  • On this week’s episode of the Escape Your Limits podcast, we are joined by John Jaquish, a doctor of biomechanical engineering on a mission to educate the world as to why traditional weightlifting is a waste of time.
Driven by an obsessive interest in bone health stemming from his mothers’ osteoporosis diagnosis, invented the X3® - a device that improves bone strength, whilst limiting the risk of injury, through the application of variable (adaptive) resistance.
Dr. Jaquish is absolutely committed to advancing oesteogenic load research and travels the world speaking about its implications. A number of his articles have been printed in medical journals and he has also written and published a couple of books: ‘Oesteogenic Loading’ and ‘Weight Lifting is a Waste of Time - And So Is Cardio. There’s A Better Way To Have The Body You Want’.
Whilst Dr. Jaquish is a disruptor and very happy to question the effectiveness of traditional weight training techniques, his findings are also supported by several independent studies. His methods are used in training the world's most elite athletes and associations such as the entire Miami Heat organization, various NFL and NBA players, as well as Olympians.
In this podcast, John talks extensively about:
    ● Strength training and maximizing muscle growth.
    ● Volume training, hypertrophy and stretch-induced training.
    ● Nutrition, Hydration and ‘The Carnivore Diet.’
    ● Semaglutide, weight loss and lifestyle changes.
    ● Big changes coming to Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
    ● Genetic outliers and impacts on training.

Interesting it seems like a great system, but the sheer amount of reps contradicts decades of research on the optimum reps for strength-even going to fatigue has been shown to be the worst way to get strong, according to huge amount of research.
I do think the system could be adapted to work within these parameters, though

I love your work Dr. John. You challenged the fitness industry and in my opinion have come out on top! And since building my own X3 type bar (I live in Thailand and the shipping costs are almost as high at the bar). - I'm not well funded. But your stuff is top notch. As a fellow PhD student, I appreciated your peer reviewed research, whatever they remark about your school I can tell that you do your due diligence (I have done tons of research in my Masters and now my PhD). I keep getting complements on my physique since starting out about 6 months ago. (I follow your 2 days on, one day off model at this point). I have seen, as well has others, my improvements in my muscular development (as well as feel my changes in joint health/pain: it is has almost disappeared and was keeping me from using heavier weight) . I often get compliments on my physique. You are a god-send! Please keep up the good work sir!

If you want to talk carnivore, it's time for an interview with Dr Anthony Chaffee.

No, Dr, J, this grandma (67) is listening! You've got the science nailed, and now I'm doing resistance bands. This is amazing since I've never liked sports other than dodgeball or the trampoline in hs. With old age, I noticed that my scrawny muscles were getting smaller, and you have the answer (w/o much joint stress). Never thought I'd see the day I'd be doing the dead lift, the bicep curl, the chest press, etc. So thank you!

No top bodybuilders can ever build a top physique with bands only. Good for staying fit and the average guy but you won't build a elite physique.

Train a maximum of 15 minutes a day. Alternate between resistance training and spriting. Do not work out more than 10-15 minutes a day. See Mike Mentzer. Do your own research. 😊

I wonder how he’s going to handle primal selling medication that he’s endorsing that’s “not for human use” or “for research only”.
When they think he’s a real medical doctor and all?

You are correct and there are videos made showing why this is true! Many are gullible and want to fall for it without understanding the true principles needed for full potential and bans not providing full tension from beginning to end will short-change yourself. You will get stronger but you will not ever reach your best potential as an elite will do using bans.

There's no way you have this build from bands only. No you're not doing anabolics. I'm sure you can get a great workout from this product. But they're not going to be built like you. I'm speaking from 50 years experience. I'm not even judging you for being on anabolics. To each their own. Just be real.
