faired well during this brutal cold wave. Thanks for sharing your daily farm life. I look forward to the videos.
The shot in the barn from under the cow with the milker on really transported me back to when I was growing up and to those years when I milked my own cows.
Great video. Better with not so much face time. Larsons and Tay Farms is all face time and personally I enjoy seeing farm work more. Keep up the good work!
Work never stops on a farm no matter what day of the year it is. We've had a lot of mild wet weather here in the UK. Has finally become colder just lately. Great video. All the best 🇬🇧.
I love your ways. Family life. Farming in Wisconsin. 'Take things as they come.' Good farm life. Cows love their feed mix. Thank you for the videos. ❤❤🌟🌟😊😊
Am writing this Jan 16.I guess you would say the other shoe dropped the last few days.-9 degrees the other night,Winter didn't forget to show up.I do wish we could get more snow,It's always nice to have a good covering of snow to keep the frost for going too deep.Happy New Year everyone!! Thanks 😊.
Fabulous, January 17th here in Scotland. Extremely cold, but little snow in the central and south. Total white out in the North with an artic blast over the last 48 hours at minus 5 to minus 12.
As always another great video and it's always a blessing to see the fruits of your labor. Your farm is an amazing farm and it's always great when a new video come out!!! God Bless
It is great to be reminded of the warmer weather we experienced on Christmas, although I would have like it to be colder with some snow on the ground. You guys have been busy with driving to get the sawmill and everything in between. We eat our share of dairy products, especially ice cream, Butter Pecan is our favorite. Just a side note: when my dad worked at a dairy bottleling plant, he showed me a piece that looked like a good sized candy kiss was wasn't really that big, made up of extremely packed together small wire. Said it was used in the homogenizer and that all of the milk ran through it. I thought it was cool, Merry Christmas and Happy cold New Year. It is 3 degrees here at 11:30 in the evening. Got to love the weather.
It was warm here in N.E.PA. that I saw two Lilics bushes bloomed again! No kidding, I saw them! One was with white flowers, the other purple! we had a dipped in the milk house, My kids & nieces & nephews use to get on a stool, raise the lid, and get a drink of milk. The agitator was in the lid, well SOMEBODY, we don't know who dropped the dipper in the tank, didn't tell anyone, closed the lid and to dipper was under the agitator so when it ran it turned the dipper and it scored the bottom of the tank. How did we know, when the tank was empty, and we were going to wash it. No more getting milk out of the tank!
we used to have a milker cow who could undo any knot you cared to tie she would undo it the gate would open a bit and she would just stand there wouldn't go out the yard just stand there
Can you please do a milking video all the way through it, and see if your father has any old stories, please please lol thank you for your time and God bless you and your family
The farm I worked on the agitator kept the milk moving past the cooling jacket so there wasn't temperature gradients throughout the tank. Had nothing to do with cream separating. Besides who cares if it separates, it all gets pumped out into a truck. Otherwise love your farm and your channel. Merry Christmas!!!
I have really enjoyed seeing the dairy side of things more these last few videos. A few months back I started watching another channel of a dairy farm that uses a tie stall barn, it's quite interesting to see the differences and similarities of how you both do things. Around here, I have only really been around beef cattle, which is similar yet rather different in many ways, it sure seems like a different work load between the 2. :)
Love what you guys do and how on top of everything you seem. Is there any particular brand of cheese or yogurt or dairy we should be on the look out for in stores? I prefer 2-5 year cheddars that are almost too sharp but even cottage cheese is fine. Or maybe you could put together merch packages if the cheese from your milk is only sold local up there you could air mail us a lb of cheese curds and a hat for the freshest poutine or two 8oz blocks of cheddar or mozzarella and a quart of raw milk(for pets or decoration only) with a hoodie and mark it up a bit
Been a long time me and my grandpa hand milked 12 cows and sold to the cheese house a mile away funny thing was we had to sell grade b milk and our tests were better than our neighbor selling grade a milk from a milking parlor I'm 58 in Ohio
I was Curious as To How Much milk you all Drink a Day ? & do you like Raw Milk better (I Know I DO) & we was milking a angus and Holstein cross cow several years ago & the milk was not to good for butter So We Just Shook It All Up And Man O Man You Talk About Good..I Got To Drinking a Gallon to a Gallon an a half a day Ever Day & We Cut & Split Wood all Year & i still Gained 50+lbs But man it was good Milk ..lol.
That brown swiss cow looks like it is one of the daughters of the old brown swiss that Mason talked about while in the barn a couple of videos ago. They have several brown swiss cows on Gierok Farms. 😊😊😊
I enjoy your channel very much, however I live in the South and I also enjoy watching the differences in our weather. When you say it is Christmas and I see this video on Jan 16 it disappoints me. Would you please keep your content more up to date. A lot of the very successful you tuber are almost day to day. Just saying don't be lazy. If not your channel will see a decline in viewers, I know I am not the only one!

Ol browny is a ham for the camera . 😁what a view .

There's something special listening to cowbells in the distance on Christmas morning. It sounds more festive somehow.
Here in south central kansas, they are predicting 37 degrees today. First time above zero in 4 or 5 days.

Great video Gierok Farms
Love the way your dad knows the animals. Good steward of the land and all the living creatures. Strong work ethic. Always enjoy all your videos.
Your dad reminds me of my dad on our dairy before he went to work in town…. Farming will always be in my blood….Brought up and we all worked as a family like you all do.
Surprise! Got to love that Artic vortex that came down. Thank God it will end in a week or so and back to warmer temps.
That’s neat….the lights come on and you start to hear the bells. Life wakes up!

Thanks for sharing the video. Enjoy watching them and it helps me to remember how it was growing up on the dairy back years ago.
Great video. Better with not so much face time. Larsons and Tay Farms is all face time and personally I enjoy seeing farm work more. Keep up the good work!
Love videos. Just purchased a white & chocolate gallon of milk today.

You should have a fiberglass feed cart up by the barn to dump from the skid steer instead of killing yourselves with the wheelbarrows just a thought.😊
How come you were a stocking hat and it's 50 some degree it's t shirt weather gotta love Wisconsin weather

Love the 🔔
Do you sell any heifers or put them all into the milking herd😊
Where does your waste wash water from the milkhouse go?
How many gallons do you produce every 2 days?
BEWARE the law of averages LOL
Y’all spoke too soon. We were -16 this weekend. Sure could use some of that global warming. 😂
Been a long time me and my grandpa hand milked 12 cows and sold to the cheese house a mile away funny thing was we had to sell grade b milk and our tests were better than our neighbor selling grade a milk from a milking parlor I'm 58 in Ohio
What do you do with your bull calves?
They steer em toward a beef product.
So do you all drink your raw milk or do you go buy from the store?
why are videos so late, this is 22 days old ....the weather now has changed drastically
Cause he's a Wisconsin dairy farmer.
What's the symbol on your barn mean?
I was Curious as To How Much milk you all Drink a Day ? & do you like Raw Milk better (I Know I DO) & we was milking a angus and Holstein cross cow several years ago & the milk was not to good for butter So We Just Shook It All Up And Man O Man You Talk About Good..I Got To Drinking a Gallon to a Gallon an a half a day Ever Day & We Cut & Split Wood all Year & i still Gained 50+lbs But man it was good Milk ..lol.
