I had the good fortune of seeing her live a few years ago and she was even better in person. She’s such a beautiful performer, her style and voice and skill are all so wonderful to experience. Listening to her feels like falling into some kind of surreal other realm
Stunning. Aside from the amazing talent and music in this, the keyboardist in the back is using a little keyboard on top (Casio SA 47) that is about $50 new. Sure, it's being processed in some way or other, but I hope that lights a fire in every person watching who might feel held back financially. It reminds me of other instances where artists used surprisingly meager equipment with incredible results.
When the live performance is better than the album track.

while watching this I couldn't allow myself to move even at the slightest bit or to make any noise not to miss any detail, any subtle sound. it felt like raindrops falling on the glass when you watch them, each one of them and just get carried away into another world. there are just so many simple magical things in this world to see, hear, taste, feel.
this music is out of this world experience, i think i have found another favorite artist. discovered agnes just three day ago. why had i not heard of her before? how could i miss her out?

I apologize if i get the insterment wrong, but that cello is so beautiful! It makes the whole song. This song is so mesmerizing, all of her songs are. I cannot believe she isnt well known. I think Agnes Obel needs to collaborate with / score for David Lynch. This may be her most Orbison-esque composition to date, and it may also be my favorite. I realize that this song was made for DARK, which I haven't seen yet, but it sounds like it was made for the new Twin Peaks series or another one of his films.. Lynch has great taste, so of course he loves her work and has remixed one of songs which she put on an album. When will these two absolute geniuses bless the world by working together? We need to start a petition.

If I had just seen/heard this without already knowing something about Agnes Obel, then I might have to pick myself up off the floor or down off the ceiling and say, 'Wow," several times in a very hushed voice, but I've recently immersed myself in the sonic beauty of Agnes Obel, after hearing a fellow programmer at The Mighty Zephyr (KZFR) play "Riverside" from her Philharmonic album and I've slipped down the velvet-lined rabbit-hole into this lovely woman's lovely music. I still say "Wow," but it's with an appreciation and knowledge of what Agnes Obel and her band can do to soothe my soul.
Perfection defines this presentation.
