Thank you for posting this. I got to relive the 2006 Olympics. I'm from the US, but there was something about this winter Olympics. Turin made the world feel that we all came from the same village, city, country. Still my favorite Winter Olympics :)
I'm in total agreement. The Olympic channel played the 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014 Winter Games opening ceremonies prior to the latest games in Korea. The 2006 presentation has the best music and images. The lighting of the flame hits it right out of the park!
I was 13 years old during those amazing days. Now I'm almost 23 and I perfectly remember that period in which my city (Torino) hosted the Olympic Games. Magic!
Turin is such an amazing city as some1 who's father side of the family came from Naples and my moms side came from Sicily I've been up and down 🇮🇹 and Turin is so beautiful my favorite city in Northern Italy but this Olympics was amazing for me an Italian American who got my Italian citizenship in 2011 i remember watching this Olympics with my nonna and my dad my Nonna loved Calcio and the Olympics and now that im grown and my Nonna and father have passed i cherish those memories
Di Centa`s Story is so touching:D this Video really made me fever and celebrate with him. Thank you very much for posting this. Do many good feelings in this video.
This brings so many memories back, even though I wasn’t there, because one of my closest friends lived in Torino for six months and this brings back all of my good memories with her.
After 20 years, the Winter Olympics are coming back to Italy for the third time at Milan-Cortina in 2026! For Italians who've been wishing for another Olympics after 2006, your wish is about to come real in 4 years time!
Hermann Maier was definitely the hero in Alpine skiing - almost losing a leg several years before, not returning in 2002 and everybody speculated if he will ever ski again or if he does, has he any hope of competing for the medal.
STUFF MISSING: · Anja Paerson goes from 2 bronzes to finally a gold in slalom · Andre Lange pulls off the double gold in bobsleigh · Australia wins another aerials medal like in SLC 2002... but this time it's a guy! · German ladies go 1-2-3 on luge · The #1 favourite in nordic combined, Hanu Manninen, fails horribly on both individual events (9th as a best result) · Koreans win 5 out of 9 individual medals possible in men's short track speed skating · Lars Kristian Bystøl, who only won 2 other things in his life, gets gold and bronze in ski jumping · Shaun White demolishes the competition in men's halfpipe · Lindsey Jacobellis falls on one of the last jumps and hands Tanja Frieden the gold in SBX · The Schoch brothers go 1-2 in men's parallel giant slalom
Now Italy doesn't care about speed skating this claims. So would they have even sent a group to compete in that 3 man team event? I bet they only got in because as host nation they automatically get one qualified team per event, because I doubt they'd spend money on it otherwise. Still, I'm very happy for Enrico Fabris' success. What a nice guy.
The American speed skater in the beginning has his heart in the right place. It's important to remember. however, that not everyone "in Africa" has HIV and abject poverty certainly exists in the United States as well.
Uneven game(few can compete) and oh "The Complete Turin 2006 Winter Olympics" you forgot a few IMPORTANTE sports....like Hockey, the biggest sport in the olympics.... :-)
I hope they're are going to be videos like this for London, Rio, Sochi, Pyeongchang and Tokyo, I really do enjoy these videos.
I know this is very late but on the Olympic website they have I believe documentaries up to 2018
@@TheGammingPie Do you have a link? I don’t see them, and I want to watch London and Rio!

Avevo 16 anni e purtroppo, nonostante io sia di Novara, non ho potuto vederle dal vivo :(

Australia won the men's moguls not the aerials. But they won bronze in women's aerials.
Diego Ruiz also Canada’s Clara Hughes winning in speed skating after overcoming depression.
I remember Torino Italy as the first winter Olympic games that I saw in my life. I did watch on tv.
Kjetil, my favourite alpine skier of all time!!!!!
10 years ago...what a great Olympics. here's to Rio this summer. nbc promoted heroes during the games.

2026 will be very interesting, Milano-Cortina should be a great Olympics, I hope so.
And yet the coaches who would have seen that kid throw his helmet down would have thought, "that kid's got fire!" and wanted him for that alone.
14:06 there's a 1st look of the closing ceremony

The best Olympic games ever and I challenge any of you to say the opposite

Whos Here In Eurovision 2022 Held In Turin
who is the singer of the nessun dorma in the opening credit?
I'm not sure but I think is Luciano Pavarotti
If you mean the one at the very beginning of the film, it is a rock-pop version named "Nessun Dorma Redux". search it on YT and you'll find it.

All you really need is cross-country skiing.
Mostly mens' Olympics; apparently a trend in these videos.
